The aim of the study is to clarify and elucidate the phenomenon of the state of OTHER postmodernism as a subject of heterology, to show the importance and significance of such a characteristic as another within man himself, the other that regulates and purifies, which is reflected in heterologous reflections of postmodernism. The methodology of obtaining new knowledge is based on a comparative research method. Different human states and different understandings of the "other" in heterology were considered. "Other" can be understood as another person who has a completely different worldview, completely different natural properties, and can be understood as a certain state of man. Depending on this, the research methodology should be different. The scientific novelty is that for the first time such a phenomenon of human nature as the state of the OTHER and the recognition of man's own other within himself, which may be the subject of heterology, is considered. The Absolute Other is understood differently in heterology. This is another person who has a completely different worldview, which can not be understood. But this is the state of the OTHER man himself, the state of his special "I", when all unnecessary actions stop. In heterology, this condition is called differently. It is shown that heterology operates by understanding the category of "other" not only as "another person", but also as a certain state of man, the state of OTHER. Conclusions. It has been found that the OTHER postmodern, as a person's inner recognition of his own other within himself, can be understood as a compensatory enlightenment, which is an integral phenomenon of human nature. The state of the OTHER ceases all unimportant activity. Because of this there is a process of purification from obsolete, outdated thoughts and feelings. Purification is due to the fact that there are compensatory mechanisms of the psyche that are inherent in human nature, which are able to renew mental processes.

On the origin of extremely high strength of ultrafine-grained Al alloys produced by severe plastic deformation

Ultrafine-grained Al alloys produced by high pressure torsion are found to exhibit a very high strength, considerably exceeding the Hall-Petch predictions for the ultrafine grains. The phenomena can be attributed to the unique combination of ultrafine structure and deformation-induced segregations of solute elements along grain boundaries, which may affect the emission and mobility of intragranular dislocations

Sub-type checking at runtime with dynamic class loading

    Get PDF
Subtype checking is common in computer programs to determine whether an object or an array is a subtype of a class. This check is typically performed at runtime. Traditional techniques for subtype checking are slow since such techniques often need to traverse an entire class hierarchy to return a result. The techniques of this disclosure offer a faster alternative. Each class in the hierarchy is encoded. Leading bits or prefix in the encoding are used to determine, during dynamic class loading, whether a subclass relationship exists between a source class and a target class

Grain boundary segregation in UFG alloys processed by severe plastic deformation

Grain boundary segregations were investigated by Atom Probe Tomography in an Al-Mg alloy, a carbon steel and Armco\trademark Fe processed by severe plastic deformation (SPD). In the non-deformed state, the GBs of the aluminium alloy are Mg depleted, but after SPD some local enrichment up to 20 at.% was detected. In the Fe-based alloys, large carbon concentrations were also exhibited along GBs after SPD. These experimental observations are attributed to the specific structure of GBs often described as "non-equilibrum" in ultra fine grained materials processed by SPD. The grain boundary segregation mechanisms are discussed and compared in the case of substitutional (Mg in fcc Al) and interstitial (C in bcc Fe) solute atoms

In 2017–2018, the Kola Archaeological Expedition of the Institute of the History of Material Culture (IHMC) RAS carried out excavations at the medieval site of Liva 1 (a hearth-row site)in the Kovdor District of Murmansk Oblast. Sites of this type are fairly well studied in the western part of Sapmi – the area inhabited by the Sámi – but until now they have not beenknown in Russia. The site was found by local residents in 2010. Some of the structures there were destroyed or damaged when searching for artefacts with a metal detector. A total ofnine archaeological structures have been discovered (7 rectangular stone hearths, 1 mound, 1 large pit). Four hearths were excavated. They are of rectangular shape, varying in size from 2.0 x 1.15 to 2.5 x 1.7 metres. The fireplaces are lined with large stone blocks in one course, and the central part is filled with small stones in 2–3 layers. Animal bones, occasionallyforming concentrations, were found near the hearths. Throughout the area of the settlement, numerous iron objects (tools or their fragments) and bronzes were collected includingornaments made in manufacturing centres of Old Rus’, Scandinavia and the Baltic countries. The settlement is dated with radiocarbon analysis and the typology of the ornaments to the11th – 14th centuries

New challenges to Japan’s Indo-Pacific vision: COVIDtivity and the 2020s ‘Kindleberger moment’

    Get PDF
Connectivity infrastructure and its financing, as well as relevant regional visions and initiatives have consistently prominently figured in Japan’s diplomacy and development cooperation in the post-World War 2 and the post-Cold War periods. Following the emergence of the Indo-Pacific Vision, Japan’s international infrastructure initiatives came to the fore of this agenda. The COVID-19 pandemic, however, altered the connectivity landscape of the 2010s and affected global and regional connectivity in diverse ways, through dis-connectivity and re-connectivity: by disrupting and reshaping global value chains, affecting people’s mobility, and incentivizing state actors and commercial actors to readjust their approaches to connectivity, infrastructure, and finance. The crisis also created an additional opportunity for major powers to compete and cooperate in the exercise of providing public goods. This paper will examine the evolving role of connectivity infrastructure and finance in Japan’s development cooperation and its diplomacy vis-à-vis Asian and Eurasian countries in the COVID-19 pandemic environment of the early 2020s. Furthermore, this analysis will seek to test the applicability of Charles Kindleberger’s theories on concessional lending and the “stabilizer” role of major powers to the field of COVID-era connectivity with a particular focus on Asia

Automotive Electronic/Electric Architecture Modeling, Design Exploration and Optimization using Clafer

Modern car systems are getting more complex, so do car electronic/electric (E/E) architectures. E/E architecture of a car includes sensors, actuators, programmable ECUs and all the related communications. The complexity of E/E architectures increases dramatically: modern car have more than 100 of ECUs and communications spread over the entire vehicle. Therefore, the development of such architectures is a major challenge. Additional complexity comes from cross-cutting concerns, such as, variability and dependability. To manage this complexity and reduce costs, architects and engineers apply model-based methods to automate analysis, perform simulation, and make key decisions before the actual implementation. To quantify the analysis results, engineers use quality attributes, such as, cost, power consumption, complexity, maintainability, and wire length. Introduction of quality attributes also allows engineers to perform architecture optimization. In this work, we explore applicability of a modeling language called Clafer to address E/E architecture modeling, exploration and optimization problems. Clafer is a general-purpose domain-modeling language that comes with tools and solvers that are capable of performing consistency checking, design exploration and optimization. Clafer has minimalistic syntax, but its first-order logic based semantics is rich enough to represent a wide range of domains. Our main contributions include: formulation of Clafer domain modeling principles with respect to architecture modeling, identification of Clafer design patterns in general, and demonstration of applicability of Clafer to architecture exploration and optimization. To evaluate our approach, we develop the Power Window case study. The Power Window system's E/E architecture is a rich representative of a car E/E architecture: it can be decomposed into subsystems, it can have smart or dumb sensor and actuators, and it requires wire or bus communications within and across subsystems. We consider the following topics: representing Power Window system's features and functions, automated hardware topology generation, and automated deployment of functions to hardware. Our case case study concludes that Clafer is capable of representing all structural aspects of E/E architectures: from modeling a device to modeling an entire system. Clafer tools can facilitate automated deployment and hardware topology generation and perform architecture multi-objective optimization within a reasonable time. And finally, Clafer language features, such as arbitrary property nesting, result in clear, concise and lightweight structural models
