Single phase current-source active rectifier for traction: control system design and practical problems

    Get PDF
This research has been motivated by industrial demand for single phase current-source active rectifier dedicated for reconstruction of older types of dc machine locomotives. This paper presents converters control structure design and simulations. The proposed converter control is based on the mathematical model and due to possible interaction with railway signaling and required low switching frequency employs synchronous PWM. The simulation results are verified by experimental tests performed on designed laboratory prototype of power of 7kVA

Selection and allocation of a warehouse linked to reloading terminal and seaport

    Get PDF
Combined transport provides great possibilities for material reloading in terminals or warehouses. However, this cannot be done without a tailored warehouse, geographically suitable for all stakeholders, technically adequate for the handled material, providing the required service while keeping the transport costs at minimum. Allocation design and warehouse erection, connecting the warehouse with the reloading terminal - the seaport, provides an ever-increasing number of options and solutions in the form of integrated freight trains and regular container trains linking seaports with reloading terminals, which significantly saves transport costs and allows for more route and transport type combinations. The paper presents how a suitable warehouse is selected and how its allocation is decided on to cater to transport of the material through the reloading terminal and the seaport. Warehouse allocation was proposed using the Cooper iteration method. The given warehouse location will ensure the optimal cost of shipping and deliveries to individual customers.Web of Science65417316

Účelom tejto práce je podať ucelený prehľad o slovenskej železničnej doprave a v nej poskytovaných službách. Prvá kapitola poskytuje úvod do problematiky spoločného stravovania. Druhá kapitola je zameraná na dopravnú infraštruktúru na Slovensku a postavenie železničnej dopravy v nej. Tretia kapitola je venovaná súčasným európskym trendom v oblasti služieb vyššej kvality v železničnej doprave. Záverečná kapitola obsahuje analýzu služieb niektorých poskytovateľov služieb vyššej kvality pôsobiacich v slovenskej železničnej doprave a tiež podáva porovnanie dvoch najvýznamnejších.Účelem této práce je podat ucelený přehled o české železniční dopravě a v ní poskytovaných službách. Design and Evaluation of a Magnetoelastic Tensile Force Sensor

    No full text
This paper introduces the basic theory behind magnetoelastic sensors which are based on the change of magnetic properties (permeability) due to mechanical stress (Villari effect). A well-known magnetoelastic sensor, the Pressductor, is described. A simulation model of a sensor is created, described, and evaluated by computing the static transfer characteristic of RMS secondary coil voltage change due to tensile stress. A real sensor is then manufactured from a polycrystalline transformer sheet and experimentally tested by using a tensile load created by water weight. The simulation and experiment show similar behavior but are not completely identical which is most likely since some material properties were taken from literature rather than from experimental measurements, like the magnetostriction coefficient and initial magnetic susceptibility
