Assessing the authenticity of some selected chocolates
Zgodnie z dyrektywą 2000/36/WE do wyrobów czekoladowych można stosować dodatek tłuszczu innego niż kakaowy w ilości do 5% ogólnej zawartości masy kakaowej. Pursuant to Directive 2000/36/EC, it is possible to add a fat other than cocoa fat to chocolate products; its addition can amount to 5 % of the general content of cocoa mass. The main objective of this paper was the analysis of fats in some selected dark chocolates available on the Polish market. After the qualitative and quantitative analysis of fats in the products investigated, it was
also attempted to assess their authenticity. The analysis of the composition of fatty acids and sterols, especially of the content of basic acids, i.e. of palmitic, stearic, linoleic, and oleic acids, constituted the basis for either confirming or negating the authenticity of the products under investigation. Based on the investigations performed, it was proved that four from among all the chocolates examined significantly differed from other products. In the majority of the chocolates, the content ratio between the palmitic and stearic acids proved the fact that substitutes were applied instead of cacao or plant fats

Linking magnetic MII-[MV(CN)8] chains into 2D inorganic-organic hybrid materials
Three isostructural 2D inorganic–organic hybrid MII–[MV(CN)8]3− materials with pyrazine (pyz) incorporated as a short organic linker between 3,2-chain motifs: [MII(pyz)(DMF)3]2[MII(DMF)4][MV(CN)8]2 (where MII/MV is Co/W in 1; Cu/W in 2; and Cu/Mo in 3), were constructed from the combinations formed in situ by MII–pyrazine (MII = Co, Cu) assemblies with cyanide building blocks [MV(CN)8]3− (MV = Mo, W). The unprecedented architecture of 1–3 reveals no crystallization solvent molecules and propagation of pyrazine bridges in a perpendicular direction, contrary to the previously reported compound [CuII(4,4′-bpy)(DMF)]2[CuII(4,4′-bpy)(DMF)2][WV(CN)8]2·2DMF·2H2O with 4,4′-bipyridine bridges. Magnetic studies of 1–3 reveal the presence of overall ferromagnetic interactions in the cyanido-bridged MII–WV pairs and weak antiferromagnetic interactions transferred through the MII–pyz–MII linkages
