Modeling and multivariable control of the urban electric vehicle UAL-eCARM
[EN] This work presents the modeling and complete control of the Drive-by-Wire system of an electric urban vehicle. This system includes the steering mechanism, acceleration and brake of the vehicle. The modeling has been performed using low-order transfer functions using “black box” models. In regards to control, all developed controllers are of the PID type in their different configurations. The direct current actuators coupled to the steering and brake are controlled by a cascade control system while the acceleration is controlled by a gain scheduling system. The project source code is freely available on Github. Experimental results demonstrate the validity of the models obtained, as well as the effectiveness of the developed controllers.[ES] Este trabajo presenta el modelado y control completo del sistema Drive-by-Wire de un vehículo urbano eléctrico. Dicho sistema comprende el mecanismo de dirección, la aceleración y el freno del vehículo. El modelado se ha realizado empleando funciones de transferencia de bajo orden haciendo uso de modelos de “caja negra”. En lo referente al control, todos los controladores desarrollados son del tipo PID en sus distintas configuraciones. Los actuadores de corriente continua acoplados a la dirección y freno se controlan mediante un sistema de control en cascada mientras que la aceleración está controlada por un sistema de planificación de ganancias. El código del proyecto se encuentra disponible en la plataforma Github. The analytic hierarchy process to support decision-making processes in infrastructure projects with social impact
There is an increasing awareness among all kinds of organisations (in business,government and civil society) about the benefits of jointly working with stakeholders
to satisfy both their goals and the social demands placed upon them. This is particularly the case within corporate social responsibility (CSR) frameworks. In this regard, multi-criteria tools for decision-making like the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) described in the paper can be useful for the building relationships with stakeholders. Since these tools can reveal decision-maker’s preferences, the
integration of opinions from various stakeholders in the decision-making process may result in better and more innovative solutions with significant shared value.

PARTOS - Passive and Active Ray TOmography Software: description and preliminary analysis using TOMO-ETNA experiment’s dataset.
In this manuscript we present the new friendly seismic tomography software based on joint inversion of active and passive seismic sources called PARTOS (Passive Active Ray TOmography Software). This code has been developed on the base of two well-known widely used tomographic algorithms (LOTOS and ATOM-3D), providing a robust set of algorithms. The dataset used to set and test the program has been provided by TOMO-ETNA experiment. TOMO-ETNA database is a large, highquality dataset that includes active and passive seismic sources recorded during a period of 4 months in 2014. We performed a series of synthetic tests in order to estimate the resolution and robustness of the solutions. Real data inversion has been carried out using 3 different subsets: (i) active data; (ii) passive data; and (iii) joint dataset. Active database is composed by a total of 16,950 air-gun shots during 1 month and passive database includes 452 local and regional earthquakes recorded during 4
months. This large dataset provides a high ray density within the study region. The combination of active and passive seismic data, together with the high quality of the database, permits to obtain a new tomographic approach of the region under study never done before. Influence of orthodontic treatment on temporomandibular disorders: a systematic review
Objectives: The aim of this literature systematic review was to evaluate the possible association between malocclusions, orthodontic treatment and development of temporomandibular disorders.
Material and Methods: A search was carried out on PubMed-Medline database from January 2000 to August 2013
using the keywords “
orthodontics and temporomandibular disorders
”, “
orthodontics and facial pain
” and “
malocclusion and temporomandibular disorders
”. Human studies included in the study were those assessing signs and
symptoms of temporomandibular disorders in relation to orthodontic treatment.
Results: The search strategy resulted in 61 articles. After selection according to the inclusion/exclusion criteria 9
articles qualified for the final analysis. The articles which linked orthodontics and development of temporomandibular disorders showed very discrepant results. Some indicated that orthodontic treatment could improve signs and
symptoms of temporomandibular disorders, but none of them obtained statistically significant dif
ferences.
Conclusions: According to the authors examined, there is no evidence for a cause-effect relationship between orthodontic treatment and temporomandibular disorders, or that such treatment might improve or prevent them. More

Advances on the automatic estimation of the P-wave onset time.
This work describes the automatic picking of the P-phase arrivals of the 3*10^6 seismic registers originated during the TOMO-ETNA experiment. Air-gun shots produced by the vessel “Sarmiento de Gamboa” and contemporary passive seismicity occurring in the island are recorded by a dense network of stations deployed for the experiment. In such scenario, automatic processing is needed given: (i) the enormous amount of data,
(ii) the low signal-to-noise ratio of many of the available registers and, (iii) the accuracy needed for the velocity tomography resulting from the experiment. A preliminary processing is performed with the records obtained from all stations. Raw data formats from the different types of stations are unified, eliminating defective records and reducing noise through filtering in the band of interest for the phase picking. The advanced multiband picking algorithm (AMPA) is then used to process the big database obtained and determine the travel times of the seismic phases. The approach of AMPA, based on frequency multiband denoising

PICOSS: Python Interface for the Classification of Seismic Signals
Over the last decade machine learning has become increasingly popular for the analysis and characterization of volcano-seismic data. One of the requirements for the application of machine learning methods to the problem of classifying seismic time series is the availability of a training dataset; that is a suite of reference signals, with known classification used for initial validation of the machine outcome. Here, we present PICOSS (Python Interface for the Classification of Seismic Signals), a modular data-curator platform for volcano-seismic data analysis, including detection, segmentation and classification. PICOSS has exportability and standardization at its core; users can select automatic or manual workflows to select and label seismic data from a comprehensive suite of tools, including deep neural networks. The modular implementation of PICOSS includes a portable and intuitive graphical user interface to facilitate essential data labelling tasks for large-scale volcano seismic studies
All-particle cosmic ray energy spectrum measured by the HAWC experiment from 10 to 500 TeV
We report on the measurement of the all-particle cosmic ray energy spectrum
with the High Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) Observatory in the energy range
10 to 500 TeV. HAWC is a ground based air-shower array deployed on the slopes
of Volcan Sierra Negra in the state of Puebla, Mexico, and is sensitive to
gamma rays and cosmic rays at TeV energies. The data used in this work were
taken from 234 days between June 2016 to February 2017. The primary cosmic-ray
energy is determined with a maximum likelihood approach using the particle
density as a function of distance to the shower core. Introducing quality cuts
to isolate events with shower cores landing on the array, the reconstructed
energy distribution is unfolded iteratively. The measured all-particle spectrum
is consistent with a broken power law with an index of prior to
a break at ) TeV, followed by an index of . The
spectrum also respresents a single measurement that spans the energy range
between direct detection and ground based experiments. As a verification of the
detector response, the energy scale and angular resolution are validated by

Nuclear astrophysics with radioactive ions at FAIR

in the s and r processes. However, 32 stable, proton-rich isotopes cannot be formed during
those processes, because they are shielded from the s-process
ow and r-process -decay chains.
These nuclei are attributed to the p and rp process.
For all those processes, current research in nuclear astrophysics addresses the need for more
precise reaction data involving radioactive isotopes. Depending on the particular reaction, direct
or inverse kinematics, forward or time-reversed direction are investigated to determine or at least
to constrain the desired reaction cross sections.
The Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) will oer unique, unprecedented
opportunities to investigate many of the important reactions. The high yield of radioactive
isotopes, even far away from the valley of stability, allows the investigation of isotopes involved
