    本稿は、QUIK(self completed questionnaire for QOL)及び改訂版QUIK-R(self completed questionnaire for QOL revised)の文献的展望である。本論文は、QOLの概念、QOLの測定、QOLと気分障害との関連、さまざまな障害を有する患者のQOL、健常者のQOLと介護者のQOLの検討した内容を含んでいる。われわれが、ここで強調したいことは、QOL-Oriented-Medicineは、身体的-心理的-社会的-実存的な存在である個人のオートノミーと幸福を反映させることのできる医療(Medical Service)なのである。The article is a review of the literature on a self completed questionnaire for QOL (QUIK) and its revised version (QUIK-R) assessing QOL. It includes the contents of evaluating the concept of QOL, the measurement of QOL, correlation between QOL and mood disorders, QOL in patients with various disorders, QOL in healthy subjects and QOL of caregivers.     Transverse energy production and charged-particle multiplicity at midrapidity in various systems from sNN=7.7\sqrt{s_{NN}}=7.7 to 200 GeV

    Measurements of midrapidity charged particle multiplicity distributions, dNch/dηdN_{\rm ch}/d\eta, and midrapidity transverse-energy distributions, dET/dηdE_T/d\eta, are presented for a variety of collision systems and energies. Included are distributions for Au++Au collisions at sNN=200\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=200, 130, 62.4, 39, 27, 19.6, 14.5, and 7.7 GeV, Cu++Cu collisions at sNN=200\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=200 and 62.4 GeV, Cu++Au collisions at sNN=200\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=200 GeV, U++U collisions at sNN=193\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=193 GeV, dd++Au collisions at sNN=200\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=200 GeV, 3^{3}He++Au collisions at sNN=200\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=200 GeV, and pp++pp collisions at sNN=200\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=200 GeV. Centrality-dependent distributions at midrapidity are presented in terms of the number of nucleon participants, NpartN_{\rm part}, and the number of constituent quark participants, NqpN_{q{\rm p}}. For all AA++AA collisions down to sNN=7.7\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=7.7 GeV, it is observed that the midrapidity data are better described by scaling with NqpN_{q{\rm p}} than scaling with NpartN_{\rm part}. Also presented are estimates of the Bjorken energy density, εBJ\varepsilon_{\rm BJ}, and the ratio of dET/dηdE_T/d\eta to dNch/dηdN_{\rm ch}/d\eta, the latter of which is seen to be constant as a function of centrality for all systems.Comment: 706 authors, 32 pages, 20 figures, 34 tables, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2012 data. v2 is version accepted for publication in Phys.     DOCK2 is involved in the host genetics and biology of severe COVID-19

    「コロナ制圧タスクフォース」COVID-19疾患感受性遺伝子DOCK2の重症化機序を解明 --アジア最大のバイオレポジトリーでCOVID-19の治療標的を発見--. 京都大学プレスリリース. 2022-08-10.Identifying the host genetic factors underlying severe COVID-19 is an emerging challenge. Here we conducted a genome-wide association study (GWAS) involving 2, 393 cases of COVID-19 in a cohort of Japanese individuals collected during the initial waves of the pandemic, with 3, 289 unaffected controls. We identified a variant on chromosome 5 at 5q35 (rs60200309-A), close to the dedicator of cytokinesis 2 gene (DOCK2), which was associated with severe COVID-19 in patients less than 65 years of age. This risk allele was prevalent in East Asian individuals but rare in Europeans, highlighting the value of genome-wide association studies in non-European populations. RNA-sequencing analysis of 473 bulk peripheral blood samples identified decreased expression of DOCK2 associated with the risk allele in these younger patients. DOCK2 expression was suppressed in patients with severe cases of COVID-19. Single-cell RNA-sequencing analysis (n = 61 individuals) identified cell-type-specific downregulation of DOCK2 and a COVID-19-specific decreasing effect of the risk allele on DOCK2 expression in non-classical monocytes. Immunohistochemistry of lung specimens from patients with severe COVID-19 pneumonia showed suppressed DOCK2 expression. Moreover, inhibition of DOCK2 function with CPYPP increased the severity of pneumonia in a Syrian hamster model of SARS-CoV-2 infection, characterized by weight loss, lung oedema, enhanced viral loads, impaired macrophage recruitment and dysregulated type I interferon responses. We conclude that DOCK2 has an important role in the host immune response to SARS-CoV-2 infection and the development of severe COVID-19, and could be further explored as a potential biomarker and/or therapeutic target

