Açaí (Euterpe oleracea martius) supplementation improves oxidative stress biomarkers in liver tissue of dams fed a high-fat diet and increases antioxidant enzymes’ gene expression in offspring.
Lipids excess from an uterine environment can increase free radicals production of and thus induce oxidative status imbalance, a key factor for progression of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in offspring. Food antioxidant components in maternal diet may play an important role in preventing offspring metabolic disorders. The objective of the study was to evaluate the effects of açaí pulp supplementation on maternal high-fat diet, by assessing activity and expression of antioxidant enzymes and biomarkers of oxidative stress in the liver. Female Fisher rats were divided into four groups and fed a control diet (C), a high-fat diet (HF), a control diet supplemented with açaí (CA) and a high-fat diet supplemented with açaí (HFA) before mating, during gestation and lactation. The effects of açaí supplementation on oxidative stress biomarkers and antioxidant enzymes expression were evaluated in dams and male offspring after weaning. HFA diet increased body weight in dams, however reduced absolute and relative liver weight. There was a reduction in liver biomarkers of oxidative stress, malondialdehyde and carbonyl protein, as well as in catalase, glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase activity. In offspring, HFA diet reduced liver weight and increased Gpx1, Gpx4 and Sod1 mRNA expression. These results suggest that açaí is able to restore redox status, preventing oxidative damage in dams by a direct mechanism and to promote beneficial effects on expression of antioxidant defences related genes in offspring
POLÍTICAS DE FORMAÇÃO DE PROFESSORES NO BRASIL NUMA PERSPECTIVA DISCURSIVA: UMA ANÁLISE DA RESOLUÇÃO CNE/CP 02/2019
O presente estudo insere-se no campo das políticas de formação docente e objetiva analisar elementos que evidenciam concepções e implicações do atual cenário da formação de professores no Brasil, focando na BNC – Formação. Uma política que não pode ser interpretada isoladamente, uma vez que foi mobilizada a partir de uma conjuntura de outras deliberações que vêm se consolidando através da ausência de diálogo no âmbito da educação. Nesse contexto, apontamos como problemática as concepções de formação docente que são produzidas no contexto da BNC-Formação. Para fundamentação teórica, evidenciamos abordagens pautadas por Frangella (2020); Ball (2016); Dourado (2020); Brasil (2019); Secchi (2010). O percurso metodológico, de caráter qualitativo, foi desenvolvido a partir da análise documental (Resolução CNE/CP 02/2019). Os resultados nos apontam uma concepção de formação docente centrada na instrumentalidade, padronização e prescrição, configurando um processo hegemônico quanto à precarização e perda de autonomia do trabalho docente. Dessa forma, refletir acerca das políticas de formação docente é fundamental para compreendermos os contextos de formulação das referidas políticas, seus fazedores, suas intencionalidades e encenação no contexto escolar. Isso nos possibilita problematizar o campo, articular as discussões e refletir acerca das implicações na prática docente. 
Açaí (Euterpe oleracea Martius) supplementation in the diet during gestation and lactation attenuates liver steatosis in dams and protects offspring.
Purpose: Maternal high-fat diet affects offspring and can induce metabolic disorders such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). New therapeutic strategies are being investigated as way to prevent or attenuate this condition. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of açaí supplementation in the maternal high-fat diet on dams and offspring lipid metabolism. Methods: Female Fisher rats were divided in four groups and fed a control diet (C), a high-fat diet (HF), an açaí supplemented diet (CA) and a high-fat diet supplemented with açaí (HFA) 2 weeks before mating, during gestation and lactation. The effects of açaí were evaluated in the male offspring after birth (P1) and weaning (P21). Results: HFA reduced relative liver weight, fat and cholesterol liver content in dams and improved liver steatosis as confirmed by histological analyses. HFA increased serum cholesterol and expression of Srebpf1 and Fasn genes. In offspring, HFA decreased relative liver weight, and serum cholesterol only in P21. An increase in the Sirt1, Srebpf1 and Fasn genes expression was observed in P21. Conclusions: These results suggest that açaí supplementation may attenuate NAFLD in dams and protect offspring from the detrimental effects of lipid excess from a maternal high-fat diet

The low energy limit of the non-commutative Wess-Zumino model
The non-commutative Wess-Zumino model is used as a prototype for studying the
low energy behaviour of a renormalizable non-commutative field theory. We start
by deriving the potential mediating the fermion-fermion and boson-boson
interactions in the non-relativistic regime. The quantum counterparts of these
potentials are afflicted by irdering ambiguities but we show that there exists
an ordering prescription which makes them hermitean. For space/space
noncommutativity it turns out that Majorana fermions may be pictured as rods
oriented perpendicularly to the direction of motion showing a lack of
localituy, while bosons remain insensitive to the effects of noncommutativity.
