Se clarifica el papel que los ingenieros Juan Merlo, Fernando Gutiérrez y Juan de Ribera tuvieron en la definición de la plaza de Oriente, uno de los espacios más emblemáticos de la ciudad de Madrid. Su proyecto de ordenación coincidente con la regencia de Espartero y llevado a cabo sólo parcialmente, dejó huella en el sitio, influyendo en la forma definitiva de la plaza. Al tiempo que se presenta a los personajes implicados, se analizan los antecedentes y el contenido, desarrollo y resultados de la operación

Vitruvio affigurato. Cesariano y el dibujo para el conocimiento

[EN] The Vitruvian edition of Cesare Cesariano is undoubtedly one of the key pieces of the architectural literature of its time. It is due to its content, trying to cancel a 1,500-year gap, updating and vulgarizing a knowledge considered as necessary. But perhaps its main value is its formalization, its way of presenting an integral discourse in which the verbal radically and intimately merges with the graphic in a work that uses the incipient resources of the printing press. Here, the main features of the drawings that make up the printed book and its Madrid handwritten complement will be summarily pointed out, tracing its affiliation and outlining its content and its most significant narrative resources. Rather than having been the author of the alleged second illustrated edition of the Ten Books, Cesariano deserves a preeminent place in the History of Architectural Drawing because of these resources.[ES] El Vitruvio de Cesare Cesariano es, sin duda, una de las piezas clave de la literatura arquitectónica de su época. Lo es por su contenido, por su esfuerzo para cancelar un abismo de 1.500 años actualizando y vulgarizando un saber considerado como necesario. Pero lo es sobre todo por su formalización, por su manera de plantear un discurso integral en el que lo verbal se funde radical e íntimamente con lo gráfico en una obra que utiliza los incipientes recursos de la imprenta. Aquí se señalan los principales rasgos de los dibujos que componen el libro y su complemento manuscrito madrileño, rastreando su filiación, su contenido y sus recursos narrativos más significativos. Aproximación a los usos de la comunidad scene en el intercambio no comercial de series televisivas en Internet

La disputa que subyace entre derechos de autor e Internet se asienta en la innovación disruptiva que supuso la digitalización de la imagen fílmica. Este sistema tecnológico permite a cualquier usuario la reproducción de réplicas exactas al original con gran facilidad y a bajo coste. Este proceso, representa, por tanto, la pérdida inmediata de la industria cinematográfica y televisiva de la exclusiva en la distribución de contenidos audiovisuales. De esta manera, el uso de la copia digital pone en riesgo la estabilidad del sistema clásico, que basa su beneficio económico en la comercialización de copias físicas. El cambio de paradigma tecnológico que surge tras la aparición de la codificación binaria, significó el perfecto catalizador del intercambio de material cinematográfico y televisivo en la Red. De igual forma, la disociación entre soporte y contenido que provocó la asimilación del proceso digital y que permitió la libre propagación de obras audiovisuales en Internet, ha supuesto un punto sin retorno en la forma de consumir estas obras fílmicas por parte de los espectadores actuales. En este sentido, las series de televisión, como producto de gran demanda, no han sido ajenas a esta situación. Así, este artículo expone, además de un breve recorrido histórico que identifica los principales hitos técnicos que sustentan el modelo actual de acceso, un análisis concreto de los usos de compartición en referencia a los contenidos seriados por parte de la comunidad scene, responsable inicial de este proceso.The problem behind copyright and the Internet is based on disruptive innovation that led to the digitization of the film image. This technological system allows any user the exact reproduction of the original replica easily and at low cost. This process causes immediate loss of exclusive film and television industry distribution of audiovisual content. Thus, the use of digital copying jeopardizes the stability of the classical system, which bases its economic benefit in marketing physical copies. The technological paradigm shift that comes after the appearance of the binary encoding, was the perfect catalyst for the file sharing of film and television products on the Web. Similarly, the dissociation between media and content that caused the assimilation of digital process and allowed the free propagation of audiovisual works on the Internet, has been a point of no return in the way people consume these filmic products. In this sense, the television series, as a result of high demand, have not been outside this situation. Thus, this article makes a brief historical tour that identifies the main technical milestones that support the current access model and also, performs a concrete analysis of the ways of file sharing about television series by the scene community, the initial responsable for this process.Ciencias de la Comunicació

A New Strategy to Improve the Performance of PDP-Systems Simulators

One of the major challenges that current P systems simulators have to deal with is to be as efficient as possible. A P system is syntactically described as a membrane structure delimiting regions where multisets of objects evolve by means of evolution rules. According to that, on each computation step, the applicability of the rules for the current P system configuration must be calculated. In this paper we extend previous works that use Rete-based simulation algorithm in order to improve the time consumed during the checking phase in the selection of rules. Estudio de técnicas para multitarea HW sobre FPGAs Tridimensionales (FPGA3D)

Este texto documenta el trabajo realizado por los autores para diseñar e implementar un simulador de FPGA 3D (Field Programmable Gate Array). Tras una introducción sobre aspectos generales del proyecto, se da una introducción sobre circuitos lógicos programables y en concreto sobre FPGA. Después se explica el motivo de interés en este proyecto. La segunda parte de la memoria contiene el diseño y la implementación propuestas para el simulado y detalla el trabajo realizado durante la creación del simulador. Finalmente se concluye el proyecto dando algunas posibles modificaciones para futuros trabajos. [ABSTRACT] This report documents the work done by the authors to design and implement a 3D graphics system on an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array). After an introduction about general points of the project, an introduction about programmable circuits and in particular about FPGA is given. Then we explain the reason of the interest of this project. The second part of this report contains the proposed graphics system design for FPGA implementation and details the work made during de creation of the 3D graphics system. Finally, chapter six concludes the project with some suggestions for future work

Do Credit Ratings Take into Account the Sustainability Performance of Companies?

In the last few decades, sustainability performance measuring has become a widely-studied issue, and various measurement proposals have been put forward. However, it is also important to know whether those measures are actually being used in the real world. In this case, we take one very important indicator used by investors when they make investment decisions: the credit rating of the potential investment. We test whether credit ratings take into account the above-mentioned measures. Following the literature, we conduct a fixed-effects ordered probit analysis, using as controls the variables usually found in the related literature on credit rating analysis. The dependent variables are S&P ratings. We find that companies with higher sustainability performance tend to have higher credit ratings, though having a less consistent performance over time seems to have no effect. To check the robustness of our results, we also perform the analysis for different sectors and sub-periods. In addition, we conduct the analysis using sustainability scores provided by ASSET4 (Datastream) as an explanatory variable and using Fitch credit ratings as the explained variable.M.C.-D. acknowledges research support from the University of the Basque Country, Grants PIF/UPV/12/258 and MOV 16/41. En pro de posicionar al liderazgo educativo como la teoría eje de la dirección, algunos programas formativos - sobre todo aquellos que siguen la tradición de formar a los directores escolares según el vaivén de las reformas educativas vigentes- corren el riesgo de tecnificar y simplificar la comprensión e instrumentación de estas teorías.
