Toward a distributed storage system leveraging the DSL infrastructure of an ISP

International audienceInternet Service Providers~(ISP) furnishing cloud storage services usually rely on big data centers. These centralized architectures induce many drawbacks in terms of scalability, reliability, and high access latency as data centers are single points of failure and are not necessarily located close to the users. This paper introduces Mistore, a distributed storage system aiming at guaranteeing data availability, durability, low access latency by leveraging the Digital Subscriber Line~(DSL) infrastructure of an ISP. Mistore uses the available storage resources of a large number of home gateways and points of presence respectively for content storage and caching facilities reducing the role of the data center to a load balancer. Mistore also targets data consistency by providing multiple types of consistency criteria on content and a versioning system allowing users to get access to any prior versions of their contents

Ecoulement mamelonnaire sanglant unilateral et cancer du sein a Libreville, Gabon: Analyse rétrospective sur 10 ans.

Il s’agit d’une étude rétrospective menée dans deux centres hospitaliers de Libreville sur une période de dix ans, du 1er janvier 1998 au 31 décembre 2007. Les objectifs étaient de déterminer la proportion des étiologies malignes à l’origine de l’écoulement mamelonnaire sanglant unilatéral à Libreville et d’analyser le pronostic de ces patientes. A partir des dossiers médicaux, nous avons étudié les caractéristiques épidémiologiques, les résultats histologiques et le pronostic. 78 cas d’écoulement mamelonnaire ont été diagnostiqués durant cette période, soit un taux d’incidence de 0,7% de l’ensemble de la pathologie mammaire opérée durant cette période. L’âge moyen des patientes était de 44±3,7 ans. La pyramidectomie centrée sur le galactophore a été la chirurgie diagnostique la plus fréquente (73%). Il y a eu 11 cas de cancer (14,1%). Le carcinome canalaire invasif (45,45%) était la forme histologique la plus fréquente. En seconde intention, la mastectomie radicale associée au curage ganglionnaire axillaire a été le traitement majeur des cas de malignité. La survie était de 62,5% à cinq ans et de 54,5% à dix ans. A Libreville, l’écoulement mamelonnaire sanglant apparait chez des femmes d’âge moyen de 44±3,7 ans et son étiologie est généralement bénigne. Cependant des formes malignes peuvent être individualisées et leur pronostic à court terme est très réservé.MOTS CLES: Ecoulements mamelonnaires sanglants - Cancer du sein - Pronostic - Afrique

Grossesse apres myomectomie a Libreville, Gabon

Cette étude avait pour but de déterminer la proportion des femmes ayant eu une grossesse menée à terme après myomectomie dans notre service. C’était une étude rétrospective et descriptive portant sur tous les cas de grossesse menée à terme chez des patientes ayant eu une myomectomie à la maternité Joséphine Bongo (MJB) de Libreville entre le 1er janvier 2004 et le 31 décembre 2008. A partir des observations médicales, des registres d’accouchement et des comptes rendus opératoires, les paramètres principaux suivants ont été analysés: l’âge, les  caractéristiques des myomes et le délai de survenue de la grossesseaprès myomectomie. The activity of cashew nut shell liquid as one of the anticancer agent, especially at myeloma cell has been carried out. The main purpose of this research is to determine the cytotoxicity of cashew nut shell ethanol extract to myeloma cell. Myeloma cells were divided into treatment groups, control cell group, positive controlgroup, medium control group and cosolven control, each of 3 repeats. The concentration of cashew nut shell ethanol extract which is used 12.5, 25, 50, 100, 200, 400 μg/mL and doxorubicin 3.125, 6. 25, 12.5, 25, 50, 100 μg/mL. Cytotoxicity test use direct counting method. The result of this research showed that LC50 = 40.514 μg/mL at cytotokxicity test with direct counting method. The result of this research could be concluded that cashew nut shell (Anacardium occidentale L.) ethanol extract has toxic activity to myeloma cells