    Mark TwainのThe Tragedy of Pudd’nhead VVilSonにおける登場人物の一人であるDavid Wilsonは,一見,重要な役割を演じているように見えるが,作品における彼の文学的意味は非常に見極め難く,彼に対する批評家達の意見も実に様々である。 作品の中で,Wilsonは実に曖昧に描かれている。作品の前半3分の2の部分では,Pudd’nheadというあだ名の下に,その存在を誇示するようには描かれていない。一方,後半の3分の1の部分では,Pudd’nheadという仮面を外し,急速な出世劇を展開し,最終的には英雄になっている。このように,作中における彼の描き方の変化が,Wilsonの存在の曖昧さにつながっているのである。 特に,後半部のWilsonに注目すると,その様子がTwainの作品の中でも最も有名なTom Sawyerに似ていることが分かる。そこで, Pudd’nhead VVilSonの執筆過程を見てみると,Twainは,ほぼ同時期にTom Sawyer/Abroadの執筆にも取り掛かっており,その影響が,Wilsonに及んだと考えられる。 WilsonとTomの関係はこれだけではない。Pudd’nhead Wilsonは完成までに何度か修正が加えられている。丁度その修正の直中,TwainはTom達の新しい作品を考えていた。そして生まれた作品がTom Sawyer, Detectiveである。この作品は様々な点で Pudd’nhead ve,lilSonと共通点を持っており,明らかにPzadd’nhead WilSonの影響  を受けていることが分かる。’ 以上のことから,この三つの作品の関係の深さが理解できる。また,Twainは,妻に宛てた手紙の中で,公にはWilsonの重要性を否定しているのであるが, Tom  に対するTwainの思い入れを考えると, WilsonもTwainのheroの一人と考えられるのである。David Wilson is one of the characters of Mark Twain’s The Tragedyげ Pudd’nhead Wilson. Seemingly he plays an important role, however, strangely it is difficult for us to find out his meaning as a literary character. Therefore opinions are divlded among critics on this subject.In this narrative, Wilson is described very obscurely. In spite of being intelligent, he is nicknamed“Pudd’nhead”and described as a person who is not worth bothering about in the first two-thirds of this narrative. His real talent is hidden under the mask of“Pudd’nhead”. In the Iast one-third, on the contrary, he takes off his mask of“Pudd’nhead”suddenly and he rises to be a hero rapidly. This sudden change in his role Ieads to Wilson’s obscurity in this narrative.   When we focus on the description of Wilson in the last part, we find that he looks like Tom Sawyer, Twain’s most famous character. Pudd’nhead Wilson was written in the almost same time as Tom Sawyer、4broad was written. Thus we see Wilson is greatly influenced by Tom:We can find another connection between Tom and Wilson. After finishing Pudd’nhead Wilson, Twain needed to make some revisions in the manuscript. While he did it, he began to plan a new story for Tom, Tom Sawyer. Detective. As we can surmise from this title, Tom inquires and reveals the real fact of the case of murder as a detective like Wilson. It is clear that Tom is greatly influenced by Wilson.   We may, therefore, reasonably say that」Pudd’nhead WilSon, Tom Sawyer Abroad and Tom Sawyer, Detective are closely connected and influenced one another. Twain states in his letter to his wife,01ivia, that David Wilson is not an important character for him. However, a close look at Wilson’s connection with Twain’s dearest Tom Sawyer will reveal that he is one of the heroes for Twain
