    [EN]The paper focuses on the building of a collaborative tool between experts and linguists in the detection, categorisation and creation of neology in Spanish in the field of neurosciences. The pro- / inter- active relationship between new knowledge and its cross-linguistic realisation, and the possibility of enhancing it by digital means, is the main goal of our research. Several tools and work methodologies that will be useful in the inception and development of experiments with experts in the field of the neurosciences are described, such as the upper classes of NIFSTD and wikis as a collaborative tool to carry out our prototype experimen

    Formal description of conceptual relationship with a view to implementing them in the ontology editor Protége

    In this article we present a catalogue of conceptual relationships in which each relationship is defined formally in terms of its properties and the nature of the conceptual classes involved. By making explicit the conceptual relationships of the catalogue using the standard ontology editor Protégé we should be able to retrieve conceptual knowledge in an onomasiological way using the Queries function of the editor. In the final part of the article we present a sample query taken from the analysis of the terminology of finished ceramic products in order to show how information about relationships can be retrieved

    Los corpus paralelos bilingües como herramienta metodológica en traducción : análisis de la competencia traductora de los estudiantes en el corpus UCMA-MUST (inglés-español)

    El proyecto MUST (MUltilingual Student Translation) (Granger y Lefer, 2018: 72) tiene como objetivo compilar un corpus paralelo multilingüe de traducciones realizadas por estudiantes sin experiencia en el campo de la traducción. En el marco de este proyecto, el equipo UCMA (de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid) aporta un subcorpus bilingüe de textos especializados traducidos por estudiantes en los ámbitos audiovisual y de las humanidades, entre otros. Teniendo en cuenta las cinco subcompetencias propias de la adquisición de la competencia traductora (lingüística, extralingüística, de transferencia, profesional, psicofisiológica y estratégica [PACTE, 2001 y 2003]), este estudio persigue detectar las debilidades y fortalezas presentes en las tareas de traducción inglés-castellano de los estudiantes. Para ilustrarlas, se ha utilizado el sistema de anotación TAS propuesto por Granger y Lefer (2018) y Granger, Lefer y Penha Marion (2018), junto con una muestra de textos humanísticos a cargo de traductores en formación universitaria (postgrado) que se encuentran almacenados en el corpus UCMA

    MetaMap versus BERT models with explainable active learning: ontology-based experiments with prior knowledge for COVID-19

    Emergence of the Coronavirus 2019 Disease has highlighted further the need for timely support for clinicians as they manage severely ill patients. We combine Semantic Web technologies with Deep Learning for Natural Language Processing with the aim of converting human-readable best evi-dence/practice for COVID-19 into that which is computer-interpretable. We present the results of experiments with 1212 clinical ideas (medical terms and expressions) from two UK national healthcare services specialty guides for COVID-19 and three versions of two BMJ Best Practice documents for COVID-19. The paper seeks to recognise and categorise clinical ideas, performing a Named Entity Recognition (NER) task, with an ontology providing extra terms as context and describing the intended meaning of categories understandable by clinicians. The paper investigates: 1) the performance of classical NER using MetaMap versus NER with fine-tuned BERT models; 2) the integration of both NER approaches using a lightweight ontology developed in close collaboration with senior doctors; and 3) the easy interpretation by junior doctors of the main classes from the ontology once populated with NER results. We report the NER performance and the observed agreement for human audits

    Viticultores, pero enoturistas: Variación neológica y registros de uso en el lenguaje del vino

    El presente estudio tiene como objetivo analizar la productividad de los principales formantes utilizados en este ámbito en español, eno-, vino-/vini- y viti-/viñ-. Por un lado, pretendemos acercarnos a estos neologismos y analizar los mecanismos de actualización léxica que se sirven de 6 Viticultores, pero enoturistas: variación neológica y registros de uso en el lenguaje del vino1 1 La elaboración del presente trabajo ha sido posible gracias a los siguientes proyectos de investigación: Mecanismos de generación neológica y actualización léxica del español a través del estudio de la prensa castellanoleonesa (NeoUSAL II), financiado por la Consejería de Educación de la Junta de Castilla y León (ref. SA274U13) y Regulación de los procesos neológicos y los neologismos en las áreas de neurociencias (NEURONEO), financiado por el Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia (ref. FFI2012-34596). Nava Maroto & Miguel Sánchez Ibáñez154 estos formantes. Por otro, perseguimos comprobar si existe alguna preferencia por el recurso a alguno de los formantes en función del ámbito en el que se emplean las nuevas denominaciones; en concreto, si el formante eno-, que como veremos está connotado positivamente, se aplica de manera sistemática en contextos más turísticos y relacionados con el ocio, en detrimento de los otros formantes estudiados. Por último, analizamos brevemente el comportamiento de los formantes equivalentes en dos lenguas cercanas, como son el francés y el italiano, para comprobar hasta qué punto dicha connotación es constante
