Multiplexed Ultrasensitive Determination of Adrenocorticotropin and Cortisol Hormones at a Dual Electrochemical Immunosensor

    Get PDF
A novel dual electrochemical immunosensor for the multiplexed determination of adrenocorticotropin (ACTH) and cortisol is reported. Aminophenylboronic acid-modified dual screen-printed carbon electrodes were prepared on which the corresponding ACTH and cortisol antibodies were immobilized. Competitive immunoassays involved biotinylated ACTH and alkaline phosphatase labelled streptavidin, or alkaline phosphatase labelled cortisol. Differential pulse voltammetry upon 1-naphtyl phosphate addition was employed to monitor the affinity reactions. The ranges of linearity were 5.0×10−5−0.1 and 0.1−500 ng/mL for ACTH and cortisol. The usefulness of the dual immunosensor was demonstrated by analyzing certified human serum samples with good recoveries

A series of sterically demanding aryl phosphine ligands (L) bearing terphenyl substituents, PR2Ar′ (R = hydrocarbyl, Ar′ = 2,6-diarylphenyl radical) has been prepared and characterized. The stability of these ligands towards oxidation in the air has been tested, and theoretical and experimental studies aimed to provide information on their electronic and steric properties have been performed. Treatment of the metal dimers [MCl(COD)]2(M = Rh, Ir; COD = 1,5-cyclooctadiene) with ligands PMe2ArXyl2(L1) and PMe2ArDipp2(L5), in a 1:1 metal:ligand ratio, afforded the expected square-planar 16-electron complexes [MCl(COD)(PMe2ArXyl2)] and [MCl(COD)(PMe2ArDipp2)], respectively. These compounds were readily converted into the corresponding dicarbonyl derivatives, [MCl(CO)2(PMe2ArXyl2)] and [MCl(CO)2(PMe2ArDipp2)], respectively. While the expected κ1-P coordination mode of the PR2Ar′ ligands is found for these rhodium and iridium species, the mononuclear Pt(II) derivative obtained by reaction of PtCl2with PMe2ArDipp2has composition [PtCl2(PMe2ArDipp2)], and exhibits a bidentate κ1-P, η1-arene coordination mode involving one of the ipso carbon atoms of a flanking terphenyl aryl ring. The corresponding carbonyl compound [PtCl2(CO)(PMe2ArDipp2)], was generated under a CO atmosphere and exhibits κ1-P coordination mode.Ministerio de Ciencia CTQ2013-42501-P, CTQ2014-51912-REDC, CTQ-2014-52769-C3-3-RJunta de Andalucía FQM-119 P09-FQM-4832, FQM-2126European Union 26722

This study evaluates the creative potential of different apps (N=20) oriented to the de-sign of digital storytelling (DST), directed to users from 6 to 12 years, using the CREAPP K6-12 instrument, made of 48 indicators related to the 5 dimensions of creativity: flexibility, originality, fluency, product elaboration and problem solving, co-edition and dissemination. After adopting descriptive and multivariate statistical techniques, the results show that 76.6% of these apps have great flexibility, 73.4% favor originality, 72.4% present resources and function-alities endowing them with great fluidity, 68.3% encourage the creation of creative products, 56.5% promote the resolution of problems, yet only 36.3% prevail the co-edition and dissemination of stories in networks. The correlations show that the most flexible app stimulates originality and fluency, propitiates problem solving and promotes the elaboration of creative products. The index of creative potentiality of the apps is calculated, establishing a competitiveness ranking, which offers keys to the Primary teachers to elaborate didactic proposals that promote creativity through the design of DST

Microbiólogo (a) IndustrialPregrad

Magnetic reduced graphene oxide/nickel/platinum nanoparticles micromotors for mycotoxin analysis

Magnetic reduced graphene oxide/nickel/platinum nanoparticles (rGO/Ni/PtNPs) micromotors for mycotoxin analysis in food samples were developed for food-safety diagnosis. While the utilization of self-propelled micromotors in bioassays has led to a fundamentally new approach, mainly due to the greatly enhanced target?receptor contacts owing to their continuous movement around the sample and the associated mixing effect, herein the magnetic properties of rGO/Ni/PtNPs micromotors for mycotoxin analysis are additionally explored. The micromotor-based strategy for targeted mycotoxin biosensing focused on the accurate control of micromotor-based operations: 1) on-the-move capture of free aptamers by exploiting the adsorption (outer rGO layer) and catalytic (inner PtNPs layer) properties and 2) micromotor stopped flow in just 2 min by exploiting the magnetic properties (intermediate Ni layer). This strategy allowed fumonisin B1 determination with high sensitivity (limit of detection: 0.70 ngmL@1) and excellent accuracy (error: 0.05% in certified reference material and quantitative recoveries of 104:4% in beer) even in the presence of concurrent ochratoxin A (105?108:8% in wines). These results confirm the developed approach as an innovative and reliable analytical tool for food-safety monitoring, and confirm the role of micromotors as a new paradigm in analytical chemistry.Ministerio de Economía y CompetitividadComunidad de Madri
