Multi-light photogrammetric survey applied to the complex documentation of engravings in Palaeolithic rock art: the Cova de les Meravelles (Gandia, Valencia, Spain)
[EN] The new phase of study and revision of the Palaeolithic art of the Cova de les Meravelles, as well as the advances made in the field of 3D documentation in recent years, have motivated a new documentation campaign on the main panel full of tiny engraved motifs. The difficulties involved in acquiring and processing data executed using fine and thin engraving techniques indoors, have been solved through a multi-light photogrammetric survey, photographing the main panel surface with five lighting directions, and applying principal component analysis (PCA). This procedure has allowed us to obtain a large corpus of two and three-dimensional data and to improve the documentation base produced 17 years ago after its discovery. In this paper, we present the procedure followed, the enhanced engraving results in the new documentation campaign, its most significant contributions to the complex archaeological survey, and the limits we have found along the procedure. This work has been part of the project HAR2017-85153-P ("Sintesis del Paleolitico medio y superior en Valencia y Murcia: aspectos cronologicos, paleoambientales, economicos y culturales") and the programme PRE2018085961, financed by Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovacion, FEDER y FSE, as well as the project PROMETEO/2017/060 ("El pasado lejano: aproximacion a la conducta y la ocupacion del territorio en el paleolitico valenciano") financed by Generalitat Valenciana.

This is a prospective and comparative work between arterial pressure obtained through manual
measurement with aneroid sphygmomanometer and the arterial pressure obtained through automatic
monitor.
The practice was carried out in a group of 100 inpatients in the Neurosurgery and Otolaryngology
Service in the Consortium of the General Hospital of Valencia during the first term of 2007.
The development of this hospital training was made on each individual through sequential
measurements and executed by the same observer with both well-calibrated machines. It was observed that through the method of Pearson's bivaried correlation there are not statistically
significant differences between the pressures taken by both machines. As regards this fact, both
automatic machines of arterial pressure register are [email protected] [email protected]
The Heritage Interest of the Cretaceous Amber Outcrops in the Iberian Peninsula, and Their Management and Protection
All the amber outcrops of the Iberian Peninsula are Lower Cretaceous in age and, in the case of Spain, some of them have provided important arthropod specimens preserved as bioinclusions. These Spanish localities are rich in fossil taxa of phylogenetic relevance and evidence of both paleoecological interactions and paleobehaviors are also abundant. Despite their high heritage interest, the actions conducted to their protection and management have been very unequal. In some cases, only the generic laws of national or autonomous scopes protect this heritage. In this paper, the state of the art of the Iberian Peninsula amber outcrops and a review of the major Cretaceous amber outcrops worldwide for comparison are presented. That comparison shows, in general, that the best protection, both legal and physical, occurs in Spain and that the case of Portugal is very different. In addition, some actions aimed at a more effective protection and management of the amber outcrops in Spain and Portugal are proposed, for example the proposal to consider the San Just outcrop, located in the Aragonese Community, under a protection designation as is the so called Bien de Interés Cultural

