Grammatikalisierung und Marginalisierung "enklitischer Partikeln" im Tschechischen

Im folgenden Beitrag gehe ich zunächst auf die Extension des Begriffs "Partikeln" im Allgemeinen und der Abtönungspartikeln im Besonderen sowie auf ihre Merkmale ein, und zwar mit Blick auf den unterschiedlichen Grad ihrer Grammatikalisierung. Danach stelle ich die wichtigsten Aspekte des Grammatikalisierungsprozesses vor und zeichne den Wandel des tschechischen Partikelsystems nach, bei dem ich mich auf die sog. enklitischen Partikeln beschränke, die funktional den deutschen Abtönungspartikeln nahe stehen

Franz Kafkas Deutsch

The present paper is concerning with Franz Kafka's German. It calls in question the theories about the poor, impoverished and insular character of Kafka's Prague (ghetto) German in isolation from a German speaking community. The paper presents Franz Kafka's in its temporal, regional and social context: (1) His German participates in the contemporary development of the German language. (2) The German of his private letters and diaries is a variety with several spoken and Bavarian characteristic features in the phonology, morphology, syntax and lexicon, but the German of his official letters and manucripts contains largely only lexical, especially terminological law Austriacisms. So Franz Kafka had a good command of all language registers. (3) Some phenomena in Franz Kafka's German have parallels in Czech and Yiddish. Some of these phenomena are to interpret as Baiuvarisms too, some other as collective phenomena in the German speaking in Bohemia

Language loyalty and language shift in Bohemia in the long 19th century based on the language biography of Friedrich (Bedřich) Smetana

Language loyalty can be viewed from the perspective of both language stability and language shift. The paper focuses primarily on the latter as it shows how the Bohemian composer Friedrich Smetana (1824–1884) shifted from a predominate use of German to Czech in private and official correspondence and his diaries to become known as the Czech composer Bedřich Smetana. This change serves as a model of the collective language and social shift in Bohemia in the long 19th century. The paper shows, however, that Smetana encountered difficulties in making the language shift from German to Czech due to the stability of his previous language loyalty to German, tracing both Smetana’s subsequent evaluation of the limited language shift’s success and his explanation of its failure. In this regard, the study also considers the narrative of a Germanisation Smetana invokes to explain his loyalty to the German language during his education and beyond due to the Germanisation of educational institutions. The paper thus shows how Smetana’s narrative of his own language biography is a model narrative for his generation as whole

Vzhledem k tomu, ze soukrome dopisy se vyznacuji stfidänim kodü, venuje se clänek i otäzce zämemosti stfidäni ködü (stylovych ürovni). Ta je ukazatelem znalosti cestiny v jeji stylisticke rozrüznenosti ci omezene znalosti cestiny stylisticky nivelizovane. Lze v ni videt i indikätor miry Kafkova nemecko-ceskeho bilingvismu

Zwischen nationalen und transnationalen Erinnerungsnarrativen in Zentraleuropa

In diesem Band werden Erinnerungsnarrative in Literatur, Fernsehen, Film, Fotografie und musealen Ausstellungen untersucht, die einerseits transmedial greifen, andererseits die Vergangenheit/en in Zentraleuropa auf unterschiedliche Art und Weise national und/oder transnational erzählen und de/konstruieren. Dabei werden auch die Verwobenheit zwischen verschiedenen Medien und Fragen nach dem Verständnis des Trans-/Nationalen diskutiert
