    Reentrant Phase Transitions of the Blume-Emery-Griffiths Model for a Simple Cubic Lattice on the Cellular Automaton

    The spin-1 Ising (BEG) model with the nearest-neighbour bilinear and biquadratic interactions and single-ion anisotropy is simulated on a cellular automaton which improved from the Creutz cellular automaton(CCA) for a simple cubic lattice. The simulations have been made for several sets of parameters K/JK/J and D/JD/J in the −3<D/J≤0-3<D/J\leq 0 and −1≤K/J≤0-1\leq K/J\leq 0 parameter regions. The re-entrant and double re-entrant phase transitions of the BEG model are determined from the temperature variations of the thermodynamic quantities (MM, QQ and χ\chi ). The phase diagrams characterizing phase transitions are compared with those obtained from other methods.Comment: 12 pages 7 figure

    The Critical Finite Size Scaling Relation of the Order-Parameter Probability Distribution for the Three-Dimensional Ising Model on the Creutz Cellular Automaton

    We study the order parameter probability distribution at the critical point for the three-dimensional spin-1/2 and spin-1 Ising models on the simple cubic lattice with periodic boundary conditions. The finite size scaling relation for the order parameter probability distribution is tested and verified numerically by microcanonical Creutz cellular automata simulations. The state critical exponent \delta, which characteries the far tail regime of the scaling order parameter probability distribution, is estimated for 3-d Ising models using the cellular automaton simulations at the critical temperature. The results are in good agreement with the monte carlo calculations.Comment: 8 pages 5 figure

    A bilateral and symmetrical variation of the anterior belly of the digastric muscle.

    We observed a bilateral and symmetrical variation of the anterior belly of the digastric muscle during the dissection of a 35-year-old female cadaver. The accessory muscle bundles were arranged in a cross. These bundles were found superficial to the mylohyoid muscle and deep in the platysma. Such a variation from perfect symmetry has not been previously reported. To avoid misinterpretation of radiological tests, it is important to be aware of bilateral and symmetrical variations of the anterior belly of the digastric muscle when examining the floor of the mouth and the submental region.</p

    First Order Phase Transition in the 3-dimensional Blume-Capel Model on a Cellular Automaton

    The first order phase transition of the three-dimensional Blume Capel are investigated using cooling algorithm which improved from Creutz Cellular Automaton for the D/J=2.9D/J=2.9 parameter value in the first order phase transition region. The analysis of the data using the finite-size effect and the histogram technique indicate that the magnetic susceptibility maxima and the specific heat maxima increase with the system volume (LdL^{d}) at % D/J=2.9.Comment: 13 pages, 4 figure

    A possible optical counterpart of the X-ray source NuSTARJ053449+2126.0

    In this work, we report the observation of a possible optical counterpart to the recently discovered X-ray source NuSTAR J053449+2126.0. To search for an optical counterpart of NuSTAR J053449+2126.0 (J0534 in short), we observed the source with the 1.5-m Telescope (RTT150). Using the B, V, R, and I images of J0534, we detected the possible optical counterpart of J0534 and determined, based on our spectral analysis, the source distance for the first time. J0534 could be a high-redshift member of an Active Galactic Nucleus (AGN) sub-group identified as a quasar. Our analysis favours an accreting black hole of mass ∼7×108M⊙\sim 7\times 10^8 M_{\odot} as a power supply for the quasar in J0534. Further observations in optical and other wavelengths are needed to confirm its nature.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figure

    Bilateral variations of the head of the digastric muscle in Korean: a case report

    The digastric muscle, as the landmark in head and neck surgery, has two bellies, of which various variations have been reported. In the submental region of a 72-year-old Korean male cadaver, bilateral variations were found in the anterior belly of the digastric muscle. Two accessory bellies, medial to the two normal anterior bellies of the digastric muscle, ran posterior and medially, merging and attaching at the mylohyoid raphe of the mylohyoid muscle. The 3rd accessory belly originated from the right intermediate tendon and ran horizontally, merging the right lower bundle of the right accessory belly and inserted together. These accessory bellies had no connection with the left anterior belly. This unique variation has not been reported in the literature previously, and this presentation will guide clinicians during surgical interventions and radiological diagnoses
