Solidão inacabada: um estudo sobre o amor e o erotismo em Vergílio Ferreira

Tese de mestrado, Estudos Comparatistas, Universidade de Lisboa, Faculdade de Letras, 2013Partindo do pressuposto vergiliano de que o erotismo moderno assenta no paradoxo de pretender validar um interdito em que já não acredita pelo aliciante de o poder negar, tenta-se compreender neste trabalho de que forma Vergílio Ferreira tentou reconduzir o apelo erótico a uma dimensão estritamente humana. É assim que na sua obra ficcional o erotismo aparece não já sob o signo da profanação, que pressupõe um valor transcendente a profanar, mas sob o signo da violação. Se ele é ainda antes de mais violência, ele é agora resultado do desespero que toma os indivíduos na impossibilidade de acederem a um «tu» cujo «eu» interior se fecha em intangibilidade, dado que um «eu» é a presença de si a si próprio que não extravasa. Porém, no rescaldo dessa violência que remete o arranque do erotismo para uma solidão irremediável descobre Vergílio Ferreira uma possibilidade de afirmar ainda uma comunhão: precisamente a comunhão de solidões que como solidões se reconhecessem para construir uma aliança sobre a terra. O amor seria assim o que no homem remetesse para um limite que negasse a sua solidão e o instalasse em presença do que o saldaria em perfeição. Nesse limite impossível, defende Vergílio Ferreira, está o máximo que o homem deve aspirar para não deixar de ser homem, agora que verdadeiramente o pode ser na sequência da morte de Deus e seus sucedâneos.Abstract Assuming with Vergílio Ferreira that the modern eroticism is based on the paradox of pretending to validate an interdict, which one does not believe anymore, for the pleasure of negating it, in this work we try to understand the way with which Vergílio Ferreira tried to bring the erotic appeal to a strictly human dimension. That’s why in his fictional work eroticism is no longer presented under the sign of profanation, which presupposes a transcending value to be profaned, but under the sign of violation. If the mark of violence is still manifest in this eroticism, it now relegates from the despair that strikes individuals when pursuing in vain the «you» whose internal “I” reveals itself intangible, since the “I” is the singular presence of one to himself. However, in the aftermath of such a violence, Vergílio Ferreira seems to find a way in which a communion can still be asserted: the communion of solitudes that as solitudes recognize themselves so that they can build an alliance over earth. Love would thus be what in man refers to the limit that would overcome his loneliness and settle him in presence of what would redeem him. In this impossible limit, as defends Vergílio Ferreira, is the summit of what man should aspire so that he would always be a man, now that he can finally be truly a man after the death of God and its substitutes

Celastrol: A Spectrum of Treatment Opportunities in Chronic Diseases

Such is the case of the Tripterygium wilfordii (TW), an herb used in Chinese medicine. Clinical trials performed so far using its root extracts have shown impressive therapeutic properties but also revealed substantial gastrointestinal side effects. The most promising bioactive compound obtained from TW is celastrol. During the last decade, an increasing number of studies were published highlighting the medicinal usefulness of celastrol in diverse clinical areas. Here we systematically review the mechanism of action and the therapeutic properties of celastrol in inflammatory diseases, namely, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, inflammatory bowel diseases, osteoarthritis and allergy, as well as in cancer, neurodegenerative disorders and other diseases, such as diabetes, obesity, atherosclerosis, and hearing loss. A presença da religião na televisão pública portuguesa (RTP1)

As questões sociais representam um tema sensível de discussão e a religião é uma delas. Existem diversas religiões representadas em Portugal e a sua necessidade de reconhecimento e representação é importante e está reconhecida nas obrigações de serviço público imputadas à RTP. A televisão, sendo meio de propagação de informação e meio de comunicação social, deve transparecer imparcialidade e diversidade de temas tratados, dando espaço para que as questões sociais sejam representadas. O objetivo deste estudo passa por verificar a presença religiosa na RTP1, bem como a análise da sua diversidade. As metodologias utilizadas foram a análise de grelha durante um período de seis meses do ano de 2021, de Maio a Outubro, com o apoio dos relatórios públicos relativos à programação e contrastando com a programação da RTP2.Social questions portray a sensitive theme of discussion and religion is one of them. There are multiple religions represented in Portugal and their necessity of acknowledgment and representation is important and it’s beholden on the public service obligations imputed to RTP. Television, as mean of spreading information and mean of social communication, should impart impartiality and diversity of covered topics, giving space to social questions to be represented. The purpose of this study is to verify the religious presence in RTP1, as well as the analysis of its diversity. The methodologies used were the grid analysis during a period of six months of 2021, from May to October, with the support of public reports regarding schedule and contrasting with RTP2 schedules

Optimal design of thin-walled laminated beams with geometrically nonlinear behaviour

