Background: Caregivers of schizophrenia patients have an important role in fulfiling the need of patients. This task implicates on care burden and physological problems on the caregivers. The quality of life of the caregivers may have important impact on the caring process. This study aimed to examine effect of locus of control, self-efficacy and personality type on the quality of life among caregivers of schizophrenia patient.Subjects and Method: This study was analytic observational with cross-sectional design. It was carried out at Godean Sub-District, Yogyakarta, from March to April 2017. A sample of 102 caregivers of schizophrenia patient were selected for this study by fixed diseases sampling. The dependent variable wa quality of life. The independent variables were age, gender, personality type, locus of control, self-efficacy, family concern, family income. The data was collected by questionnaire, and analyzed by path analysis. Results: Higher quality of life of caregivers was affected by self-efficacy (b=0.46; SE=0.15; p<0.001), extrovert personality (b=0.21; SE=0.10; p=0.01), and higher family income (b=0.18; SE=0.05; p=0.02). Self-efficacy was affected by better family concern (b=0.22, SE=0.16; p=0.02) and extrovert personality (b=0.33; SE=0.06; p<0.001).Conclusion: Higher quality of life of caregivers was directly affected by self-efficacy, extrovert personality, and higher family income. Higher quality of life of caregivers was indirectly affected by better family concern and extrovert personality. Keywords: quality of life, locus of control, self-efficacy, schizophrenia, caregiverCorrespondence: Mulyanti. Development of a simple, easy and low-cost software for designing of waveguide-coupled single and cascaded microring resonator (MRRs) using semi-numerical calculation based on transfer matrix method (TMM), is presented in this paper. The software uses a device model which is embedded on the high index contrast (HIC) structure of silicon-on-insulator (SOI) with monomodal cavity for TE-mode polarizations, operating around 1550 nm optical wavelength. The main aim of the software is to estimate the microring resonator performance parameters, such as free spectral range (FSR) and quality factor (Q-factor). The software is very simple and easy to use. With a standard laptop computer, it only takes few seconds to obtain transmission response, FSR and Q-factor of single MRR for varied waveguides separation distance and ring radius. The results were then verified using simulation method based on finite integration technique using 3D electromagnetic simulator, which need a high memory and processor of computer and take days to execute the simulation. We found only small discrepancy, which in averages are about 4.25% and 10.80% for FSR and Q-factor, respectively. In general, the results obtained from this software are closer to 3D electromagnetic simulation results

In this study, aimed to develop low-cost sensor based on fiber optic to assess ammonia index for fishpond application. Here, the simple design was proposed by using Evanescent wave type to assess ammonia index during acid rain event. The experiment result showed maximum absorption loss with variation ammonia mass 1~5% with wavelength 1310 nm from Optical Light Source (OLS) is 27.56 dBm while Optical Spectrum Analyzer (OSA) reached 25.86 dBm. We had calculated RMSE, MAE, and Percent Error (PE) value both of the device (Low-cost fiber optic chemical sensor and OSA) are 1.692%, 0.916%, and 98.833% respectively. A good result from low cost fiber optic chemical sensor has successful developed with lowest production less than 1,455 USD per-year

Modeling of SOI-based MRR by Coupled Mode Theory using Lateral Coupling Configuration

Get PDF
We present the modeling of a first order waveguide-coupled microring resonator (MRR) by coupled mode theory (CMT) using transfer matrix model. The design topology is based on the lateral coupling configuration and single mode propagation which is integrated on a Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) platform. Performance parameters including Free Spectral Range (FSR) and Quality Factor (Q-factor) are investigated. For verification, we compare these results with the results obtained from the Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) commercially available software. We found that both results agree well with each other

Photoluminescence and raman scattering of GaAs1-xBix alloy

Photoluminescence (PL) and Raman spectra of GaAs1-xBix samples grown at different rates (0.09 to 0.5 µm/h) were investigated. The PL peak wavelength initially redshifted with the increase of growth rate and reached the longest wavelength (1158 nm) for sample grown at 0.23 µm/h. This is followed by PL peak wavelength blueshift for higher growth rates. The Raman data show peaks at 162, 228, 270, and 295 cm-1 which can be attributed to GaAs like phonons. GaBi like vibrational modes were also observed at 183 and 213 cm-1. However, the intensity of Bi induced phonons is significantly weaker compared to GaAs due to low concentration of Bi compared to As and thin GaAs1-xBix epilayer. The PL data and GaAs transverse optical (TO) to longitudinal optical (LO) phonons intensity ratio indicate that Bi concentration is highly dependent on the growth rate and the highest Bi concentration was obtained by sample grown at 0.23 µm/h. It is found that the full-width-at-half-maximum (FWHM) of GaAs LO mode increases significantly for samples grown at high growth rates suggesting crystal quality degradation due to lack of surfactant effects

Water is a major human need whose utilization is increasing from time to time. In Indonesia, clean water is generally managed by PDAM (Regional Water Company), which is a company owned by the Regional Government which is engaged in the distribution of drinking water / clean water to the community. Water use by PDAMs generally uses a water meter that functions to measure the volume of water that has been used in m3 units. To check the amount of water used by the PDAM is done by sending officers to each customer every month to record one by one. This method is less effective and efficient and requires a lot of energy and costs. Therefore a prototype watermeter is made that can send the amount of water that has been used to the website using water flow sensors, valves, and ESP32. The test results obtained get a sensor reading accuracy of 98.12% and an error of 1.88%. Monitoring the use of water volume can also be seen on the website and the price that must be paid appears. And can cut off the flow of water using the valve water meter if the customer has problems making payments.
