This article analyzes the headlines of vitamin de magazine as an image forming tool, which contributes to the formation of the idea of Germany as one of the best educational centres in Europe, for foreign students as well. A headline, as the substantive and intentional core of the whole magazine article, is able to convey the image of the country and its values relevant to the 12+ readership. The study showed that the features of the magazine such as Another View, Country Studies, Life, Vitamin de in Regions, Dialogue, Profession, German Inventors, Tradition, Psychological Test, Recipe, (Professional) Training generate the image characteristics of the country of the target language. The headlines of the articles in these features create an image of Germany as a country with an advantageous geographical position, a country with rich cultural traditions and values accepted by the Russian audience. Headlines about joint German-Russian educational, creative and environmental activities, accessible to all age groups of Russian youth, contribute significantly to the image of Germany as a country with a high research potential, where theory and practice are inextricably linked. The image properties of Germany, practically ideological paradigms “outwardly” directed, are critically reinterpreted in the headlines of those articles in which students with the experience of living in the country share their impressions. Thus, a more realistic view of the destination country with educational objectives is created. Another View feature, as the results of the study show, is designed to balance the ideal and the realistic picture of the country of the target language

Large-scale changes in the social and economic spheres of Russian society revealed the demands for managers with non-standard thinking and a high cultural level. Specific and ambiguous processes in politic, economic and social spheres in different parts of the world have general trends reflecting the evolution of global civilization. In this context, educational systems received new functions aimed at moral growth and improvement of competencies. The highest demand in the field of education is for experienced teachers and administrators who are able to improve the system of education and upbringing, develop scenarios for managing the teaching and learning process, offer the personality-oriented trajectories for students, make an independent choice and fulfill corrective and diagnostic functions. The transformed socio-economic context led to positive changes in the field of professional education. One of the basic features of the modern educational systems is the training of highly qualified education managers. Such individual characteristics as the ability to continuous self-improvement, creativity, communication skills, entrepreneurial skills, the ability to analyze and foresee, etc. play an increasing role in the professional training. The most important place in the training of education managers is occupied by pedagogical technologies aimed at mastering the necessary competencies in economics, management, psychology and related disciplines. In the context of the innovative transformations of Russian education, the pressing need to integrate new management schemes into the practice of educational institutions and the problem of pedagogical training in the field of management becomes very urgent. Qualified management creates conditions for improving the educational environment, increasing the quality of educational services. The educational system should prepare young citizens capable of making a feasible contribution to the formation of the law-based state. Currently, it is necessary to optimize the activities of education managers responsible for the implementation of the state programs to improve and innovate the economy, science and education. The management culture of education managers is beginning to play a decisive role in the creation of a democratic society in the Russian Federation based on respect for individual rights and freedoms. The creation of the most favorable conditions for the integration of students into the educational and cultural environment is aimed at creating a high level of management culture of future education managers

The world’s economies are focused on sustainable development and food security. One of the main components of the food security system of the country - agricultural production - is highlighted. The study aims to identify the problems and prospects for the development of food security. The objectives of the study are related to the justification of the system of indicators (criteria) to assess the level of food security of countries, the choice of the list of countries for comparative analysis, conducting economic and statistical analysis, formulating directions to improve food security management. The system of indicators to assess the level of food security in the countries based on the assessment of average annual indices of production and consumption of products per capita and per arable land or livestock, poultry. An assessment of food security in terms of agricultural development indicators was conducted for the years 2010-2018. The scientific novelty of the research consists in the development of a methodology for assessing food security indicators, assessment of progressive and negative changes in the level of food security, formulation of conclusions to improve food security in Russia. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of developing a more efficient state agricultural policy

Label-free macroscopic fluorescence lifetime imaging of brain tumors

Advanced stage glioma is the most aggressive form of malignant brain tumors with a short survival time. Real-time pathology assisted, or image guided surgical procedures that eliminate tumors promise to improve the clinical outcome and prolong the lives of patients. Our work is focused on the development of a rapid and sensitive assay for intraoperative diagnostics of glioma and identification of optical markers essential for differentiation between tumors and healthy brain tissues. We utilized fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM) of endogenous fluorophores related to metabolism of the glioma from freshly excised brains tissues. Macroscopic time-resolved fluorescence images of three intracranial animal glioma models and surgical samples of patients\u27 glioblastoma together with the white matter have been collected. Several established and new algorithms were applied to identify the imaging markers of the tumors. We found that fluorescence lifetime parameters characteristic of the glioma provided background for differentiation between the tumors and intact brain tissues. All three rat tumor models demonstrated substantial differences between the malignant and normal tissue. Similarly, tumors from patients demonstrated statistically significant differences from the peritumoral white matter without infiltration. While the data and the analysis presented in this paper are preliminary and further investigation with a larger number of samples is required, the proposed approach based on the macroscopic FLIM has a high potential for diagnostics of glioma and evaluation of the surgical margins of gliomas

