Classificação ACM: H.2.8 Database Applications – Data Mining, H.4.2 Types of Systems – Decision
The growth of social media lead, in the past few years, to a significant increase of the online reviews
that reflect buying decisions. These reviews, on one hand facilitate companies to acquire information
regarding the perception of consumers, but on the other hand help and influence consumers to center
their attention on the reviews that are better suited for their needs, thus filtering a huge amount of
irrelevant information to meet their requirements.
This project aims at addressing these issues and give some useful answers by using the Yelp
platform. This study involves the extraction of 14.000 reviews, related to different tourism products, with
the respective votes (useful). Text mining techniques were applied in order to identify and extract the
main subjective sentiments (positives, negatives and neutral), topics and terms behind each review
which then enabled us to understand the usefulness of the reviews.
Throughout this study and by using the CRISP-DM methodology, the researcher organized the
reviews by topics, has built a word cloud of the most used terms, performed the sentiment analysis on
the reviews, the entities and related topics and finally built the predictive models, by measuring the train
and test set.
The results show that the logistic regression model is the best predictive model, where the
terms: chair, valley, neighborhood and place food are the most important to explain the usefulness of
comments. Still, it was possible to group the comments on 20 topics where the topic “Buffet” proved to
be the most useful and positive sentiment
Perspectives for medicinal cannabis in Argentina: Advances in clinical trials in the world and Its use for chronical pain treatments
Cannabis is used around the world for medicinal, religious and recreational purposes. In 2018, the Argentine Republic approved new legislation, adapting to the provisions of the WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION. Law No. 27,350 regulates medical and scientific research on the medicinal, therapeutic and / or palliative use of the Cannabis plant and its derivatives. At the time of this publication, 5 projects were approved for the production of plant material and scientific studies. This work aims to show the results of the latest studies published in the world, on the effectiveness of treatment with medicinal cannabis or cannabinoids, in voluntary patients with chronic pain.Fil: Sesto Cabral, María Eugenia. Leukotriene D4-induced Caco-2 cell proliferation is mediated by prostaglandin E2 synthesis
Leukotriene D4 (LTD4) is a pro-inflammatory mediator formed from arachidonic acid through the action of 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX). Its biological effects are mediated by at least two G-coupled plasmatic cysteinyl LT receptors (CysLT1-2R). It has been reported an upregulation of the 5-LOX pathway in tumor tissue unlike in normal colon mucosa. Colon tumors generally have an increased expression of CysLT1R and colon cancer patients with high expression levels of CysLT1R have poor prognosis. We previously observed that the cyclooxygenase pathway is involved in the control of intestinal epithelial cancer cell growth through PGE2 production. The aim of this study was therefore to assess the effect of LTD4 binding with CysLT1R on Caco-2 cell growth. We note a number of key findings from this research. We observed that at a concentration similar to that found under inflammatory conditions, LTD4 was able to induce Caco-2 cell proliferation and DNA synthesis. Moreover, with the use of a specific receptor antagonist this study has demonstrated that the effect of LTD4 is a result of its interaction with CystLT1R. We also note the possible participation of the PLC-IP3-Ca2+/DAG-PKC signaling pathways in cytosolic PLA2 and [3H]AA release induced by LTD4-CystLT1R interaction. Finally, we found that the resulting activation of the AA cascade and the production of PGE2 eicosanoid could be related to the activation of cell signaling pathways such as ERK and CREB. These findings will help facilitate our understanding of how inflammatory mediators can affect the survival and dissemination of intestinal carcinoma cells
Bacterial nano cellulose as non-active pharmaceutical ingredient: Advances and perspectives
