Plotino e o ceticismo

O que segue é apenas o conjunto de algumas hipóteses de trabalho a respeito da presença de argumentos céticos nas Enéadas, particularmente no tratado V 3 [49]. O ceticismo apresenta-se no interior de um variegado de argumentos dos quais Plotino se vale contra teses que ele pretende criticar. Tais teses dizem respeito: a) ao conhecimento sensível, toma do como fonte do conhecimento verdadeiro, cujo questionamento leva Plotino a compreender que a verdade situa-se em outra instância que não a esfera do sensível; b) à identidade entre o Intelecto e seu conteúdo, no plano inteligível; c) ao questionamento da possibilidade de que o Intelecto divino, em seu sentido aristotélico, seja o princípio primeiro da realidade; d) à problemática da inefabilidade do Primeiro Princípio. Nossa estratégia será a de: a) abordarmos algumas hipóteses acerca da estrutura do inteligível e da possibilidade do conhecimento de si, identificando quais são os usos plotinianos de tal estrutura e como ela pode ser mobilizada na crítica ao Intelecto, se tomado como princípio. Desse problema decorre b) a identificação da presença do ceticismo na questão da negatividade fundamental do Primeiro Princípio inefável, que denota a impossibilidade absoluta de introduzir qualquer relação de alteridade e exterioridade provindas de nossas afecções, em nosso discurso sobre o Uno. Tais referências ao ceticismo levam-nos a considerar seu papel, como modus operandi, no interior da metodologia filosófica plotiniana. Nossa preocupação, portanto, é essencialmente metodológica.There follows a conjunction of working hypotheses about the presence of sceptical arguments in the Enneads, especially tractate V 3 [49]. Scepticism appears in various arguments Plotinus levels against theses he criticizes. Such theses are about: a. sense knowledge, taken as the source of true knowledge, whose questioning leads Plotinus to understand that truth does not rest in the sphere of the senses; b. the identity of the intellect and its content, in the intelligible plane; c. the questioning of the possibility of the divine intellect, in Aristotle's sense, being the first principle of reality; d. the problematic of the ineffability of the first principle. Our strategy will be to a. deal with some hypotheses about the structure of the intelligible and of the possibility of knowledge per se, identifying Plotinus' uses of such a structure and how it can be mobilized in the critique of the intellect, if regarded as a principle. From this problem b. follows: the identification of the presence of skepticism in the question of the fundamental negativity of the first ineffable principle, which denotes the absolute impossibility of introducing any relation of alterity and exteriority from our affections, in our discourse about the One. Such references to skepticism lead us consider its role, as modus operandi, in the interior of the Plotinian philosophical methodology. Our focus, therefore, is essentially methodological

Starting from Plotinus’ exegesis of the Heracles myth – either an athlete of virtue or an image of the double condition of humankind – we investigate the relationship between passion, virtue, purification and pleasure. An investigation of these elements in Plotinus’ ethics opens up a valuable way of questioning the purely dualist interpretation of Plotinian anthropology. The process by which such elements relate to one another must be understood in the context of the continuum of the life of the philosopher, for whom the ultimate rule of life is the ineffable One.Partindo da exegese plotiniana do mito de Héracles, seja como atleta da virtude, seja como imagem da dupla condição humana, trata-se de investigar a relação entre paixões, virtude, purificação e prazer. Tal investigação da relação entre esses elementos da ética plotiniana torna-se uma via privilegiada de acesso para questionar uma interpretação puramente dualista da antropologia de Plotino. O LÉXICO ESPECIALIZADO DA ÁREA SECRETARIAL: ANÁLISE MORFOLÓGICA E PROCESSOS DE FORMAÇÃO DE NEÔNIMOS

Through morfological analysis in specialized texts, we investigated some issues concerning terminological studies in the Executive Secretariat area and propose an analysis about the process of neologism formation that occurs in texts of that area. This study is developed through the application of morfological knowledge in order to identify new terminological units (TUs) of this specific language in a technical corpus, and analyze the formation process of these terms. Due to the characterization of the secretarial area as a new area of scientific knowledge, we verified the existence of several neologisms formed mainly by the morfosyntactic formation processes and syntagmatic grouping without connectors derived from the basewords “advisory” and “assist”.A partir de análises morfológicas em textos de especialidade, foi possível investigar algumas questões que possam satisfazer à necessidade de estudos terminológicos na área de Secretariado Executivo, propondo uma análise sobre o processo de formação de neônimos em textos desse âmbito. Este estudo se dá através da aplicação dos conhecimentos morfológicos para identificar novas unidades terminológicas (UTs) dessa língua de especialidade em um corpus técnico e também pela análise dos processos de formação desses termos. Devido à caracterização da área secretarial como uma nova área do conhecimento científico, verificou-se a existência de vários neônimos formados, principalmente, pelos processos de formação morfossintático e agrupamento sintagmático sem conector, a partir das palavras-base “assessoria” e “assessorar”

