    THE EFFECT OF USING IMPROMPTU SPEECH TECHNIQUE TOWARD STUDENTSā€™ SPEAKING ABILITY AT THE SECOND YEAR OF STATE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL 12 PEKANBARU

    Based on school based curriculum (KTSP), speaking is one of skills in mastering English that must be taught and learned in senior high school. SMAN 12 Pekanbaru is one of schools that uses it as a guide in teaching learning process. After doing preliminary observation at SMAN 12 Pekanbaru, some of the students of the second year still have low ability in their speaking. The researcher interpret that they have low ability in speaking were indicated because they have lack of self confidence in expressing their ideas in English. Thus, the researcher interested to conduct the research entitle The Effect of Using Impromptu Speech Technique toward Studentsā€™ Speaking Ability at the Second Year of SMAN 12 Pekanbaru The type of the research was quasi-experimental research. The main focus of this research was to find out a significant difference of improvement of studentsā€™ speaking ability at the second year of SMAN 12 Pekanbaru between students who were taught by using impromptu speech technique and who were taught by using natural approach as the conventional way. The subject of this research was the second year students of SMAN 12 Pekanbaru. In this research, the researcher took six classes; experimental and control class from the nine classes. It meant that 91 students as the sample from 334 students of population by using clustering sample randomly based on group. In collecting the data, the researcher used test and observation list. The test used was oral presentation test. In analyzing the data, the researcher used SPSS16. Finally, the research found that the significant number was 0.000<0.05, and the implementation of Impromptu Speech Technique well done (95.83%). It means that there were still any missing item procedures. Based on the significance result above, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Besides, it can be proved from mean score of studentsā€™ speaking ability of post-test at experimental class was 61.40, while studentsā€™ speaking ability of post-test at control class was 51.20. Furthermore, the mean score improvement of studentsā€™ speaking at experimental class was 12.61 (26.75%) while in control class only 2.90 (7%). In conclusion, there is a significance difference of improvement of studentsā€™ speaking ability between students who were taught by using impromptu speech technique and who were taught by using conventional way; natural approach so, the difference on mean indicate that the use of impromptu speech technique is better than natural approach

    The problem in this research is low learning outcome of students who studied research method. The purpose of this research was to examine the effect of project based learning on learning outcomes of accounting research method. The research population consisted of 39 students. The sampling technique in this research is simple random sampling, so the research sample is 36 students. The data collection technique used in this research was test. The data analysis technique was paired sample t test. The results of the research proved that project based learning has a positive and significant effect on the learning outcomes of accounting research method, in other words, the higher the implementation of project based learning, the higher the learning outcomes of accounting research methods. In conclusion, project based learning can be used in learning accounting

    Penggunaan Media Kongkrit Untuk Meningkatan Hasil Belajar Siswa Kelas V SDN 2 Tatura Pada Materi Proses Pembentukan Tanah

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi proses pembentukan tanah melalui penerapan media kongkrit. Penelitian ini menggunakan bentuk penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam 2 (dua) siklus, tempat pelaksanaan penelitian di SD Negeri 2 Tatura dengan subjek penelitian seluruh siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 21 orang. Metode penelitian menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, dokumentasi dan tes. Analisis data dilakukan dengan 3 (tiga) tahapan meliputi: reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Hipotesis menyatakan bahwa diduga melalui penerapan media kongkrit dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar proses pembentukan tanah pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri 2 Tatura. Dari data empirik diperoleh fakta bahwa melalui penerapan media kongkritdapat meningkatkan hasil belajar proses pembentukan tanah dalampembelajaran IPA dari kondisi awal nilai rata-rata hasil belajar passing 56,1 dan 2 siswa (9,5%) yang mencapai nilai KKM, ke kondisi akhir siklus II nilai rata-rata hasil belajar passing siswa 67,8 (di atas nilai KKM), dan 19 siswa (90,4%) mencapai nilai KKM di kelas V SD Negeri 2 Tatura. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui penerapan media kongkrit dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar proses pembentukan tanah dalam pembelajaran IPA pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri 2 Tatura