Nano Cellulose is commonly produced by the top-down enzymatic, mechanical and/or chemical treatments. In contrast, Bacterial Nano Cellulose (BNC) can be obtained by a bottom-up approach, where is biosynthesized from glucose using the direct action of specific bacterial strains. BNC impart attractive combinations of biologic and physicochemical characteristics such as biocompatibility, biodegradability, light weight, sustainability, and improved mechanical properties. The trend towards environmental sustainability and development of renewable resources has significantly increased interest. A critical aspect in BNC production is to identify a low-cost culture medium that can improve the yield of BNC and can be used as an economically viable solution for application in a range of fields. There is an immense perspective of BNC in health care as well as drug applications. Potential uses include barrier films, antimicrobial films, pharmaceuticals and drug delivery systems. Even though BNC has been demonstrated as nongenotoxic and noncytotoxic, further studies are required to completely address such issue. Key aspects for future development include the design of BNC for specific user requirements, the reduction of production costs, and the customization/functionalization using post production steps and different types of compounding/processing.Fil: González, Exequiel Elías. Bacterial nano cellullose as non-active pharmaceutical ingredient production optimization, quality control development and prototype design
Materials from bio-based resources have attracted immense research interest in recent years as a result of their very high potentials for fabricating several high-value products with low impact on the environment. Cellulose produced by some bacteria has received great attention. Bacterial Nano Cellulose (BNC) imparts attractive combinations of biophysicochemical characteristics and improved mechanical properties. The aims of this work was to develop growth media for increase BNC production, characterize a non-active pharmaceutical ingredient (NAPI), design an efficient quality control method by FTIR and SEM by compared that NAPI with commercial ones and present a first prototype of a pharmaceutical product. LB and KB media were modified and BNC obtained had better quality respect its crystallinity and/or polymerization degree than the BNC from commercial media. Different extraction processes were proposed, in no case microbiological material remnants has been found. Films for controlled drugs release prototype were made and its physical properties such as water solubility, moisture content, swelling property, UV barrier capacity were evaluated. BNC films present an additional advantage, having lower UV permeability than films with cellulose of vegetal origin, adding potentialities to a patch design that protects the tissue and the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients.
Taking into consideration the latest decision to "extinguish" civil governments, insufficient studies on the subject, and the political agenda in the Portuguese society in the last few years concerning the administrative reform of the Country, this research work aims at bringing to light the framework of the so-called "extinction" of civil governments, so as to understand the relevance, meaning, necessity and legitimation of the existence and functioning of Civil Governments. In order to do that we carried out an analysis in three different dimensions - historical-cultural, administrative-territorial, and legal-constitutional - within the framework of the decision of the "extinction" of the Civil Governments and the respective closure process, without neglecting the study of the competencies and functions credited to Civil Governments. As far as the empirical analysis is concerned, a quantitative methodological approach was used, supported by a questionnaire survey. The target population was constituted by the universe of the Ministry of Internal Administration and by the former Civil Governors, current deputies and presidents of municipal councils, with a final sample that includes 97 respondents. Afterwards, follow the presentation, analysis and interpretation of the results and further discussion of the results. If, on the one hand, the results show the unnecessity and de-legitimizing of the Civil Governments in the administrative-territorial domain, in the sense that they must evolve and give rise to administrative reform and regionalization, on the other hand, that already seems ambivalent in a juridical-constitutional dimension due to lack of political and democratic legitimacy of its existence and functioning regarding its maintenance and relevance. In the future, it urges to correlate and articulate conclusions of the study with the constitutional prognosis of the Government Representative, the comparative legislation in the EU countries where the Civil Governors or equivalent entities still subsist, and the limits of municipalism.N/

The article analyzes the content of education for global citizenship (UNESCO), questioningthe transformative perspectives announced and “pitfalls” contained in the text. It is madefrom a critical perspective, adding to the tradition of Marxism (especially Wood andMészáros), the peripheral and “decolonial” standpoint, highlighting the contributions ofPazello and Freire. It argues that, in the context of educational reformism, EGC is reducedto neoliberal discourse, an instrument of imperialism/coloniality, in the globalizationof capitalism. The article rejects this proposal and brings contributions to the reflectionon “emancipating” possibilities, through the decolonial critical and “tactical” use of thelanguage of education, human rights and democracy.
