Three-body correlations in direct reactions: Example of 6^{6}Be populated in (p,n)(p,n) reaction

    Get PDF
The 6^{6}Be continuum states were populated in the charge-exchange reaction 1^1H(6^{6}Li,6^{6}Be)nn collecting very high statistics data (5×106\sim 5 \times 10^6 events) on the three-body α\alpha+pp+pp correlations. The 6^{6}Be excitation energy region below 3\sim 3 MeV is considered, where the data are dominated by contributions from the 0+0^+ and 2+2^+ states. It is demonstrated how the high-statistics few-body correlation data can be used to extract detailed information on the reaction mechanism. Such a derivation is based on the fact that highly spin-aligned states are typically populated in the direct reactions.Comment: submitted to Physical Review

It is designed the Linear transformation of usual (two-dimensional) matrixes, which is named as simple symmetrical Procrustes transformation. The offered transformation can be used in recognition of the graphic presentations of physical objects and in decision of other problems.Разработано линейное преобразование обычных (двухмерных) матриц, которое названо простым симметричным Прокрустовым преобразованием. Предложенное преобразование может быть использовано в распознавании графических представлений физических объектов и в решении иных задач

The linear proportional transformation of two-dimensional matrices was developed. This transformation was implemented as a computer program and was applied to recognize handwritten Cyrillic letters. The proposed transformation showed higher recognition accuracy in comparison with other transformations.

The analysis of approaches to choice of templates at recognition of the graphic presentations of objects is executed. It is offered to use the statistical templates alongside with deterministic templates. Two ways of the statistical templates creation are offered. The testing of different templates and different methods of the recognition of the handwritten small letters and tree's sheets is performed. As a result the significant increasing of authenticity of recognition with statistical templates is discovered.

    \b{eta}-delayed three-proton decay of 31Ar

The beta decay of 31Ar, produced by fragmentation of a 36Ar beam at 880 MeV/nucleon, was investigated. Identified ions of 31Ar were stopped in a gaseous time projection chamber with optical readout allowing to record decay events with emission of protons. In addition to \b{eta}-delayed emission of one and two protons we have clearly observed the beta-delayed three-proton branch. The branching ratio for this channel in 31Ar is found to be 0.07(2)%.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures, submitted to Physical Rev.

This paper describes digital radio astronomical receivers used for decameter and meter wavelength observations. This paper describes digital radio astronomical receivers used for decameter and meter wavelength observations. Since 1998, digital receivers performing on-the-fly dynamic spectrum calculations or waveform data recording without data loss have been used at the UTR-2 radio telescope, the URAN VLBI system, and the GURT new generation radio telescope. Here we detail these receivers developed for operation in the strong interference environment that prevails in the decameter wavelength range. Data collected with these receivers allowed us to discover numerous radio astronomical objects and phenomena at low frequencies, a summary of which is also presented.Comment: 24 pages, 15 figure

4 pages, 4 figures, 2 tables.-- PACS nrs.: 21.10.Pc, 25.40.Ny, 27.20.+n.Resonances in the unbound nucleus N-11 have been studied, using the resonance scattering reaction C-10+p. The data give evidence for three states above the C-10+p threshold with energies 1.30, 2.04, and 3.72 MeV. These states can be interpreted, in a potential-model analysis, as the ground state and the first two excited states with spin-parity 1/2(+), 1/2(-), and 5/2(+) arising from the shell-model orbitals 1s(1/2), Op(1/2), and Od(5/2). A narrow state superposed on a broad structure found at higher energy could be interpreted as the mirror state of the 3/2(-) in Be-11 shifted down in energy. This shift would suggest a large radius of the potential. We acknowledge financial support from the European Community under Contract No. CHGE-CT94-0056 (Human Capital and Mobility, Access to the GANIL large scale facility) and from the Russian Foundation RFFI.Peer reviewe