Synergistic and antibiofilm activity of the antimicrobial peptide P5 against carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa
In the search for new antimicrobial molecules, antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) offer a viable alternative to conventional antibiotics, as they physically disrupt the bacterial membranes, leading to membrane disruption and eventually cell death. In particular, the group of linear α-helical cationic peptides has attracted increasing research and clinical interest. The AMP P5 has been previously designed as a cationic linear α-helical sequence, being its antimicrobial and hemolytic properties also evaluated. In this work, we analyzed the feasibility of using P5 against a carbapenem-resistant clinical isolate of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, one of the most common and risky pathogens in clinical practice. After antimicrobial activity confirmation in in vitro studies, synergistic activity of P5 with meropenem was evaluated, showing that P5 displayed significant synergistic activity in a time kill curve assay. The ability of P5 to permeabilize the outer membrane of P. aeruginosa can explain the obtained results. Finally, the antibiofilm activity was investigated by viability analysis (MTT assay), crystal violet and confocal imaging, with P5 displaying mild biofilm inhibition in the range of concentrations tested. Regarding biofilm disruption activity, P5 showed a higher efficacy, interfering with biofilm structure and promoting bacterial cell death. Atomic force microscope images further demonstrated the peptide potential in P. aeruginosa biofilm eradication, confirming the promising application of P5 in multi-resistant infections therapeutics.Fil: Martínez, Melina María Belén. Dietary supplementation habits in international natural bodybuilders during pre-competition
Bodybuilding is characterized by high-rates of sport supplementation. This is the first study to
compare the supplementation patterns of winners (WB) and non-winners (NWB) among international
natural bodybuilders during contest preparation. Fifty-six natural bodybuilders (5
women) (age = 28.85 ± 8.03 years; final body mass = 71.50 ± 10.28 kg), 19 WB (athletes who
had achieved victory in an official natural bodybuilding championship at least once) and 37 NWB
(athletes who never achieved victory), from 18 countries (55.36% from Spain) responded to this
cross-sectional online survey related to their nutritional habits, strategies and supplementation
practices. WB were significantly older (p = 0.024), completed more competitive seasons (p =
0.027) and participated in more competitions in the last contest year (p = 0.011). There were no
significant differences between WB and NWB for years training for bodybuilding (p = 0.055),
weeks of dieting for competition (p = 0.392), and body weight at the start (p = 0.553) and end (p
= 0.330) of the season. Beverage and supplement consumption, purchasing patterns, and information
sources did not differ between groups (p > 0.05). In conclusion, natural bodybuilding WB
tended to be older and had more competitive experience, but shared similar supplementation
protocols to NWB. Athletes’ supplementation patterns were influenced by different sources of
information. However, these natural bodybuilders mainly purchased their supplements through
the internet without guidance from a coach or dietitian
Color conductivity and ladder summation in hot QCD
The color conductivity is computed at leading logarithmic order using a Kubo
formula. We show how to sum an infinite series of planar ladder diagrams,
assuming some approximations based on the dominance of soft scattering
processes between hard particles in the plasma. The result agrees with the one
obtained previously from a kinetical approach.Comment: 15 pages, 4 figures. Explanations enlarged, two figures and some refs

AbstractIntroductionSince several years ago, music has been used as a therapeutic and preventive tool in neonatology. A great number of research papers have been written on the subject; however, this technique is rarely used in Mexico.ObjectiveTo improve the condition of neonates at Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) and their relatives, in order to minimize any stress and collateral damage.Material and methods: A group of two neonatologists, 3 residents, 10 nurses and a professional concert violinist, conducted six weekly music sessions in the Outpatient Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (ONICU) of our institution. During the concert, we individually assessed each newborn, recording vital signs through electronic monitoring; additionally, we recorded the mood of any other family members present.ResultsDuring the music sessions, the neonatal patients showed no significant changes in vital signs; yet, ONICU staff and the parents/relatives of hospitalized newborns showed beneficial effects, reporting decreased stress and high levels of satisfaction.ConclusionsMusic can have a positive effect as adjunctive therapy in high-risk newborns, especially in premature babies. We therefore recommend applying this methodology in the ONICU
Transport coefficients and ladder summation in hot gauge theories
We show how to compute transport coefficients in gauge theories by
considering the expansion of the Kubo formulas in terms of ladder diagrams in
the imaginary time formalism. All summations over Matsubara frequencies are
performed and the analytical continuation to get the retarded correlators is
done. As an illustration of the procedure, we present a derivation of the
transport equation for the shear viscosity in the scalar theory. Assuming the
Hard Thermal Loop approximation for the screening of distant collisions of the
hard particles in the plasma, we derive a couple of integral equations for the
effective vertices which, to logarithmic accuracy, are shown to be identical to
the linearized Boltzmann equations previously found by Arnold, Moore and Yaffe.Comment: 34 pages, 7 figures v2. Added discussion on box topologies for the
ladder rungs. Version to appear in Phys. Rev.
