    Building an Aotearoa New Zealand-wide Digital Curation Community of Practice

    How do you build awareness and capability for digital curation knowledge and experience across a country? The National Library of New Zealand has a statutory role in supporting and advancing the work of Aotearoa New Zealand libraries to ensure documentary heritage and taonga is collected and preserved across the country’s memory system. This role includes supporting the collecting and curation of born-digital content. Aotearoa New Zealand’s Gallery Library Archive Museum (GLAM) sector is small but varied and diverse, so requires a flexible and adaptive plan to grow experience and capability in this area. This paper will describe the background research undertaken to gain a better understanding of the current environment, describe the development and delivery of pilot training in managing born-digital archival content, and outline our next steps. Driving this effort has been two foundational principles: 1) theory and practice are always in conversation with each other and practical hands-on experience is as important as theoretical knowledge and understanding; and 2) the work of growing capability should be done in a spirt of collaboration and partnership, meeting each other as equals and learning from each other

    Las intervenciones de enfermería tienen inmersos todos los cuidados independientes para cumplir el objetivo de llegar de forma satisfactoria a las pacientes, el propósito de la investigación es analizar las intervenciones de enfermería según normativa y aplicación de cuidados durante la atención del parto de bajo riesgo en el centro de salud Tomas Borge Martínez de Ciudad Sébaco, Matagalpa II semestre 2016, es de importancia porque se obtiene conocimiento acerca de la eficacia y eficiencia de las intervenciones aplicadas en los cuidados con las pacientes en estudio, logra involucrar al personal de salud y estudiantes en el manejo de los cuidados de enfermería aplicando correctamente las normas y protocolos de bajo riesgo, donde las principales conclusiones fueron: a). Se documentaron las intervenciones de enfermería durante la atención del parto de bajo riesgo en la Normativa 011 (2015), en la normativa 042 (2009) en Schwartz (2008- 2010) por cada periodo del parto. b) Se compararon las intervenciones de enfermería en los tres periodos del parto con el cuidado aplicado durante la atención en las pacientes en estudio las cuales en su mayoría se realizaron de forma incorrecta. c) Se evaluaron las intervenciones aplicadas en el cuidado a las pacientes en estudio y dieron como resultado insatisfactorio.     Does achieving the best practice tariff improve outcomes in hip fracture patients? An observational cohort study

    Objectives: To determine if the introduction of the best practice tariff (BPT) has improved survival of the elderly hip fracture population, or if achieving BPT results in improved survival for an individual. Setting: A single university-affiliated teaching hospital. Participants: 2,541 patients aged over 60 admitted with a neck of femur fracture between 2008 and 2010 and from 2012 to 2014 were included, to create two cohorts of patients, before and after the introduction of BPT. The post-BPT cohort was divided into two groups, those who achieved the criteria and those who did not. Primary and Secondary Outcome Measures: Primary outcomes of interest were differences in mortality across cohorts. Secondary analysis was performed to identify associations between individual BPT criteria and mortality. Results: The introduction of BPT did not significantly alter overall 30-mortality in the hip fracture population (8.3% pre-BPT vs 10.0% post-BPT; p = 0.128). Neither was there a significant reduction in length of stay (15 days (IQR 9-21) pre-BPT vs 14 days (IQR 11-22); p=0.236). However, the introduction of BPT was associated with a reduction in the time from admission to theatre (median 44hours pre-BPT (IQR 24-44) vs 23hours post-BPT (IQR 17-30); p<0.005). 30-day mortality in those who achieved BPT was significantly lower (6.0% vs 21.0% in those who did not achieve-BPT; p < 0.005). There was a survival benefit at one year for those who achieved BPT (28.6% vs 42.0% did not achieve-BPT; p<0.005). Multivariate logistic regression revealed that of the BPT criteria, AMT monitoring and expedited surgery were the only BPT criteria that significantly influenced survival. Conclusion: The introduction of the BPT has not led to a demonstrable improvement in outcomes at organisational level, though other factors may have confounded any benefits. However, patients where BPT criteria are met appear to have improved outcomes

    Investigating Disparities in High School Athletes’ Attitude Toward Concussion and Predictors of Continuing Play