Analyzing complexities in the Brazilian soybean supply chain: a systems thinking and modeling approach

Purpose This study aims to analyze the complexities of the Brazilian soybean supply chain (SSC) and develop strategic interventions to improve the origin system’s performance. Design/methodology/approach This study used stakeholder interviews to identify the SSC bottlenecks and determine and assess drivers of competitiveness. A methodological framework based on the systems thinking approach for developing long-term structural changes was used. The problem was structured using behavior over time graph and causal loop modeling to propose three investment strategies to solve the logistics problem in SSC. Findings This study highlights the gaps in coordination between stakeholders and the public sector regarding the public policy for infrastructure investment. Three strategic interventions were developed to address the agro-industrial logistical problem, namely, investment in storage, multimodal transport systems and improvements in existing transport infrastructure. To overcome transport and storage logistics limitations, the authors suggest different forms of partnerships, including public-private partnerships. Research limitations/implications This research is limited to evaluating an agricultural commodity (soybean) and does not include its by-products. The sample of stakeholders was limited and the boundary of analysis was Brazil. Nevertheless, the study showed how strategic interventions could be developed following a holistic analysis. Practical implications The proposed integrated approach illustrates the development of three strategic initiatives. It can be implemented by stakeholders, including the public sector, which is the basis for providing assertive long-term investments in Brazilian logistics. Social implications The SSC analysis could promote the implementation of systemically determined interventions and strategies. It could significantly improve the performance of agricultural systems and help the formulation of public policies aimed at rural development. Originality/value The use of system dynamics to identify intervention points is an essential contribution to mitigating the SSC’s hindrances. Moreover, the combining methodologies resulted in comprehensive intervention strategies

Impacto da COVID-19 no rastreamento do câncer de mama no Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS)

Objectives: investigating the impact of the pandemic on breast cancer screening in the Unified Health System, in addition to comparing the data obtained from other countries. Methods: a quantitative cross-sectional observational study was carried out, with references from the Cancer Information System - SISCAN on the number of mammograms performed from 2014 to 2022 by women in Brazil. Results: data regarding mammography in the high-risk population showed a drop of 38,39% from 2019 to 2020. While in screening mammography, the decline was slightly more significant, at 39.18% in the same period. Regarding diagnostic mammography, the reduction was 33.15%, and in target population mammography, the peak was in 2019 with 2.721.075. On the other hand, the performance of mammography in patients already treated had a smaller decrease of 9.35%. Conclusions: there was a significant reduction in the number of mammograms performed in 2019 and 2020, which might lead to a late diagnosis of the disease and a worse prognosis.Objetivos: investigar o impacto da pandemia no rastreamento do câncer de mama no Sistema Único de Saúde e comparar os dados obtidos com os de outros países. Métodos: foi realizado um estudo observacional transversal quantitativo, com dados provenientes do Sistema de Informação do Câncer – SISCAN sobre o número de mamografias feitas de 2014 a 2022 por mulheres, no Brasil. Resultados: os dados referentes à mamografia na população de risco elevado demonstraram uma queda de 38,39% de 2019 para 2020. Enquanto na mamografia de rastreamento a queda foi ligeiramente maior, de 39,18% nesse mesmo período. Em relação à mamografia diagnóstica, a redução foi de 33,15%, e na mamografia de população-alvo, o ápice foi em 2019 com 2.721.075. Em contrapartida, a realização de mamografia em pacientes já tratadas, teve uma menor queda, de 9,35%. Conclusões: observou-se uma queda significativa no número de mamografias realizadas em 2019 e 2020, o que poderá acarretar em diagnósticos tardios da doença e piores prognósticos

O presente texto é uma reflexão sobre o pensamento da Igreja acerca das atividades dos mercadores no Ocidente entre os séculos XI e XIII, utilizando como fonte de análise a obra Suma Teológica (2005), escrita pelo filósofo São Tomás de Aquino. Durante a Idade Média, a Igreja apresentou-se como uma instituição que visava regulamentar a vida dos cristãos e, para tanto, criou uma série de códigos de conduta sobre as profissões, entre elas a de mercador, sendo que Tomás de Aquino afirmava ser lícita a prática comercial, em especial, pelo fato de ser o meio de sustento para muitas famílias. Porém, o comerciante deveria agir de acordo com a moral cristã em suas atividades de compra e venda
