The article discusses the effectiveness of methods and techniques for teaching reading in Russian in the Karakalpak school. Recommendations are given to teachers when setting goals and objectives for teaching conscious reading. Consciousness of reading consists in a clear and accurate understanding by the student of the text being read. A good way to sensible good reading is a clear and accurate understanding of what is read by the listeners. The basic requirements and conditions for the correct reading of students are also given. The main mistakes of students and teachers in teaching and mastering correct reading. When reading, the student must understand every word, every phrase, every sentence, in order to correctly and accurately understand the main thoughts expressed as a whole in the work, since the ultimate goal of reading is understanding the whole work

Abstract

Objective

We conducted a single-centre, randomised, double-blinded, placebo-controlled phase II clinical study to test safety and efficacy of a 12-week therapy with low-dose (700 mg/daily) or high-dose (2800 mg/daily) of NAC.

Methods

Twenty-one patients (ΔF508 homo/heterozygous, FEV1 > 40% pred.) were included in the study. After a 3-weeks placebo run-in phase, 11 patients received low-dose NAC, and 10 patients received high-dose NAC. Outcomes included safety and clinical parameters, inflammatory (total leukocyte numbers, cell differentials, TNF-α, IL-8) measures in induced sputum, and concentrations of extracellular glutathione in induced sputum and blood.

Results

High-dose NAC was a well-tolerated and safe medication. High-dose NAC did not alter clinical or inflammatory parameters. However, extracellular glutathione in induced sputum tended to increase on high-dose NAC.

Conclusions

High-dose NAC is a well-tolerated and safe medication for a prolonged therapy of patients with CF with a potential to increase extracellular glutathione in CF airways.</p

In this article, we examined the causes of the occurrence of latent chronic endometritis, which occurs in cows, the results of a laboratory examination, a biopsy of the uterine mucosa, and the results of histological examinations. We focused our experiments on treatment based on levofloxacin antibiotics, and ultimately proved in experiments the effective outcome of the treatment of latent chronic endometritis of cattle

Glutathione in induced sputum of healthy individuals and patients with asthma

BACKGROUND—Glutathione is central to the antioxidant defences of the lung. The aim of this study was to determine whether sputum induction can be used for the measurement of glutathione in the respiratory tract.
METHODS—Saliva and induced sputum (3% NaCl, 20 minutes) samples were collected from 10 healthy individuals and 10 patients with stable asthma receiving treatment with inhaled corticosteroids. Samples were chilled on ice and dispersed by dilution with ice cold phosphate buffered saline and pipetting. Cell-free supernatants were obtained by centrifugation of samples and filtration of supernatants and analysed for total glutathione, glutathione disulfide, and albumin content. The cells were treated with dithiothreitol and cell numbers, cell viability, and differential cell patterns were determined.
RESULTS—As judged by cell viability and percentage of non-squamous cells, adequate sputum samples were obtained from nine healthy and nine asthmatic subjects. The salivary total glutathione content was low (median concentration 1.2 µM (range 0.8-1.5) in healthy subjects and 0.9 µM (0.7-1.2) in asthmatic subjects). The sputum total glutathione content of both healthy and asthmatic subjects was within the same range (3.9 (1.0-12.3) µM and 6.4 (1.3-19.2) µM, respectively; p=0.35). Surprisingly, and in marked contrast to results obtained with bronchoalveolar lavage, sputum levels of glutathione disulfide represented more than 50% of the total glutathione in both groups (50.9% (range 24.6-83.1) and 72.3% (range 36.5-97.4), respectively; p=0.2).
CONCLUSIONS—The results of this study indicate that sputum induction can be used to measure the glutathione content of bronchial secretions. Sputum glutathione levels of stable asthmatic patients did not differ significantly from healthy controls.