    Effect Of Heat Treatment On Cellulose Crystallinity Of Empty Fruit Bunch Oil Palm Fiber And Its Relation To The Dimensional Stability Of Medium Density Fiberboard

    Oil Palm (Elaeis guinensis) is an important commercial agriculture plant in Malaysia generating a vast amount of residues, in the form of oil palm trunk (OPT), oil palm frond (OPF) and empty fruit bunch (EFB) which have high potential as raw material in wood-based industry. However, these lignocellulosic materials have poor dimensional stability i.e., high thickness swelling and water absorption. Cellulose crystallinity has been reported to influence the physical properties of the fibers. This study attempts to increase the cellulose crystallinity of oil palm EFB fiber via heat treatment and aimed i) to evaluate the effect of heating temperature on the cellulose crystallinity of oil pal EFB fiber ii) to determine the effect of cellulose crystallinity on thickness swelling (TS) and water absorption (WA) of Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) made from heat treated oil palm fibers and iii) to establish relationship between cellulose crystallinity and TS and WA.Oil palm EFB fibers were heated for two hours at different temperatures, 150Ā°C 160Ā°C, 170Ā°C, and 180Ā°C. Untreated samples were used as control. The crystallinity and crystallite size of the cellulose molecules were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. Chemical analyses were also conducted on both heat treated and untreated EFB fibers to determine the proximate amount of lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose. MDF with the size of 130mm x 130mm x 5mm were produced from these fibers. The density of the MDF was 700 Kgm-3. The effects of cellulose crystallinity to the TS and WA of board were examined. The proximate amount of chemical components in the EFB fiber in this study was found comparable with those of conventional wood. The lignin content was in the range of 20-27%, cellulose content was 40-47% and hemicellulose content was 23-25%. The results shows that crystallinity of oil palm EFB cellulose were 21.05% for untreated fiber, 27.09% for fiber heated at 150Ā°C, 26.68% at 160Ā°C, 26.53% at 170oC and 30.84% at 180oC. The corresponding crystallite sizes of the cellulose sample were 3.22 nm, 3.42 nm, 3.64, 3.38 nm and 2.93 nm respectively. Heat treatment was found to increase the cellulose crystallinity of EFB fiber but did not markedly affected the crystallite size. In this study, MDF made from heat treated EFB of oil palm fiber was found to have relatively high TS and WA and failed to pass the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS A 5906 ā€“ 1983). The TS were 15.9% in the MDF from untreated fiber,16.5% for the MDF from fiber heated at 150Ā°C,16.3% at 160Ā°C, 15.3% at 170Ā°C and 15.6% at 180Ā°C. Meanwhile the WA of the MDF boards was 77.7%, 81.0%, 79.5%, 83.2% and 71.8%, respectively. It was found that the increase in temperature in this study gave no effect to the TS but reduce the WA only at temperature of 180Ā°C. This study found that there were no trend found in the relatioship between cellulose crystallinity with TS and WA at various temperatures as the R-squares were very small. There was also no direct effect of increase in cellulose crystallinity to the TS and WA of MDF as the R-squares were very small. Even though the cellulose crystallinity of EFB fiber increased by heat treatment, it was not sufficient to impart dimensional stability to the MDF board