For time/space noncommutativity bosopns and fermions can be regarded as rods
oriented along the direction of motion. For both cases of noncommutativity the
scattering state described scattered waves, with at least one wave having
negative time delay signalizing the underlying nonlocality. The superfield
formulation of the model is used to compute the corresponding effective action
in the one- and two-loop approximations. In the case of time/space
noncommutativity, unitarity is violated in the relativistic regime. However,

Chemical Composition and In Vitro Cytotoxic and Antimicrobial Activities of the Essential Oil from Leaves of Zanthoxylum monogynum St. Hill (Rutaceae).
Background: The Zanthoxylum monogynum species belongs to the family Rutaceae and is found in Southeast, Midwest, and Northeast Brazil. For this genus several biological activities have been described. Methods: The essential oil (EO) was obtained from the leaves of Zanthoxylum monogynum by hydro-distillation and was analyzed by gas chromatograph and gas chromatograph/mass spectrometry (GC and GC/MS). Also the EO of Z. monogynum was evaluated for in vitro cytotoxic activity against six tumor cell lines and for antimicrobial activity, performing disk diffusion and MIC assays with yeast and bacterial strains. Results: The chemical analysis afforded the identification of 18 components (99.0% of the EO). The major components were found to be citronellol (43.0%) and farnesol (32.0%). The in vitro cytotoxic activity against tumor cell lines, resulted in IC50 values ranging from 11-65 µg/mL against all tested cell lines. Antimicrobial activity of the essential oil was also tested and oil was effective, especially against Cryptococcus sp. yeast. All the tested yeast strains showed at least 90% growth inhibition. Conclusions: the essential oil from leaves of Z. monogynum has a different qualitative and quantitative composition when compared to the composition previously described. Also this EO has significant cytotoxic activity and moderate activity against Cryptococcus sp. and Saccharomyces cereviseae yeasts
Immunotherapy for liver tumors: present status and future prospects
Increasing evidence suggests that immune responses are involved in the control of cancer and that the immune system can be manipulated in different ways to recognize and attack tumors. Progress in immune-based strategies has opened new therapeutic avenues using a number of techniques destined to eliminate malignant cells. In the present review, we overview current knowledge on the importance, successes and difficulties of immunotherapy in liver tumors, including preclinical data available in animal models and information from clinical trials carried out during the lasts years. This review shows that new options for the treatment of advanced liver tumors are urgently needed and that there is a ground for future advances in the field
Batch removal of manganese from acid mine drainage using bone char.
The present study investigated batch kinetics and the batch equilibrium of manganese removal from acid mine drainage (AMD) using bone char as an adsorbent. Equilibrium tests revealed that the Langmuir-based maximum manganese uptake capacity was 22 mg g-1 for AMD effluents and 20 mg g-1 for laboratory solutions at a pH ranging from 5.5 to 5.7. The pseudo-second order model best described the manganese kinetics within bone char. Manganese removal was mainly influenced by the operating variables of the solid/liquid ratio and the pH of the aqueous phase. In fact, metal uptake was favored at nearly neutral pH values. The effect of particle size and temperature proved to be insignificant for the investigated operating range. This work also evaluated the mechanism for manganese removal using bone char. Results showed that intraparticle diffusion is the main rate-limiting step; however, additional contributions from boundary layer diffusion may well affect this removal when particles of smaller sizes are used. The final concentration of fluoride and other metals present in the AMD effluent was in agreement with the concentration limit set forth by Brazilian legislation. The present study demonstrated that bone char is a suitable material to be used for the removal of manganese from AMD effluents
Thermal diffusivity of a SNAB glass system doped with CdS nanocrystals and Nd3+
This work reports on the thermal diffusivity of the SiO2-Na2CO3-B2O3-Al2O3 (SNAB) glass system doped with semiconductor nanocrystals of CdS and Nd3+ ions. Thermal diffusivity (D) was obtained by the Thermal Lens technique. It is shown that D decreases up to 30% when SNAB is doped with CdS nanocrystals. The effect is discussed in terms of heat transport by phonons as well as interface and surface scattering.CAPESFAPEMIGCNP
