A closed-form solution to predict short-range surface plasmons in thin films and its application to hole arrays

A theoretical study of surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) in ultrathin lossy metal films is presented. The dispersion relation of such films is well known and can be solved numerically to obtain a combination of long-range (LR-) and short-range (SR-) eigenmodes. In this contribution, a simple solution for the SR-SPPs is derived. An approximation for the LR- eigenmodes can be found elsewhere. To validate the approximation, a two dimensional (2D) periodic array of small holes is studied subsequently. The spectral response of the array is obtained by full-wave simulations and the results compared with those calculated analytically, showing an excellent agreement for small holes

Percepción de los docentes sobre sus alumnos migrantes en las escuelas primarias de la ciudad de Rosario, Argentina

Los flujos migratorios internacionales hacia la Argentina se han mantenido constantes desde el primer Censo Nacional de población en 1869. En la actualidad,la Argentina es un destino elegido por los migrantes por diferentes causas: su ubicación geográfica, su vigente ley de migración que consagra el derecho a la inmigración y garantiza el trato igualitario, lo que asegura posibilidades de trabajo, el acceso a la educación y sistema de salud estatal; entre otras cuestiones. En este trabajo se parte del estudio de las migraciones contemporáneas para analizar cómo el discurso docente evalúa el desempeño de los alumnos migrantes en las escuelas primarias públicas y privadas de la ciudad de Rosario. Los migrantes ocupan un lugar visible en la sociedad Argentina, y los docentes dan cuenta de las producciones simbólicas colectivas que se crean entorno a los mismos. El artículo forma parte de una investigación mayor donde se buscó indagar las acciones inclusivas de los docentes desde un enfoque intercultural, los posibles actos de discriminación al interior de las escuelas y los procesos de construcción de identidad en los alumnos migrantes. El recorte empírico se realizó en ocho escuelas primarias ubicadas en diferentes zonas de la ciudad. Se utilizaron tres técnicas de recolección de información: la entrevista, la encuesta y la observación desde un enfoque cuali-cuantitativo, priorizando lo cualitativo. Se realizó una triangulación de toda la información para arribar a conclusiones certeras. En esta oportunidad se comparte el análisis realizado sobre los actos de discriminación en las escuelas.International migration towards Argentina have remained constant since the first national population census in 1869. Actually, Argentina is the chosen destination by migrants because of its geographical location and because of the migrant´s law that guarantees migrants rights and equal treatment, this point guarantees work possibilities and access to educations and health care. This work begins from study of contemporary migration with the propose of analyzing how educational speech tests the migrant students pupils performance in public and private primary schools in the city of Rosario. Migrants are in a visible place in the Argentina society, and teachers evidence what society built around migrants. This article is part of a wider investigation (2009-2012) in which we seek to investigate the inclusive actions from an intercultural approach and to indentify possible discrimination actions at schools and to note the processes of identity construction in migrant students. The focus target has been done in eight primary schools localized in different places of the city. Three techniques of data collection were used: interview, survey and observation from a qualitative and quantitative approach, prioritizing the qualitative. We have done a triangulation of all the information with the propose of reaching accuracy conclusions. A influência da Cooperação Internacional no Campo da Comunicação Latino-Americana

¿Cuál ha sido el papel de la cooperación internacional en la configuración de las prácticas, investigación, educación y políticas de comunicación en América Latina desde los años 70? ¿Ha reforzado los modelos participativos o los de modernización?Argumento que la ayuda extranjera a la comunicación en América Latina fue crucial para: (1) desarrollar las principales instituciones del campo de la comunicación regional; (2) promover intelectuales, activistas y políticos tanto en el campo de la comunicación como en el político; y (3) potenciar organizaciones que tuvieron impacto en las reformas de las políticas de comunicación durante los últimos 15 años. La asistencia internacional ha ayudado a promover actores asociados a modelos participativos, al tiempo que promueve políticas modernizadoras.What hasbeen the role of international cooperation in shaping practices, research, education and policies of communication in Latin America? My argument is: foreign aid to communication in Latin America was crucial to: (1) develop the main institutions in the field of regional communication; (2) promote intellectuals, activists and politicians both in the field of communication and in politics; and (3) strengthen organizations that had an impact on the reforms of communication policies during the last 15 years. International assistance has helped promote actors associated with participatory models, while promoting modernizing policies.Qual tem sido o papel da cooperação internacional na formação de práticas, pesquisa, educação e políticas de comunicação na América Latina? The collection of devotional glazed-tile wall panels of the Camil Visedo Moltó Municipal Archaeological Museum of Alcoy

Entre els fons materials de l’època Moderna i Contemporània que es custodien al Museu Arqueològic Municipal d’Alcoi, destaca un conjunt amb més de vint-i-cinc plafons ceràmics devocionals dels segles XVIII al XX, dels quals es presenta el catàleg i un avanç a l’estudi d’aquestes manifestacions de la religiositat popular. Moltes d’aquestes pintures ceràmiques de tema religiós han estat recuperades de determinats edificis antics d’Alcoi, de manera prèvia a la seua demolició. Paraules clau: Plafons ceràmics devocionals. XVIII-XX.Among the materials of the Modern and Contemporary epoch preserved at the Alcoi Municipal Archaeological Museum, we should highlight a set of more than twenty-five devotional glazed-tile wall panels ranging from the 18th up to the 20thcentury, of which herein we present a catalogue and as well as a preview of the study of these examples of popular religiousness. Many of these religious tile-ware paintings have been recovered from a number of old local buildings just before pulling them down. Key words: Devotional glazed-tile panels.
