Cultural communication has obliquely shapes society relationships with another for the sake of togetherness prosperity. Diversity of norms and values from cultural symbols are able to be transferred as connecting elements in order to create interaction that is based on mutual comprehension of cultural norms. This study objective is to comprehend Bawean ethnic's cultural communication symbol. Employing qualitative methods, social construction paradigm is perceived through in-depth interview. This methodology adapted to realize the meaning of cultural communication between Bawaean and the other Malay sub-ethnicity. There are one main informant and ten other informant whom have been interviewed face-to-face. The result has shown that Bawean ethnic's cultural communication symbol such as language, cuisine, martial arts and religious rituals are the main elements in Bawean ethnic's cultural communication. In conclusion, cultural communication between Bawean ethnic and other ethnic has taken place according to the situations as either inside or outside the group. Cultural similarities has facilitate cultural communication tranquility. It creates social integration with relation to the ethnic relationship processes such as acculturation, accommodation and integration

Intellectual Capital (IC) Determinants: Impact on Productivity of Islamic Banks

This research aimed to investigate the relationship between the Intellectual Capital (IC) efficiency empirically. It consisted of human capital, structural capital, capital employed, and relational capital with the impact on the productivity of Islamic banks in Malaysia. The Pulic\u27s Value-Added Intellectual Coefficient (VAIC) method with the extended and modified version introduced by former scholars was used to measure IC, whereas bank productivity was measured through Assets Turnover Ratio (ATO). Three internal factors that might have determinants effect on VAIC, namely bank size, bank risks, and leverage were further tested to find their relationship. Structural stability tests and dynamic regression models for panel data were also used for the data of 16 Islamic banks in Malaysia from 2009 to 2016. The panel-corrected standard errors estimation technique was used to estimate a panel regression model with bank productivity and VAIC as the dependent variables. The regression analysis suggests that Malaysian Islamic banks are depending heavily on the capital employed component of intellectual capital, followed by human capital, structural capital, and relational capital. The results also suggest that bank\u27s risks and leverage play a major role in determining intellectual capital. The findings may serve as a useful input for Islamic bankers to indicate whether the contribution of intellectual capital and its components needs further improvement which it has produced the best results, and internal factor might affect IC

This study suggests that natural sources may become an important tool in treating cancer. Neolamarckia cadamba (NC) leaves also well-known as “Anthocephalus Cadamba”, is a precious plant in Ayurvedic medicine. HeLa cells are one of the examples of eukaryotic cells type. It is derived from human cervical cancer cells. This experiment is conducted in different concentrations of NC Leaves (1μg/ml, 5μg/ml, 10μg/ml, 20μg/ml, 30μg/ml, 40μg/ml, 50μg/ml, 60μg/ml, 70μg/ml, 80μg/ml, 90μg/ml and 100μg/ml) for 48 hours. This experiment’s result proves that the anti-cancer properties of the extract of NC leaves are by increasing the concentration of extract, the numbers of cell viability will decrease. For contribution, the process of NC leaves extract will be combined with the electroporation process to investigate the effect on HeLa cell. Electroporation parameters used for this study were (voltage 600v/cm, pulse duration 5ms, single pulse)

The use of reflection mode ultrasonic transceiver sensor in pipeline inspection guage to monitor pipeline internal corrosion

Aging gas transmission pipelines are prone to internal corrosion due to the presence of carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide in the natural gas constituents. Commonly, the in-line inspection tool known as Pipeline Inspection Gauge (PIG) is applied to perform the corrosion inspection of the pipeline. This paper describes an ultrasonic instrumentation system for PIG to monitor internal corrosion of pipeline. The system consists of ultrasonic transceiver sensor, ultrasonic driving circuitry and data acquisition system. The hardware is equipped with a sensor carrier which is propelled along the test pipeline. The time of flight (TOF) of the ultrasonic wave is measured and was used to evaluate the internal corrosion of pipeline. An initial experimental instrument was set up to perform the distance measurement test at a frequency of 390 kHz, to simulate the changes of pipe wall thickness due to corrosion effect. Surface anomalies were created at different positions to simulate the changes of pipe wall thickness due to the corrosion effect. Variation in measured distances implied the existence of the surface anomalies. The results of the simulated surface anomalies showed that the percentage error was less than + 5%. The large value of average DC voltage gave indication of distance increment due to the depth of the surface anomalies. The developed ultrasonic instrumentation system is capable to monitor the internal corrosion of pipeline

The replanting operation of an oil palm as a whole need to meet the timeline provided. As holing is one of the processes in replanting operation, it is also important to complete it on time. Holing can be done either manually or mechanically. This study was conducted to evaluate the energy uses in two types of holing methods. Other than energy, the working performance over time and cost that involved in both methods was also evaluated. The data is taken at FGV Tembangau 7. The parameter taken was the food consumption of the labor, the amount of fuel used by the tractor, the area covered within a time, and the cost that involved the two methods of holing. The data then been analyzed using a formula to determine the energy usage. The result showed that the energy consumption by the labor which taken from the energy content of each food they eat is 6.388 MJ and the amount of fuel used by the tractor is 244.20 MJ. The labor can covered 0.72 hectare per day and the auger can covered 3.26 hectare in the same working hour. The cost of paying labor wages is RM 70 per day where the cost of using mechanically is RM 495 per day. It can be concluded that mechanical method is better than manual method. Many companies can use this case study to gain information and to make decision in choosing which method they could use in their plantation

Nowadays, the information and communication technology (ICT) has become the most important medium for business and entrepreneurship world of timely information especially in commercial area. A computerized-based information system plays a vital role inthe success ofan enterprise. It provides the information a business needs for efficient operations, effective management and competitive advantage easily and quickly. In this project, the author introduces the project concepts that will focus onbusiness models selection for an entrepreneur to choose and adopted the best and right business models that suits them a knowledge-based scheme for facilitating their small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The project is developed using the waterfall model of system development life cycle approach. Waterfall model is one of the most popular incremental project development methodologies. The development of the project conducted by sequence starting with analysis, design, develop, test, and lastly implementation. The prototype covers the presentation of static beneficial data and information required by the SMEs entrepreneurs. The prototype developed has simplified the business by having appropriate documents to publish the data. Eventhough, the prototype not fully covered andcompleted all aspects of SMEs it is deem necessarily for the knowledge and information for existed and future entrepreneurs. By using the prototype, it is very beneficial for a future entrepreneur to have some kind of guidelines and procedures from the references before starting opting for the best businesses to be run. Finally, the author hopes thatthisproject will really be beneficial since it isway to help the to-be entrepreneur to manage the skills and knowledge of its selected business models
