Localización en parques científico-tecnológicos, capacidades dinámicas e innovación empresarial

    Get PDF
Two of the main characteristics of the science and technology parks (STPs) are the proximity between companies and other institutions and the rise of collaborative networks. These features promote external knowledge flows that can be used by firms in their innovation strategies in order to be more competitive. However, the location in a STP does not warrant the use of these advantages by companies located in them, which depends on individual dynamics capabilities. Considering a sample of 610 high-tech companies with data from PITEC, the results of this study show that innovation is positively influenced by the location in a STP and by dynamic capabilities, like absorptive and alliance management capacities, whose development is also improved in the context of STPs

Types of agglomeration economies: effects on business innovation

    Get PDF
A review of the literature does not provide conclusive results about the effects caused by firm agglomeration on innovation. In order to shed light on this issue, this paper draws a distinction among three kinds of agglomeration economies and empirically tests their respective impact on business innovation. The advantage that external knowledge generated through concentration can bring to each company depends on its absorptive capacity. Hence, it is posited that this dynamic capability acts as a mediator in the relationship between agglomeration and innovation. Using data from a survey conducted in 2013 by the Technological Innovation Panel (PITEC), an analysis of these ideas was performed using a sample of 2,906 high and medium-high technology companies. The results obtained indicate that several types of agglomeration economies exist and that the net effect each one of them has on innovation is different. More specifically, only urbanization economies favor innovation. Additionally, all of our findings reveal that firms increase their greater absorptive capacity in the context of agglomeration

The present research paper has as its aim to try and identify the main research streams within the human resource management scientific field or domain through the analysis of all the research papers published in The International Journal of Human Resource Management (IJHRM) during the period comprised between 2000 and 2012. In other words or expressed differently, the »intellectual structure» of the discipline under study —the HRM discipline. The authors utilize bibliometric methods to achieve that aim, in particular, author citation and co-citation analyses (ACA). Social networks analysis (SNA) was also used to proceed with the visualization of that knowledge structure or base. As for results, the analysis developed would have allowed us to define the different research lines or fronts which shape the intellectual structure of the research carried out in the field of human resource management

Clusters into Poland and Spain: comparative case study of two clusters from the agricultural industry

    Get PDF
The aim of the publication is to compare two clusters from different parts of Europe, detailing the stages of its development and make recommendations for the future development of the two. The methodology proposes using the case study examples of two clusters from Poland and Spain, both linked to the food area. While Agrofood is characterised by the large number of firms, a complementary industry, universities and research centres, the Ecological Food Valley cluster is at an initial development stage and still has not sufficient economic resources to be maintained with full autonomy, and to become competitive. The main recommendation is that the evolution of Agrofood illustrates the stages that the Ecological Food Valley cluster could go through in its own evolution

    Get PDF

Dynamic Capabilities View within the Field of Strategic Management Field: A Bibliometric Analysis

    Get PDF
The dynamic capabilities view has been established as one of the most influential theoretical perspectives in contemporary strategic management, raising the need to use bibliometric tools. The work aims to identify the intellectual structure of dynamic capabilities view within the scientific field of strategic management by analyzing 823 research articles published on the Web of Science Core Collection. The results obtained from the analysis of 13,144 cited references have provided important conclusions to one of the most vibrant debates of this study approach, the confrontation between two of the seminal contributions of the dynamic capabilities literature. In addition to shedding light on the ongoing debate in the literature, this paper has achieved some research findings. First, it improves the comprehensive theoretical justification of the need to implement bibliometric techniques in the study field. It lets the researcher could better understand the foundations of the analyses performed. Furthermore, the author and co-citation analysis served to build the respective network and to group the most-cited references into four clusters. These results have been of great use in understanding the current intellectual structure and how to propose the relevant research currents in this field of study. Finally, the conclusions obtained are subject to certain limitations. On the one hand, this research is based on a sample of documents published on the Web of Science Core Collection database. On the other hand, emphasis must be placed on those limitations more closely associated with utilizing bibliometric techniques, which allows us to propose interesting lines of future research

Does Green Intellectual Capital Affect Green Performance? The Mediation of Green Innovation

    Get PDF
Nowadays, wineries have to cope with the many challenges that threaten their survival. In this context, environmental management and the development of intangible assets are two decisive elements for their survival. The following three research questions can be answered through this study: (1) does Green Intellectual Capital (GIC) influence Green Performance (GP)? (2) does Green Innovation (GI) influence the GIC-GP relationship? and (3) what measures can companies take to improve their GI? The results of the study show that there is a positive and significant relationship between GIC and GP, with this relationship being partially measured by the GI variable

Green ambidexterity innovation as the cornerstone of sustainable performance: Evidence from the Spanish wine industry

    Get PDF
This research focuses on analyzing the impact of the Green Ambidexterity Innovation (GAI) on the Sustainable Performance (SP) of Spanish wineries, as well as the antecedent role of the Green Human Capital (GHC) and Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) on the said variables. To achieve the research objective pursued, the study proposes a conceptual model based on previous studies, which is tested using structural equations (PLS-SEM). The research results reveal the existence of a positive and significant relationship between the development of GAI and SP of Spanish wineries, as well as the partial mediation of GAI in the GHC-SP and GSCM-SP linkages. The originality of the study derives from its pioneering nature, as the research enters unexplored terrain by investigating the role of GHC and GSCM as antecedent variables of GAI and SP, there being no previous research, to the authors' knowledge, that has ventured in this direction

Does Ecological Agriculture Moderate the Relationship between Wine Tourism and Economic Performance? A Structural Equation Analysis Applied to the Ribera del Duero Wine Context

    Get PDF
The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of wine tourism activity on economic performance in the wine context of Ribera del Duero (Spain), as well as the mediating effect of ecological agriculture on this link. To this end, a conceptual model is proposed based on the literature review carried out and contrasted through structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) with data from 263 wineries, which in turn represent the population under study. The study results allow for us to empirically demonstrate the positive and significant relationship of wine tourism on performance, as well as the partial mediation of ecological agriculture in this relationship. The study thus contributes to the academic literature in a remarkable way given that, to our knowledge, there are no previous studies that have addressed the mediating role of ecological agriculture in the wine tourism–economic performance link. However, the research also suffers from certain limitations. In particular, given the relevance of the study, it is necessary to broaden its geographical scope so that, as a future line of research, it is proposed to contextualize the model proposed in the California wine industry, being able to subsequently establish similarities and differences in the Old and New World
