First Order Phase Transition in the 3-dimensional Blume-Capel Model on a Cellular Automaton
The first order phase transition of the three-dimensional Blume Capel are
investigated using cooling algorithm which improved from Creutz Cellular
Automaton for the parameter value in the first order phase transition
region. The analysis of the data using the finite-size effect and the histogram
technique indicate that the magnetic susceptibility maxima and the specific
heat maxima increase with the system volume () at .Comment: 13 pages, 4 figure
Investigation of branch breaking resistances in “Sari Zeybek” fig cultivar
The aim of this study was to examine the branch breaking characteristics of the 4 to 5 years old branches mechanically by a determination of the breaking resistance in Sari Zeybek fig cultivars. In this respect, the study was conducted with 10 different ages for trees belonging to Sarilop cultivar, known with a characteristic of drying and Sari Zeybek cultivar, known with equal or even better characteristics. The sclerenchyma tissues of the 1 to 5 aged branches of Sari Zeybek cultivar were weaker in degree than some other fruit tree species, especially the Sarilop cultivar. Furthermore, it was brought out that the breakages were related to the flexibility of tissues even with the excess forced application (150 kg.) in Sarilop. In Sari Zeybek cultivar, where there is an existence of the branch breakage problem, the length and diameters of branches increased with the increasing branch ages. In particular, the forces at the branch collar were increased due to the fruit weight increase in trees, starting with the 4 to 5 year aged branches. According to the approach of encouragement of branch breakages due to the aforementioned reason, it was taken seriously that shape prunings need to be made more carefully, and not allowed in over critical levels branch lengths and angles within 1 to 4 years growth in Sari Zeybek cultivar.Key words: Sari Zeybek, fig, branch breakage
Reentrant Phase Transitions of the Blume-Emery-Griffiths Model for a Simple Cubic Lattice on the Cellular Automaton
The spin-1 Ising (BEG) model with the nearest-neighbour bilinear and
biquadratic interactions and single-ion anisotropy is simulated on a cellular
automaton which improved from the Creutz cellular automaton(CCA) for a simple
cubic lattice. The simulations have been made for several sets of parameters
and in the and parameter regions.
The re-entrant and double re-entrant phase transitions of the BEG model are
determined from the temperature variations of the thermodynamic quantities
(, and ). The phase diagrams characterizing phase transitions are
compared with those obtained from other methods.Comment: 12 pages 7 figure
Occupational burnout and cyberloafing among teachers: Analysis of personality traits, individual and occupational status variables as predictors
One of the phenomena that causes remarkable losses in terms of
productivity and cost in organizations is occupational burnout. Burnout
is encountered in different occupational groups. However, in professions
that are in contact with a large number of people as part of their
responsibilities, such as teaching, burnout is a problem that is far
more on the foreground. In addition, emotional burnout, which is seen as
the first step before occupational burnout, can cause workers to feel
insufficient at the point of carrying out tasks related to their duties,
leading to behaviour that is out of their fields such as cyberloafing.
Addressing this situation in terms of teaching profession, the feeling
of inadequacy in educational activities during the course may prevent
the teacher from fulfilling any responsibilities while using a device
that has internet access. In this context, the aim of this study is to
investigate the factors that predict the cyberloafing and burnout levels
of teachers working in different fields. This research is a relational
research. This research was carried out with the participations of 194
teachers from different branches working in various provinces in Turkey.
In this study, a personal information form and three different data
collection tools were used. Analysis of the collected data was performed
by hierarchical linear multiple regression analysis. The 9 models,
created separately with cyberloafing and burnout, were found to be
significant in the study. Demographic variables, ICT usage status
variables, occupational variables and personality traits were used in
these models. Therefore, all the hypotheses included in the research
were accepted. As a result of the research, demographic variables were
found to be the most important model to predict teachers' occupational
burnout. The most important model explaining teachers' cyberloafing
situations is their ICT usage. (C) 2018 Western Social Science