Com o apoio RAADRI.The purpose of this paper is to present a finite element model for optimal design of composite laminated thin-walled beam structures, with geometrically nonlinear behaviour, including post-critical behaviour and accounting warping deformation. A general continuum formulation is presented for the structural nonlinear analysis, based on the virtual work principle, and using the Updated Lagrangean procedure to describe the deformation of the structure. In order of defining the post-critical behaviour, a generalized displacement control method has been implemented. The thin-walled beam cross-section is considered as made from an assembly of flat layered laminated composite panels. The cross-section bending-torsion properties are integrals based on the cross-section geometry, on the warping function and on the individual stiffness of the laminates that constitute the cross-section. In order to determine its bending-torsion properties, the cross-section geometry is discretized by quadratic isoparametric finite elements. Along its axial direction, the beam is modelled throughout two-node Hermitean finite elements with seven degrees-of-freedom a node. Design sensitivities are imbedded into the finite element modelling and assembled in order to perform the design sensitivity analysis of various structural performance measures by using the adjoint method. As design variables one considers laminate thickness, lamina orientations and the global cross-section geometry. This geometry is defined by the position of master nodes related to the cross-section finite element mesh. Design optimization is performed throughout nonlinear programming techniques

Projeto de instalação de uma cunicultura

Este trabalho de projeto, foi realizado com o intuito de melhorar o nosso conhecimento da cunicultura em Portugal e avaliar as potencialidades de implementação de uma empresa. Para o efeito, foi efectuada uma revisão bibliográfica, a observação “in situ” de algumas explorações cunícolas, a elaboração da respetiva análise SWOT e um projecto de instalação de uma cunicultura e respectivo estudo económico. Tenta caracterizar o coelho, procurando dar uma perspetiva da produção cunícola, particularmente a nível nacional, na medida em que se abordam os padrões de produção, comercialização e consumo desta espécie. São caraterizadas diversas entidades que intervêm no sector, desde as instalações e equipamentos, aos modos de produção é feita uma abordagem à gestão técnico-económica das cuniculturas. Em cunicultura há vários aspetos a ter em conta para que haja um máximo rendimento, como a temperatura, ventilação, conforto, evitando assim o stress, a que esta espécie é muito suscetível, e o controlo de patologias, que podem dizimar uma exploração por completo. Para se iniciar a atividade há uma série de “regras” a que o futuro cunicultor tem que obedecer e vários apoios à instalação por parte do Ministério da Agricultura, como o apoio aos jovens agricultores, inserido no PDR 2020. Finalmente, do estudo económico efetuado, concluiu-se o seguinte: É um investimento inicial avultado e por isso, é necessário recorrer a um fundo de investimento para poder começar a atividade. Com uma boa gestão e um bom funcionamento da empresa, é possível afirmar que tem boas condições para gerar lucro e criar postos de trabalho, sendo possível amortizar o investimento e garantir assim o seu funcionamento.Abstract : This work was caried out with the purpose of improve the Portuguese knowledge on rabbit farming, and evaluate the creation of a potential company. It was made for this purpose, a bibliographic research, observation in situ of some rabbit farms, the development of its SWOT analysis, and a project to install a rabbit farm and its economic study. Attempts to characterizes the rabbit, seeking it production perspective, particularly at the national level, as far as it takes the species productions, marketing and consumption as standards. Several entities envolved in the sector are characterized, from installation and equipment, passing throught production ways, this work approaches the rabbit economic – thecnical management. At rabbit farming there are several things that should be consider in order to get maximum performance, such as temperature, ventilation or confort, avoinding the stress as this species is higly susceptible, and to patology control, that can decimate na entire explotation. To start the activity, there are lot of rules that the future rabbit farmers have to obey, but also several supports on the part of Agriculture Ministry, such as support of young farmers, integrated at PDR 20-20. Finally, from economical study, it was concluded that: it´s a high first investment whitch requires an investiment fund to an initial start. With both good management and company´s work, it is possible to affirm that it has great conditions to generate profit and create workstation, beeing posible write the investment off and making assure of it effective functioning

A obra para canto e guitarra de Fernando Lopes-Graça

Mestrado em MúsicaEste trabalho pretende dar a conhecer o repertório para canto e guitarra de Fernando Lopes-Graça, fazendo uma análise com vista à sua interpretação, e enquadrando-o no conjunto da obra do compositor e em particular no contexto da sua produção com guitarra. A estrutura do texto apresenta-se em duas partes. A primeira parte apresenta o compositor inserido no movimento modernista e estuda a relação deste com a guitarra e com o meio guitarrístico português, dando também uma panorâmica de toda a sua obra com guitarra. Na segunda parte, para além de ser feita uma contextualização de cada uma das obras em estudo no conjunto da produção do compositor, são analisadas todas as obras, no sentido de permitir uma interpretação mais fundamentada musicalmente, contribuindo assim para a excelência da performance e para o mais fácil acesso a este reportório, por parte de futuros intérpretes. Conhecer melhor estas obras e contribuir para um conhecimento mais profundo do compositor partindo delas, e ainda, possibilitar uma interpretação historicamente informada, são os objectivos mais relevantes deste trabalho. ABSTRACT: This dissertation is a study on the repertoire for voice and guitar of Fernando Lopes-Graça, having the aim of creating an historically informed interpretation. The text is structured in two parts. The first part is about the composer and consists in two chapters. The first one aims to give a perspective of his work as a composer from the point of view of aesthetics, accessing the relevance of Portuguese modernist movement and neorealism on its musical conception. In the second chapter, we try to understand the rapport between Lopes-Graça and the guitar, surveying the recent history of this instrument in Portugal, and Graça’s fruitful relation with Piñeiro Nagy, enhancing the relevance of the binomial composer/performer in musical creation. In this chapter, his full work for guitar, including those with voice, will be dealt with. In the second part, we analyse each one of the works for voice and guitar from the interpreter’s point of view, in order to contribute to an easier access to this repertoire, both for performers and scholars

