Bifurcations from families of periodic solutions in piecewise differential systems
Consider a differential system of the form where
and are piecewise
functions and -periodic in the variable . Assuming that the unperturbed
system has a -dimensional submanifold of periodic solutions
with , we use the Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction and the averaging theory to
study the existence of isolated -periodic solutions of the above
differential system

Eudaimonistic Argumentation
Virtue theories have lately enjoyed a modest vogue in the study of argumentation, echoing the success of more far-reaching programmes in ethics and epistemology. Virtue theories of argumentation (VTA) comprise several conceptually distinct projects, including the provision of normative foundations for argument evaluation and a renewed focus on the character of good arguers. Perhaps the boldest of these is the pursuit of the fully satisfying argument, the argument that contributes to human flourishing. This project has an independently developed epistemic analogue: eudaimonistic virtue epistemology. Both projects stress the importance of widening the range of cognitive goals beyond, respectively, cogency and knowledge; both projects emphasize social factors, the right sort of community being indispensable for the cultivation of the intellectual virtues necessary to each project. This paper proposes a unification of the two projects by arguing that the intellectual good life sought by eudaimonistic virtue epistemologists is best realized through the articulation of an account of argumentation that contributes to human flourishing
Proposed Steps to Projects Development in the Public Sector
Public Policy and projects have been the subject of discussion in public organizations, with the argument that it organizations has resources, but there are no projects to invest. This research aims to suggest a step-by-step proposal to elaborate a project, based on a public policy, in a way that will improve public management, with specific results and contribute to the quality of life of citizens and society. In this research was analyzed the concepts of public management, public policy, programs and projects, which resulted in a logical, interrelated proposal, consisting of steps that comprise a step by step to elaborate project to a public policy. He sought the qualitative aspect and used the bibliographical research as methodology. Structuring the work in chapters organizing in introduction, theoretical survey and its analysis, proposed a step by step to elaborate project and concluded with the final considerations

Interrelationship of the kinin system, nitric oxide and eicosanoids in the antigen-induced arthritis in rabbits.
The aim of the present study was to investigate the interrelationship of the kinin system, nitric oxide and eicosanoids in the acute phase of antigen-induced arthritis (AIA) in rabbits. The arthritis was induced in immunized rabbits and the following parameters were evaluated 24 hours later: leukocyte influx (total and differential white cell count), vascular permeability (Evans's blue method), and synovial PMN cell infiltrate. PGE2 and LTB4 (radioimmunoassay) levels were quantified in the synovial fluid. The animals were pre-treated with 20mg/kg/day during 14 days with L-NAME or D-NAME and/or Enalapril (0.12 mg/kg/day-14 days), and/or the B2 antagonist of Bradykinin HOE 140 (0.9 mg/kg). Our results showed that L-NAME was effective in the prevention of AIA with reduction of all Inflammatory parameters analyzed. Enalapril partially reverted the L-NAME anti-inflammatory effects. The simultaneous treatment with HOE 140 abolished this reversion and returned the inflammatory parameters to the levels observed in L-NAME treated animals. Our results suggest that pressoric alterations induced by L-NAME could not account for all its anti-inflammatory action in this model of experimental arthritis. Additionally the contribution of the kinin system in AIA was characterized as well as its interaction with eicosanoids and nitric oxide
Non-Hermitian Hamiltonians of Lie algebraic type
We analyse a class of non-Hermitian Hamiltonians, which can be expressed
bilinearly in terms of generators of a sl(2,R)-Lie algebra or their isomorphic
su(1,1)-counterparts. The Hamlitonians are prototypes for solvable models of
Lie algebraic type. Demanding a real spectrum and the existence of a well
defined metric, we systematically investigate the constraints these
requirements impose on the coupling constants of the model and the parameters
in the metric operator. We compute isospectral Hermitian counterparts for some
of the original non-Hermitian Hamiltonian. Alternatively we employ a
generalized Bogoliubov transformation, which allows to compute explicitly real
energy eigenvalue spectra for these type of Hamiltonians, together with their
eigenstates. We compare the two approaches.Comment: 27 page
