Construction of hybrid intelligent system of express-diagnostics of information security attackers based on the synergy of several sciences and scientific directions

    No full text
This paper is devoted to construction of a hybrid intelligent system of express-diagnostics of possible information security attackers (HIS DIVNAR) based on a synergy of several sciences and scientific directions: test pattern recognition; discrete mathematics; threshold and fuzzy logic; artificial intelligence; finite state machines (FSM) theory; reliability; theory of separating systems; theory of probability and mathematical statistics; and cognitive means. The proposed approach and basis of the mathematical apparatus are fragmentarily given for constructing HIS DIVNAR; that consists of four components: the first component, called IS DIOS, is designed for the express-diagnostics of organizational stress of the subject; the second (IS DIAPROD) is for the express-diagnostics and prevention of depression; the third (DIDEV) is for the expressdiagnostics and prevention of deviant behavior; and the fourth, intelligent system of express-diagnostics of information security attackers (IS DINARLOG2) is for making and justification of decisions with the use of cognitive means based on earlier revealed different regularities, including fault-tolerant irredundant unconditional diagnostic tests, fault-tolerant mixed diagnostic tests, regularities, and decision rules, which are built by using the applied IS DINARLOG1 constructed on the basis of intelligent instrumental software IMSLOG. Further development of this approach is proposed

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is one of the most serious and widespread neurodegenerative disorders. Genetic susceptibility plays a significant role in the development of PD.The aim of our study was to investigate associations between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of the COMT gene coding dopamine catabolism enzyme and Parkinson’s disease.Materials and methods. In this study seven SNPs (rs4680, rs6269, rs4633, rs4818, rs769224, rs165774, rs174696) of COMT were genotyped. 232 patients with PD and 127 healthy individuals in the Siberian region of Russia were examined. Venous blood samples were drawn as a marker of PD. Statistical differences in the prevalence of alleles and genotypes between groups of patients were assessed using IBM SPSS Statistics 23.1 software.Results. A significant association between the rs165774 polymorphism and PD was observed. Our study demonstrates that polymorphisms in the COMT gene may play an important role in the pathophysiology of Parkinson’s disease

PURPOSE: Parkinson's disease (PD), a common neurodegenerative disorder, is usually treated with Levodopa (L-DOPA). The use of this drug, however, is severely limited by the development of side effects of the motor system: Levodopa-induced dyskinesia (LID). The aim of this study is to investigate the association between seven COMT gene single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and the development of LID in patients with PD. METHODS: 232 Caucasian patients with PD were investigated. 212 patients with PD received Levodopa therapy. Dyskinesia was assessed with the use of the Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale (AIMS). Genotyping was carried out on seven SNPs of the COMT gene (rs4680, rs6269, rs4633, rs4818, rs769224, rs165774, rs174696) using a real-time PCR method, and blind to the clinical status of the subjects. RESULTS: We found association between four SNPs, rs165774, rs4818, rs4633, rs4680, and LID. When the duration of disease was added as a covariate in regression analysis, however, the results did not reach statistical significance. Only the additive model for rs165774 was found to be close to be statistical significance (OR = 1.627 [0.976-2.741], permutation p = 0.057). CONCLUSIONS: The results failed to clearly support a contribution of the studied polymorphisms; this may be related to a dominant relationship with the disease duration confounding the effect on the prevalence of LID

Editorial. A supplement of Scires-it on the COCONET european project

The Supplement to vol. 6, 2016 of SCIRES-IT contains the result of CoCoNet (Towards COast to COast NETworks of marine protected areas, coupled with sea-based wind energy potential), a project of the EU Oceans of Tomorrow programme (http://www.coconet-fp7.eu). The European Union requires Open Access to the results of the projects resulting from its support to scientific advancement. This is in full accordance with the policy of SCIRES-IT, an eco-sustainable open–access journal, which joins the main principles of the Berlin Declaration on Open Access with the aims of the International Convention on Biological Diversity. CoCoNet tackled two problems that are closely linked with each other: the protection of the marine environment and clean energy production. Hence, the Supplement is divided into two parts that, together, form a unicum
