Globalization and international standard universities trend drive the higher education system to become more dynamic and innovative. The lecturer is a profession that drives and encourages university competitiveness. Therefore, better career advancement and development are vital in encouraging higher education competitiveness. The United States of America (USA) is currently a world-class university orientation, followed by Australia. Hence, other countries, especially developing countries, should know the USA and Australia higher education system, especially in the lecturers’ career advancement and development. This study is necessary to answer research questions about comparing academic career advancement systems in the USA and Australia. This study will give other countries new insight into academic career advancement. The researchers apply the findings from a systematic review. This study focuses on six aspects discussed: regulations, educational qualifications, lecturer obligation status in the higher education, career ladder, career advancement stages, and the lecturers' duties also responsibilities in lecturer career advancement in the USA and Australia. This study examines the gap between lecturers' career advancement systems in the USA and Australia comprehensively. The researchers observe by analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of the lecturer career advancement system in the USA and Australia. Also, the researchers compare the results using comparative public administration theory

Central Veterinary Laboratory of Algete (LCV) has been appointed as a referral center for the analysis of genetic markers and certification of techniques for the identification and genealogical control in horses, in order to guarantee the genealogies of the animals entered in studbooks (Royal Decree 662/2007). Since then, it has developed a working protocol covering all the steps to follow from the collection of samples in the field until receipt of the final results by the breeders’ association. The methodology uses the most advanced and has established a series of checkpoints in order to detect any errors that may occur in both the sample collection and transmission of information that must accompany them for later analysis. The optimization methodology enables to process a large number of samples in a short time with great reliability in the results. The analysis that the samples are submitted includes 18 microsatellite DNA markers, amplified in a single PCR reaction, chosen from the list proposed by the ISAG (International Society for Animal Genetics). It also provides two additional panels composed of 8 and 22 new markers, respectively, which are used in cases where there is a need for increased capacity of exclusion or to conduct studies pedigrees with data from parents from other laboratories where use these markers, which is quite common in horse races where there is great movement of animals between countries

Investigations of the Mars Upper Atmosphere with ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter

The Martian mesosphere and thermosphere, the region above about 60 km, is not the primary target of the ExoMars 2016 mission but its Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) can explore it and address many interesting issues, either in-situ during the aerobraking period or remotely during the regular mission. In the aerobraking phase TGO peeks into thermospheric densities and temperatures, in a broad range of latitudes and during a long continuous period. TGO carries two instruments designed for the detection of trace species, NOMAD and ACS, which will use the solar occultation technique. Their regular sounding at the terminator up to very high altitudes in many different molecular bands will represent the first time that an extensive and precise dataset of densities and hopefully temperatures are obtained at those altitudes and local times on Mars. But there are additional capabilities in TGO for studying the upper atmosphere of Mars, and we review them briefly. Our simulations suggest that airglow emissions from the UV to the IR might be observed outside the terminator. If eventually confirmed from orbit, they would supply new information about atmospheric dynamics and variability. However, their optimal exploitation requires a special spacecraft pointing, currently not considered in the regular operations but feasible in our opinion. We discuss the synergy between the TGO instruments, specially the wide spectral range achieved by combining them. We also encourage coordinated operations with other Mars-observing missions capable of supplying simultaneous measurements of its upper atmosphere

[[abstract]]The phytochemicals, antioxidants, antiinflammatory and the anti-hyperglycemic properties of Wattakaka volubilis Linn. F were determined. The Hot Water Extract (HWE) and Acetone Extracts (AE) of W. volubilis leaves were tested for a variety of phytochemicals. The preliminary analysis revealed the presence of a large number of phytochemicals. The DPPH assay was used to measure the free radical scavenging activity of both HWE and AE. The HWE had the highest DPPH scavenging rate (87.72 %t), followed by the AE (33.33 %). At 500?g/mL concentration, the anti-inflammatory activity of HWE, AE, and Diclofenac (standard drug) was 54.27 %, 49.88 %, and 83.33 %, respectively. Orally administered alloxan (75?mg/kg body weight) resulted in a significant (p 0.05) decrease in blood glucose levels in diabetic mice with HWE and AE at 200?mg/kg b.wt for 4 weeks. Aside from all hypoglycemic parameters, the histopathology of the pancreas was also controlled, indicating that HWE exerted greater anti-diabetic activity than AE. Furthermore, HWE supported a significant inhibition of -amylase enzyme activity, with the highest action of 99.23 % reticence at 1000?g/mL. The findings indicate that HWE has a potential antidiabetic effect; thus, HWE may be a non-hazardous traditional and complementary medicine in treating hyperglycemia and related problems, substantiating as an anti-hyperglycemic agent

The ranked set sampling (RSS) is a new sampling method alternative tothe simple random sampling (SRS). In this work, we develop the theory ofconcomitant of order statistics (COS) ascending from the extended Farlie-Gumbel-Morgenstern bivariate Lindley distribution (EFGMBLD). Also, wehave discussed the problem of estimating the parameters related with thedistribution of the variable interest, Y , based on the RSS dened by orderingthe marginal observations on an auxiliary variable X, provided that (X; Y )follows an EFGMBLD. When the association parameters corresponding to Yare known, we have derived two estimators, viz., an unbiased estimator basedon Stoke's RSS and the best linear unbiased estimator (BLUE) based on theStoke's RSS. The BLUE and the unbiased estimators are also compared basedon simulation study