    Coping adalah suatu proses dimana individu berusaha untuk ā€œmanageā€ ketidak sesuaian yang dirasakan antara tuntutan dan sumber daya yang dimiliki dalam situasi yang menimbulkan stres (Sarafino, 1994:139). Untuk mengatasi dampak perkosaan baik secara fisik, seksual dan psikis remaja dapat melakukan upaya yang disebut dengan strategi mengatasi masalah atau disebut dengan istilah coping. Penelitian ini mengacu pada The Cope Scale yang dikemukakan oleh Carver karena lebih rinci sehingga diharapkan dapat memperoleh bentuk perilaku coping yang lebih spesifik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perilaku coping remaja korban perkosaan. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode kasus eksplanatoris. Informan penelitian ini tidak menggunakan sampel yang besar, melainkan dipilih secara selektif agar sesuai dengan kekhususan masalah penelitian dan kecocokan konteks. Ada beberapa teknik yang digunakan untuk memperoleh data dalam penelitian ini diantaranya : wawancara mendalam, observasi non partisipan, dan tes grafis. Teknik analisis data dimulai dengan wawancara berdasarkan topik, selanjutnya penganalisaan data perkasus dan memberikan penjelasan landasan kepustakaan yang terkait atau disebut dengan explanation building. Hasil analisis tersebut dikombinasikan dan dibandingkan pola, karakter dan cirinya dari teori yang dipakai, hal ini disebut dengan pattern-matching.     Islamic Elementary School Students/Elementary school Students need concrete objects in learning process, especially in learning mathematics. An interesting learning media makes students easy in understanding materials. However, there are many teachers still use conventional and traditional media such as textbooks. Teachers should modified the media to suit the this modern era. This study aims to determine the learning outcome of the first-grade students in MIN 3 Tapin using Dakon mathematics media. This study uses quantitative approach and a one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were all students in MIN 3 Tapin by total 184 people and the sample was the first-grade students in MIN 3 Tapin. Data collection techniques using test, interviews and documentation. Data analysis technique using t-test. The result shows that there as a significant influence between Dakon mathematics media and students learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the result of the t-test, namely t-count was 1,46 and t-table was 2,306.&nbsp; Itā€™s found that t-count was 11,46 &gt;t-table was 2,306 or t-count higher than t-table, its meant that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted

    PERBEDAAN HASIL BELAJAR MENGGUNAKAN METODE PEMECAHAN MASALAH DAN KONVENSIONAL

    Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar IPS menggunakan metode pemecahan masalah dan menggunakan metode konvensional pada siswa kelas VIII SMPN 9 Sampit tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu ada perbedaan hasil belajar siswa menggunakan metode pemecahan masalah dan metode konvensional pada siswa kelas VIII SMPN 9 Sampit. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji persyaratan analisis dengan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, serta uji hipotesis dengan independent sample (t test). berdasarkan hasil analisis data penelitian ini menunjukan nilai t hitung> t tabel (-5.884< -1.994) dengan nilai signifikansi (0.000 < 0.05) yang memiliki arti bahwa hipotesis diterima. Hal tersebut membuktikan bahwa ada perbedaan hasil belajar IPS menggunakan metode pemecahan masalah dan menggunakan metode konvensional pada siswa kelas VIII SMPN 9 Sampit. Nilai rata-rata siswa, kelas control yang menggunakan metode konvensional lebih rendah dibandingkan kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan metode pemecahan masalah (problem solving). Nilai rata-rata siswa menggunakan metode konvensional adalah 54,86 sedangkan nilai rata-rata menggunakan metode pemecahan masalah (problem solving)adalah 79,17

This study aims to examine and analyze the effects of economic growth, regional income, general pension funds and private pension funds on investment spending. The approaches used in this study are quantitative and descriptive. The population of this study was 33 counties/cities in North Sumatra using this technique, so the sample included 132 financial statements from 4 years of observations.     Pengaruh Pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning terhadap Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematika Siswa SMP

    Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan salah satu kemampuan penting yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa untuk dapat menyelesaikan berbagai permasalahan, baik permasalahan matematis maupun permasalahan yang terkait dalam kehidupan. Kenyataan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa SMP Negeri 11 Langsa masih kurang memuaskan. Siswa belum dapat memaksimalkan kemampuan dalam memecahkan permasalahan matematika. Oleh karena itu, guru perlu mengembangkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa, diantaranya melalui pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajarkan dengan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning lebih baik daripada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajarkan dengan pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional pada siswa SMP Negeri 11 Langsa. Desain eksperimen yang digunakan adalah control group pretest and posttest design. Sampel penelitian yaitu kelas VII-1 dan VII-2. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh thitung= 3.11 dan ttabel= 1.67 maka t_hitung>t_tabel, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning lebih baik daripada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajarkan dengan pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional pada siswa SMP Negeri 11 Langsa