    Objective: Studies related to attitudes of concussion have been growing in athletic populations. While racial and socioeconomic disparities exist in knowledge and awareness of concussion, it remains unclear the effect of disparities on attitudes of concussion and reporting behaviors. The purpose of this study was to examine racial and socioeconomic disparities on attitudes towards concussion and the decision to remain in play with a suspected concussion. Design: This cross-sectional study included 577 athletes between the ages of 13-19 (16.0 ± 1.2) years from 14 high schools. Participants completed a knowledge and attitudes instrument assessing general attitudes of concussion using 7 Likert-scale attitude questions followed by 2 additional questions assessing the decision to continue play while symptomatic. Differences in attitudes of concussion between race and socioeconomic school type were examined using independent t-tests. A multivariable linear regression model was utilized to determine which demographic factors were associated with athletes’ attitude scores. Multivariable logistic regression models were utilized to determine what demographic variables were associated with athletes’ continuation of play in a practice or a game. Results: Differences in attitude scores between race were observed, with black athletes demonstrating lower scores than white athletes (pp=.04) and sex (OR: 0.59, 95% CI [0.36,0.96], p=.03) were, with females less likely to remain in a practice than males. Further, race and socioeconomic school type were not significantly associated with remaining in a game; however, attitude (OR: 0.97, 95% CI [0.95,0.99], p=.01) and sex (OR: 0.56 95% CI [0.35,0.90], p=.02) were, with females less likely to remain in a game than males. Conclusions: Disparities exist between race and socioeconomic school type on attitude of concussion. Black athletes and athletes attending Title I high schools had poorer attitude scores compared to white athletes and athletes attending non-Title I schools. Race was significantly associated with lower concussion attitude scores. The poorer, yet moderate concussion attitude scores suggest concussion education efforts be concentrated towards closing the disparity gap. Further, addressing concussion attitudes would likely also help to shift athletes’ decisions to remain in a practice or game while symptomatic

    The purpose of this research is to know the causes of the student learning disorder hyperactivity disorder, also known as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), to promote integration in the student who suffers, where the main actor is the teacher who through talks or psychological workshops offered by the institution helps instill inclusive education for better academic and social development of the student, as well as provide proper attention to it. Sometimes the teacher finds it very difficult to work with such students, for their discipline deemed inappropriate and that is where the child is excluded, and therefore this is complicated their environment, making it difficult to concentrate in the work entrusted by his tutor and classroom tasks, for which the teacher must use adequate strategies and techniques to attract their attention and have the child interested in the given academic tasks.     La investigación tuvo como objetivo general determinar la influencia del eje cultura organizacional en la lucha contra la corrupción, en la Superintendencia Nacional de Fiscalización Laboral, 2019. La población fue de 197 colaboradores. La muestra es probabilística, y estuvo conformada por 130 colaboradores de la sede administrativa de la entidad. Es una investigación de tipo básica desarrollada en el enfoque metodológico cuantitativo, de método científico no experimental, de nivel descriptiva correlacional causal, que obtuvo un alto grado de confiabilidad y validez de los instrumentos de recopilación de datos, realizados con el soporte estadístico del programa SPSS versión 24 y la opinión o juicio de expertos. Concluye que el valor de significancia asociada a la prueba es de 0.000 inferior al valor de significancia de la prueba, por lo que podemos rechazar la hipótesis nula y aceptamos la Hipótesis alterna. Según prueba hipótesis de regresión logística ordinal, es significativo (x2=110,892; p<0,05), ello significa que el eje cultura organizacional incide en la lucha contra la corrupción

    La gestión directiva y competencias laborales en docentes de las instituciones educativas públicas del nivel Inicial, Carabayllo, Lima, 2021

    La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo general determinar la relación entre la gestión directiva y las competencias laborales en docentes de Instituciones Educativas Iniciales de Carabayllo. Siendo esta investigación de tipo aplicada, con enfoque cuantitativo, de nivel correlacional, asimismo, fue de diseño no experimental transversal y el método empleado fue el hipotético-deductivo. La población estuvo conformada por 480 docentes de nivel inicial de las instituciones educativas del Carabayllo entre las edades de 23 a 45 años. Por su parte la muestra quedó compuesta por 164 docentes cuyas edades fueron entre los 23 a 45 años del nivel inicial de tales instituciones. La técnica aplicada fue la encuesta y el instrumento los cuestionarios de la Escala de Gestión Directiva y Prueba de Competencias Laborales Básicas. Los resultados demostraron una correlación entre la variable Gestión Directiva y la variable Competencias Laborales, cuyo valor equivalente fue de =0.421** de Rho de Spearman con una significancia bilateral de =p> 0,05 y 0.01. Como conclusión se determinó que existe una relación positiva moderada entre las variables Gestión Directiva y Competencias Laborales en docentes de Instituciones Educativas Iniciales de Carabayllo