Background Melphalan flufenamide (melflufen), an alkylating peptide-drug conjugate, plus dexamethasone showed clinical activity and manageable safety in the phase 2 HORIZON study. We aimed to determine whether melflufen plus dexamethasone would provide a progression-free survival benefit compared with pomalidomide plus dexamethasone in patients with previously treated multiple myeloma. Methods In this randomised, open-label, head-to-head, phase 3 study (OCEAN), adult patients (aged ≥18 years) were recruited from 108 university hospitals, specialist hospitals, and community-based centres in 21 countries across Europe, North America, and Asia. Eligible patients had an ECOG performance status of 0–2; must have had relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, refractory to lenalidomide (within 18 months of randomisation) and to the last line of therapy; and have received two to four previous lines of therapy (including lenalidomide and a proteasome inhibitor). Patients were randomly assigned (1:1), stratified by age, number of previous lines of therapy, and International Staging System score, to either 28-day cycles of melflufen and dexamethasone (melflufen group) or pomalidomide and dexamethasone (pomalidomide group). All patients received dexamethasone 40 mg orally on days 1, 8, 15, and 22 of each cycle. In the melflufen group, patients received melflufen 40 mg intravenously over 30 min on day 1 of each cycle and in the pomalidomide group, patients received pomalidomide 4 mg orally daily on days 1 to 21 of each cycle. The primary endpoint was progression-free survival assessed by an independent review committee in the intention-to-treat (ITT) population. Safety was assessed in patients who received at least one dose of study medication. This study is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT03151811, and is ongoing. Findings Between June 12, 2017, and Sept 3, 2020, 246 patients were randomly assigned to the melflufen group (median age 68 years [IQR 60–72]; 107 [43%] were female) and 249 to the pomalidomide group (median age 68 years [IQR 61–72]; 109 [44%] were female). 474 patients received at least one dose of study drug (melflufen group n=228; pomalidomide group n=246; safety population). Data cutoff was Feb 3, 2021. Median progression-free survival was 6·8 months (95% CI 5·0–8·5; 165 [67%] of 246 patients had an event) in the melflufen group and 4·9 months (4·2–5·7; 190 [76%] of 249 patients had an event) in the pomalidomide group (hazard ratio [HR] 0·79, [95% CI 0·64–0·98]; p=0·032), at a median follow-up of 15·5 months (IQR 9·4–22·8) in the melflufen group and 16·3 months (10·1–23·2) in the pomalidomide group. Median overall survival was 19·8 months (95% CI 15·1–25·6) at a median follow-up of 19·8 months (IQR 12·0–25·0) in the melflufen group and 25·0 months (95% CI 18·1–31·9) in the pomalidomide group at a median follow-up of 18·6 months (IQR 11·8–23·7; HR 1·10 [95% CI 0·85–1·44]; p=0·47). The most common grade 3 or 4 treatment-emergent adverse events were thrombocytopenia (143 [63%] of 228 in the melflufen group vs 26 [11%] of 246 in the pomalidomide group), neutropenia (123 [54%] vs 102 [41%]), and anaemia (97 [43%] vs 44 [18%]). Serious treatment-emergent adverse events occurred in 95 (42%) patients in the melflufen group and 113 (46%) in the pomalidomide group, the most common of which were pneumonia (13 [6%] vs 21 [9%]), COVID-19 pneumonia (11 [5%] vs nine [4%]), and thrombocytopenia (nine [4%] vs three [1%]). 27 [12%] patients in the melflufen group and 32 [13%] in the pomalidomide group had fatal treatment-emergent adverse events. Fatal treatment-emergent adverse events were considered possibly treatment related in two patients in the melflufen group (one with acute myeloid leukaemia, one with pancytopenia and acute cardiac failure) and four patients in the pomalidomide group (two patients with pneumonia, one with myelodysplastic syndromes, one with COVID-19 pneumonia). Interpretation Melflufen plus dexamethasone showed superior progression-free survival than pomalidomide plus dexamethasone in patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma.Oncopeptides ABPeer reviewe

The aim of the study is to analyze the legal framework for the use and development of various educational technologies, including distance learning, e-learning, in the implementation of educational programs as measures for the formation of the information space of knowledge. The research methodology, based on objective facts and a logical-analytical tool of scientific knowledge, made it possible to understand the ways of obtaining new scientific knowledge, predetermined the main directions of research, ensured the comprehensiveness of obtaining information, and made it possible to systematize the knowledge gained. The article analyzes the legal framework governing the field of education. It was found that despite the development of information technologies, including in the field of education, there is no single developed terminological apparatus that would allow participants in the educational process to understand the content of such concepts as "learning and education in distance and electronic forms", as well as to distinguish between They noted that the amendments made in 2020 to the Law on Education, caused by the emergency situation related to the spread of the new coronavirus infection and the transition of educational institutions to distance learning, did not solve the indicated problem
