Intellectual evolution of strategic management and its relationship with ethics and social responsibility

The main purpose here is to present an overview of the historical development of strategic management, through a critical review of the most relevant theoretical proposals, and to consider its links to ethics and corporate social responsibilities. From the very beginning of strategic management thought attempts have been made to fuse ethical aspects such as values of senior management or social values or social expectations to strategic management. More recently the stakeholder view of the firm has permitted the introduction of ethical theories into strategic management, and the resources-based view of the firm has lead to the consideration of competences, including moral virtues. Here it is argued that in spite of some advances, the integration of ethics into strategic management is not yet entirely satisfactory. Analyse des conflits et recherches françaises : le moment agonistique ?

En France, les situations qualifiées dans cet ouvrage de conflits de proximité sont aujourd'hui sous le regard des chercheurs dans le cadre de projets scientifiques divers. Différentes disciplines (économie, géographie, sciences politiques, sociologie, sciences de gestion et de l'aménagement) ont à partir de leurs propres traditions développées des travaux traitant directement ou indirectement de ces situations. De plus, la question du conflit est appréhendée depuis des champs de recherche pluridisciplinaires traitant des dynamiques sociales, de l'environnement, du patrimoine, des risques ou des sciences et des techniques. L'objectif de ce chapitre n'est pas tant de réaliser un état des lieux des productions scientifiques que de tenter de présenter les principaux enjeux des débats qui au sein des sciences sociales françaises relient les conflits de proximité à des problématiques plus larges

Les mutations du rapport des sociétés à l'espace introduites par la généralisation du patrimoine et l'environnement comme valeurs et cadre d'action, et, les effets de la multiplication de situations de conflits localisés dans lesquelles les actions des pouvoirs publics sont en débat, semblent produire de « nouvelles » modalités de territorialisation. International audienceA geography of law in context While legal geography is becoming a recognized branch of geography in the English-speaking world, neither the issue of the spatial and territorial dimensions of law, nor that of the role of law in people's relationships with space, are raised in French geography. The first part of this article examines the relationship between geography and law, followed by two parts based on the conclusions of an analysis of areas of conflict, which highlight the importance of the cognitive dimension and of the local processes for updating the law. Technology, governance, and a sustainability model for small and medium-sized towns in Europe

New and cutting-edge technologies causing deep changes in societies, playing the role of game modifiers, and having a significant impact on global markets in small and medium-sized towns in Europe (SMSTEs) are the focus of this research. In this context, an analysis was carried out to identify the main dimensions of a model for promoting innovation in SMSTEs. The literature review on the main dimensions boosting the innovation in SMSTEs and the methodological approach was the application of a survey directed to experts on this issue. The findings from the literature review reflect that technologies, governance, and sustainability dimensions are enablers of SMSTEs’ innovation, and based on the results of the survey, a model was implemented to boost innovation, being this the major add-on of this research.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Evidence for a Warm Last Glacial Maximum in the Nordic Seas or an example of shortcomings in UK37' and UK37 to estimate low sea surface temperature?

The occurrence of ice-free conditions in the Nordic seas during the Last Glacial Maximum has been demonstrated using microfossil and biomarker approaches. An accurate picture of the prevailing oceanographic conditions may be more difficult to ascertain. Thus, uncertainties for most proxies increase at the cold extreme of temperature calibrations and glacial sediments contain small amounts of microfossils and biomarkers. Here we discuss sea surface temperature estimates derived from alkenone indices for the Last Glacial Maximum in the Nordic seas that provide a surprising scenario, where surface temperatures were warmer than at present. We conclude that the UK37' and UK37 estimates may not be interpreted in terms of sea surface temperature as several factors may have conspired to bias the molecular signal. However, using an alternative index based on the abundance of the C37∶4 alkenone, we estimate a maximum temperature of 6°C