Resistance of potato genotypes to Meloidogyne javanica

A resistência de 48 genótipos de batata brasileiros e europeus à infecção por Meloidogyne javanica foi avaliada em campo naturalmente infestado, em época seca e chuvosa, no Distrito Federal. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições e parcelas com dez plantas. Na época seca (maio a setembro), os níveis de infecção em tubérculos comerciais foram de, no máximo, 9,7%, com as temperaturas do solo variando de 13,5 ºC a 27,7 ºC. Na época chuvosa (novembro a março), os níveis de infecção por M. javanica variaram de 31,0% a 93,5% em tubérculos de batata em solo com temperaturas mais elevadas, de 27,0 ºC a 33,0 ºC. 'Achat', com maior grau de resistência a M. javanica entre os 48 genótipos de batata avaliados, apresentou porcentagem de infecção de tubérculos comerciais de 1% na época seca e de, no máximo, 31% na época chuvosa.The resistance of 48 Brazilian and European potato genotypes to infection by Meloidogyne javanica was evaluated in a naturally infested field, in the dry and rainy seasons in the Federal District, Brazil. The experimental design was the complete randomized block with four replicates and plots with ten plants. In the dry season (May to September), the infection levels on the marketable tubers reached up to 9.7%, with the soil temperatures ranging from 13.5ºC to 27.7ºC. The levels of infection varied from 31.0% to 93.5% in the rainy season (November to March), under higher soil temperatures ranging from 27.0ºC to 33.0ºC. 'Achat' behaved as the most resistant to M. javanica among the 48 potato genotypes, and presented percentages of infection on the marketable tubers of 1% in the dry season and 31.0% in the rainy season

Relações entre dificuldades de processamento emocional, regulação emocional, necessidades psicológicas, sintomatologia e bem-estar/distresse

Tese de mestrado, Psicologia (Secção de Psicologia Clínica e da Saúde, Núcleo de Psicoterapia Cognitiva-Comportamental e Integrativa), Universidade de Lisboa, Faculdade de Psicologia, 2016À luz do Modelo de Complementaridade Paradigmática, as necessidades psicológicas são reguladas pelo sistema emocional, influenciando os processos de perceção, memória e cognição nos contextos intrapsíquico e interpessoal. Neste pressuposto, este estudo explora relações entre dois construtos relativos ao funcionamento emocional – dificuldades de regulação e processamento emocional -, a regulação das necessidades e consequentes implicações no bem-estar, distress e sintomatologia. Importa ao estudo contribuir para a compreensão das relações entre as variáveis e ainda informar implicações para a conceptualização e práticas psicoterapêuticas. Para tal, foram recolhidas duas amostras: (1) clínica – em departamentos de saúde mental; (2) não clínica - online. Desta forma, aborda-se o contraste entre as duas realidades. Os resultados apoiam o pressuposto do impacto do funcionamento emocional na regulação das necessidades e destes no bem-estar e distress psicológicos e a sintomatologia. No que respeita os impactos diferenciais ao nível das amostras, os resultado apontam para a regulação emocional como fator diferenciador das mesmas e a capacidade explicativa das dimensões emocionais e as necessidades psicológicas, em interação, da sintomatologia.In the light of the Complementarity Paradigmatic Model, psychological needs are regulated by the emotional system, influencing the perception processes, memory and cognition in intrapsychic and interpersonal contexts. With this assumption, this study explores relationships between two constructs related to emotional functioning - difficulties in regulation and emotional processing - the regulation of needs and consequent implications for well-being, distress and symptomatology. The study is concerned in contributing to the understanding of the relationships between variables and to inform implications for conceptualization and psychotherapy practices. To this end, two samples were taken: (1) clinical - in mental health departments; (2) non-clinical - online. Thus, it discusses the contrast between the two realities. The results support the assumption of the impact of emotional functioning in the regulation of these needs and the well-being, as well as psychological distress and symptomatology. In what regards the differential impacts on the samples, the results point to the emotional regulation as a differentiating factor of the same and the explanatory power of the emotional dimensions as well as the psychological needs, in interaction, of symptomatology
