On Nichols algebras over PGL(2,q) and PSL(2,q)

We compute necessary conditions on Yetter-Drinfeld modules over the groups \mathbf{PGL}(2,q)=\mathbf{PGL}(2,\FF_q) and \mathbf{PSL}(2,q)=\mathbf{PSL}(2,\FF_q) to generate finite dimensional Nichols algebras. This is a first step towards a classification of pointed Hopf algebras with group of group-likes isomorphic to one of these groups. As a by-product of the techniques developed in this work, we prove that there is no non-trivial finite-dimensional pointed Hopf algebra over the Mathieu groups M20M_{20} and M21=PSL(3,4)M_{21}=\mathbf{PSL}(3,4).Comment: Minor change

Field assay using a native entomopathogenic nematode for biological control of the weevil Phyrdenus muriceus in organic eggplant crops in Argentina

Get PDF
The weevil Phyrdenus muriceus Germar (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) is an emergent pest of eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) crops in the humid Pampa of Argentina. Entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) constitute an effective and environmentally safe strategy within integrated pest management. The efficacy of a native EPN Heterorhabditis bacterio- phora SUP isolate for the control of P. muriceus was evaluated. Larvae and adults were susceptible to the nematode in laboratory assays. Field evaluations indicated a slight reduction of P. muriceus popula- tions, evidenced after a second application by a decrease of the foliar damage in the eggplant crops. Adults of P. muriceus parasitized by H. bacteriophora were observed in the field one month after the second application.

In this paper we consider a general equilibrium model with an infinite dimensional commodity space, with externalities affecting to the consumer and producer sets and the preferences relations. All of these sets are represented by correspondences as well as the producers behavior which extends those used in others papers where there is no externalities or the commodity space is finite dimensional. Effects of a localized beam on the dynamics of excitable cavity solitons

Get PDF
We study the dynamical behavior of dissipative solitons in an optical cavity filled with a Kerr medium when a localized beam is applied on top of the homogeneous pumping. In particular, we report on the excitability regime that cavity solitons exhibits which is emergent property since the system is not locally excitable. The resulting scenario differs in an important way from the case of a purely homogeneous pump and now two different excitable regimes, both Class I, are shown. The whole scenario is presented and discussed, showing that it is organized by three codimension-2 points. Moreover, the localized beam can be used to control important features, such as the excitable threshold, improving the possibilities for the experimental observation of this phenomenon.Comment: 9 Pages, 12 figure

This research work investigates the processes of implementation and normalization of two technologies of telemedicine, and its effects on the relationships established by the actors involved. To this end, it analyses two cases of study in the region of Valparaíso, in special a case of teledermatology and another of telecardiology, of recent emergence. In this way, the project is complementary to the main studies of the Project Fondecyt “Telemedicina, Controversia y Cambio Social en Chile” (N°11150918), by contributing with an exploratory observation, and necessarily more limited, of new cases of studies. This study developed the complement of an ethnographic approach and discourse analysis. It included the realization of ethnographic observations and the application of seven interviews to actors located in the different telemedicine programs. In this way, there is an importance in the construction of the social world, in order to give justification to the development of telemedicine technologies. In the same way, the development of telemedicine technologies together with actors in the area of health, developed modes validated in advance of the implementation, of remote knowledge of the human body and its ailments. Next to that, telemedicine programs express a clear invisibilization of normative structures, as frameworks of valid actions of responses to situations that arise after medical care. Finally, during the development of the research, it is possible to observe a clear knowledge regarding the generation of new social roles as a result of the implementation of telemedicine technologies

Virtual and Augmented Reality Therapy Framework for Phobia Treatment

Phobias are a common type of anxiety disorder that affects a great number of people. Treating phobias is not always straightforward and require a significant effort from both the patient and the therapist. In recent years, Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy and Augmented Reality Exposure Therapy have emerged to help in phobia treatments by using virtual content. However, most available systems are not free and require expensive hardware. In this paper, we present a free and open-source framework for phobia treatment, designed for both the therapist and the patient. A Virtual Reality scenario for acrophobia (fear of heights) and an Augmented Reality scenario for arachnophobia were developed for validation.XVI Workshop Computación Gráfica, Imágenes y Visualización (WCGIV)Red de Universidades con Carreras en Informática (RedUNCI
