Improvement of the IT-PES-PS Section Services Statistics Page
Project Specification:
The IT-PES-PS service managers gather a lot of statistics for the services they run. These statistics are currently displayed by SLS (Service Level Status) or Lemon pages. They also use the Web interface provided with OpenTSDB, a DB optimised for time series. And while these various pages give very useful and technical information, they do not always emphasise the important figures. Having different statistics pages makes it difficult to see the relevant numbers at once. The goal of this project was to build homogeneous dashboards with interactive plots to better reflect the activity and resources of each service, showing relevant figures at first sight in a single website.
Abstract:
There is a need in the IT-PES-PS section to improve the current situation of having to consult the relevant information from several heterogeneous websites by introducing interactive homogeneous dashboards, accessible from a single web application where the information needed can be quickly accessed. The goal of this openlab Summer Student project was to create a website with homogeneous and interactive dashboards. Its architecture had to allow the creation of new dashboards easily
La filosofía como disciplina escolar en Colombia 1946-1994
La investigación describe el proceso de transformación histórica de la filosofía escolar entre 1946 y1994 en Colombia, a partir de la fundación del Instituto de Filosofía de la Universidad Nacional, hasta la Ley General de Educación de 1994. Para lograr ese objetivo el documento contiene tres momentos importantes: 1. Una fundamentación teórica sobre la investigación historiográfica de las disciplinas escolares y la definición de la categoría conceptual: disciplina escolar. 2. Un recorrido historiográfico por los principales actos legislativos referentes a la filosofía escolar en los años 1946-94. 3. Finalmente un recorrido historiográfico de la filosofía en Colombia a través del texto escolar entre 1949 y 1995

El tema de los problemas irresolubles es enfocado particularmente a la luz de la teoría
enseñanza-aprendizaje de las matemáticas. La visión del texto está enfocado en la argumen

tación, el cual propone que los problemas irresolubles generan conocimiento en matemáticas,
cuando son argumentados por los estudiantes desde su irresolubilidad. En esta perspectiva,
buscamos responder a la pregunta ¿Cuáles son los elementos disciplinarios de la matemática
que se construyen, a través del abordaje de problemas irresolubles, con estudiantes de grados
6º a 11º, de la EPE?, esto, en una metodología de recolección de datos, categorías y análisis de
los mismos. La intención del texto es, principalmente, la de servir como introducción al asunto
de los problemas irresolubles con vistas a la investigación en enseñanza de las ciencias. En
futuras investigaciones, es importante ampliar este campo utilizando la matematización y la

En él se ofrece un esquema que puede ser utilizado tanto por alumnos universitarios como por profesionales procedentes de diferentes ciencias sociales y se describen brevemente cada uno de los apartados que lo componen. Temporal activity detection in untrimmed videos with recurrent neural networks
This work proposes a simple pipeline to classify and temporally localize activities in untrimmed videos. Our system uses features from a 3D Convolutional Neural Network (C3D) as input to train a a recurrent neural network (RNN) that learns to classify video clips of 16 frames. After clip prediction, we post-process the output of the RNN to assign a single activity label to each video, and determine the temporal boundaries of the activity within the video. We show how our system can achieve competitive results in both tasks with a simple architecture. We evaluate our method in the ActivityNet Challenge 2016, achieving a 0.5874 mAP and a 0.2237 mAP in the classification and detection tasks, respectively. Grid Global Behavior Prediction
Complexity has always been one of the most important issues in distributed computing. From the first clusters to grid and now cloud computing, dealing correctly and efficiently with system complexity is the key to taking technology a step further. In this sense, global behavior modeling is an innovative methodology aimed at understanding the grid behavior. The main objective of this methodology is to synthesize the grid's vast, heterogeneous nature into a simple but powerful behavior model, represented in the form of a single, abstract entity, with a global state. Global behavior modeling has proved to be very useful in effectively managing grid complexity but, in many cases, deeper knowledge is needed. It generates a descriptive model that could be greatly improved if extended not only to explain behavior, but also to predict it. In this paper we present a prediction methodology whose objective is to define the techniques needed to create global behavior prediction models for grid systems. This global behavior prediction can benefit grid management, specially in areas such as fault tolerance or job scheduling. The paper presents experimental results obtained in real scenarios in order to validate this approach
