La finanza sociale come strumento per le politiche pubbliche = Social finance as a tool for public policies. WP C.S.D.L.E. “Massimo D’Antona”.IT – 350/2018

Our work elaborates on the high social impact household saving could generate if channelled (at least, partially) into social impact investments in a win-win formula for both household and the society as a whole. More specifically, we focus on two financial products with both a monetary return along with a well defined social impact: Social Bonds (SB) and Social Impact Bonds (SIB). While social bonds reduce the net return in favour of the setting up of a social programme, the Social Impact Bonds represent an innovative and breakthrough concept that mixes the traditional investment, be it risky or risk free, with a social connotation in a unique public-private partnership

Geometry and movement, Latin Americans in the International Art Network

The work of Latin American constructive and kinetic artists produced in the nineteen-sixties is well recognized by art histories. It has been the topic of countless exhibitions and enjoyed increasing value on the international art market. Notwithstanding, the valorization of those contributions and their interactions still requires novel visions capable of dislodging crystalized readings. We ask ourselves, then, in what scenes these emerging proposals took shape. How did artists come into contact and engage in exchange? What were their guiding interests? In this paper, I attempt to retrace some of the paths Argentine constructive artists drew in their interest in communicating their proposals and forging artistic exchanges. In so doing, I seek to shed light on zones neglected by art history’s traditional narratives. I attempt to observe the convergences and divergences between the paths drawn by those artists without falling into the notion of subalternity at play in those traditional narratives.

Making nursing diagnoses is the second step of the nursing process. It is a source of nursing knowledge and essential for the planning and implementing of effective nursing interventions that promote quality nursing care. Integrative literature review is a research method that allows for gathering and synthesizing available evidence about a topic. Thus, the purpose of this review was to argue that integrative literature review is the initial step in the nursing diagnoses validation process. Important aspects in conducting integrative literature reviews are presented through an example, including their contributions to refine and validate nursing diagnoses proposed by the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association International's (NANDA-I) Taxonomy II, which can guide the planning and implementation of quality nursing. EFFECTIVENESS OF SLAB51 PROBIOTICS AND Moringa oleifera LEAF MEAL FOR TREATMENT OF COCCIDIOSIS IN BROILERS

Coccidiosis is the major parasitic disease of poultry and it is caused by protozoa of the phylum Apicomplexa, family Eimeriidae. Drugs and vaccines are the two main control measures for this disease however, due to concerns on prophylactic drugs use and the high vaccines cost, alternative methods are needed. The use of probiotics is now preferred to antibiotics in poultry industry. Also herbal preparations could be an alternative to treat coccidiosis in poultry and Drumstick tree (Moringa oleifera) is indicate for its effectiveness. Aim of this study is to formulate a new poultry diet, integrated with probiotic blend SLAB51 (Sivoy®, Mendes SA, Switzerland) or Moringa oleifera leaf meal, to avoid parasitic overgrowth and the usual administration of anticoccidic drugs. Three groups (M=Moringa; P=probiotics; C=control) of 150 chickens each, with naturally acquired coccidia infection, were studied. All groups were breeded and feeded in the same conditions. Group M received M. oleifera leaf meal added to the food (5%) from day 60 and Group P received SLAB51 probiotics in water (7.5 Billion/50ml), from day 1. At day 120, poultry were slaughtered and gut samples were collected for histopathology. Intestinal morphology (IM) was evaluated: sections from duodenum, ileum and cecum were used to measure the height of villi, the depth of crypts, and the ratio villi/crypts. At the level of cecum, thickness of the lamina propria was measured. Lesions due to coccidia replication were evaluated according to Lesions Score (LS) criteria. The scoring system was standardized for a scale of 0 to 4 [6]. Data on growth performances and mortality were recorded. Lesion Score (LS) and oocysts count (OC=oocysts/microscopic field) in different intestinal tracts were used to evaluate the different groups. In group P, LS, OC, IM, ponderal increase, final weight and mortality reduction were statistically significant, compared to group C. In group M, only LS, OC and mortality reduction resulted statistically significant. M. oleifera leaves had a positive effect against the coccidiosis but had no effect on the IM, ponderal increase and final weight. In general, group P showed better results than group M. SLAB51 probiotics seem to have a protective activity in poultry coccidiosis, and an addictional auxinic activity, preserving IM and integrity. In conclusion, M. oleifera leaf meal and SLAB51 probiotics can be useful to formulating a diet that avoids the use of anticoccidial drugs in broilers

Tardigrades from northwestern Patagonia (Neuquén Province, Argentina) with the description of three new species

Fifteen moss and lichen samples collected in localities of the Neuquén province, Argentina contained tardigrades and their eggs. Eighteen species were found, three being new to science: Macrobiotus neuquensis sp. nov., Macrobiotus tehuelchensis sp. nov., and Minibiotus claxtonae sp. nov. Macrobiotus neuquensis sp. nov can be differentiated from the other species of harmsworthi group by the presence of a cuticular bar and a refractile zone in the first three pairs of legs. Also the characteristics of the eggs such as the shape and distribution of processes allow a distinction from other species. Macrobiotus tehuelchensis sp. nov. differs from other similar species by the measurements of some structures of the buccal apparatus and the characteristics of the eggs (the shape of the processes). Minibiotus claxtonae is characterized by the presence of three macroplacoids, microplacoid and cuticular pores arranged in transverse bands. The new species of Minibiotus is distinguished from other species of the genus by the distribution and shape of the pores (round and star shaped), presence of granulation on the legs and some characteristics of the eggs (e. g., the absence of a membrane, the shape of the processes).Fil: Rossi, Gustavo Carlos. Le più antiche fondazioni di canoniche regolari a Pisa tra XI e XII secolo: vicende storiche e rappresentazione documentaria

Our information on the foundation of Pisa's oldest canons regular rectories, Santa Maria a Fine and San Pietro in Vincoli, comes from a series of diplomatically- anomalous documents. This essay discusses various hypotheses regarding their possible falsification, adjustment and copying. Definitively, however, it seems more plausible that said documents were drawn up at a later time than that expressly declared on the founding documents and that they should be read with an aim to retrospectively reconstruct the town's ecclesiastic history materialised via these documents

    Voting with Random Classifiers (VORACE)

In many machine learning scenarios, looking for the best classifier that fits a particular dataset can be very costly in terms of time and resources. Moreover, it can require deep knowledge of the specific domain. We propose a new technique which does not require profound expertise in the domain and avoids the commonly used strategy of hyper-parameter tuning and model selection. Our method is an innovative ensemble technique that uses voting rules over a set of randomly-generated classifiers. Given a new input sample, we interpret the output of each classifier as a ranking over the set of possible classes. We then aggregate these output rankings using a voting rule, which treats them as preferences over the classes. We show that our approach obtains good results compared to the state-of-the-art, both providing a theoretical analysis and an empirical evaluation of the approach on several datasets
