    Procena uticaja bakterijske i mineralne fertilizacije na hemijski sastav i prinos zelene biomase kukuruza

    The purpose of the study was to evaluate the influence of an application of different rates of composite mineral fertilizers and their combination with bacterial inoculants (N-fixing Klebsiella planticola and Enterobacter spp.) on chemical composition and yield of the maize green biomass (without spikes) on acid Eutric Cambisol during the two growing seasons: 2006 and 2008. Unfertilized soil was used as a control. The contents of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and crude proteins in biomass samples were determined three times during the maize vegetation season, as follows: stage of intensive growth, milk-waxy maturity stage and full maturity stage. Measuring of the green biomass yield was carried out at the end of the vegetation. The results of the study showed that the use of high rates of composite mineral fertilizers and their combination with bacterial inoculants resulted in increased contents of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and crude proteins in the maize biomass during the both study years, which was noticeably observed in the stage of intensive growth. The highest increase in the biomass yield was obtained by the same mentioned treatments, although the combination of bacterial inoculants and lower rates of mineral fertilizers resulted in higher yields comparing to the application of lower rates of the pure mineral nutrients. The data suggest that the studied bacterial inoculants can be used in further investigations as the potential agents of new biofertilizers for improved maize production and other agriculture crops in animal nutrition.Cilj ovog istraživanja je bio da se proceni uticaj primene različitih doza kompleksnih mineralnih đubriva i njihovih kombinacija sa bakterijskim inokulantima (azotofiksirajuće bakterije Klebsiella planticola i Enterobacter spp.) na hemijski sastav i prinos zelene biomase kukuruza na kiselom eutričnom kambisolu tokom dve vegetacione sezone: 2006 i 2008. Neđubreno zemljište je služilo kao kontrola. Sadržaj azota, fosfora, kalijuma i sirovih proteina u uzorcima biomase su određivani tri puta tokom vegetativne sezone kukuruze, i to: u fazi intenzivnog porasta, fazi mlečno-voštane zrelosti i fazi pune zrelosti. Merenje prinosa zelene biomase obavljeno je krajem vegetacije. Rezultati istraživanja su pokazali da je primena visokih doza kompleksnih mineralnih đubriva i njihova kombinacija sa bakterijskim inokulantima uticala na povećanje sadržaja azota, fosfora, kalijuma i sirovih proteina u biomasi kukuruza tokom obe godine istraživanja, što je naročito izraženo u fazi njegovog intenzivnog porasta. Najveći porast prinosa biomase je dobijen na istim navedenim varijantama, a isto tako je i primena kombinacije bakterijskih inokulanata i manjih doza mineralnih đubriva rezultirala većim prinosima u odnosu na primenu manjih doza čistih mineralnih hraniva. Dobijeni podaci ukazuju da se ispitivani bakterijski inokulanti mogu koristiti u daljim istraživanjima kao potencijalni agenti novih biofertilizatora u cilju poboljšanja proizvodnje kukuruza i drugih poljoprivrednih kultura u ishrani životinja

    The application of hydrogen-palladium electrode for potentiometric acid-base determinations in tetrahydrofuran

    The application of the hydrogen-palladium electrode (H2/Pd) as an indicator electrode for the determination of the relative acidity scale (Es, mV) of tetrahydrofuran (THF) and potentiometric titrations of acids in this solvent were investigated. The relative acidity scale of THF was determined from the difference between the half-neutralization potentials of perchloric acid and tetrabutylammonium hydroxide (TBAH), which were measured using both H2/Pd-SCE and glass-SCE electrode pairs. The experimentally obtained value of the Es scale of THF with the H2/Pd-SCE electrode pair was 1155 mV, while that obtained with the glass-SCE electrode pair was 880 mV. By using an H2/Pd indicator electrode, the individual acids (benzoic acid, palmitic acid, maleic acid, acetyl acetone and α-naphthol) and two component acid mixtures (benzoic acid + α-naphthol, palmitic acid + α-naphthol, maleic acid + α-naphthol and maleic acid + phthalic acid) were titrated with a standard solution of TBAH. In addition, sodium methylate and potassium hydroxide proved to be very suitable titrating agents for the titrations of the individual acids and the acids in mixtures, respectively. The relative error of the determination of acids in the mixtures was less than 3 %. The results are in agreement with those obtained using a conventional glass electrode. The advantages of the H2/Pd electrode over a glass electrode in the potentiometric acid-base determinations in THF lie in the following: this electrode gives a wider relative acidity scale for THF, larger potential jumps at the titration end-point and relatively fast response times.     PERMANENT AND SOWN GRASSLANDS IN SERBIA: CURRENT STATE AND TRENDS

    Number of cattle in Serbia during two decades of the 21st century shows the tendency of decreasing. The main source for sustainable livestock production in Serbia are grasslands. Permanent grasslands occupy approximately 30% of agricultural land in Serbia, thereby playing an important role in forage production and ecosystem services. The majority of natural meadows and pastures are located in hilly-mountainous regions. The general characteristics of grasslands in the central Balkans are low production and insufficient quality. The yield of permanent grasslands in Serbia is influenced very strongly by climatic conditions, type of grassland and level of organic and mineral fertilization. On areas that are not managed by mowing and fertilizing, forbs make up over half of the plant production.This paper presents some recent experiences and results in livestock feed production obtained from permanent and sown meadows and pastures in Serbia. There is survey of permanent grassland botanical composition and productivity with special emphasis on importance of preserving legume species. Also, recent trials assessed the benefits of mineral and organic fertilizers application in terms of forage production, testing whether the mineral or organic sources improves the stability of the grassland and evaluated response patterns over a large environmental gradient. Nutrient availability in permanent grasslands has a strong influence on plant species biodiversity, plant cover, and species’ dominance in the vegetation canopy. Dry matter yield is very low with high variation in crude protein content, which confirms that grasslands need to be maintained through fertilizer application, with special emphasis being given to the new role of manure enriched by zeolite. The above-stated lead to poor production potential of these grasslands for livestock production, nonetheless offering sustainable means of soil and biodiversity protection in the area

    Response of Italian ryegrass seed crop to spring nitrogen application in the first harvest year

    Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) cv. Tetraflorum was sown with different nitrogen application rates and it was tested under the agroecological conditions of Western Serbia. Four-year field experiments were carried out from 2002 to 2006 and the biometric characteristics of generative tillers, seed yield and shoot dry matter (herbage yield) were measured during the first production year. Italian ryegrass crop was established with four spring nitrogen application rates: 0, 50, 100 and 150 kg ha-1. Tiller length was not affected by nitrogen application, while two other tiller parameters were much more affected by the treatments. The maximum seed yield in the first production year varied among treatments depending on season conditions. Harvest characteristics were impacted by nitrogen application; however, there was an opposite impact in arid and humid weather conditions. The N application of 50 kg ha-1 was found to be the optimal for seed production in those conditions. Higher rates of N application (100 to 150 kg ha-1) had either no impact on seed yield, or decreased the yield of seed as a result of ryegrass lodging following seed shedding. Abundant shoot dry matter was obtained in some treatment variants, but there was no linear correlation between seed yield and yield components.Key words: Harvest characteristics, Italian ryegrass, nitrogen application, seed yield

    Comparison of 35 and 50 {\mu}m thin HPK UFSD after neutron irradiation up to 6*10^15 neq/cm^2

    We report results from the testing of 35 {\mu}m thick Ultra-Fast Silicon Detectors (UFSD produced by Hamamatsu Photonics (HPK), Japan and the comparison of these new results to data reported before on 50 {\mu}m thick UFSD produced by HPK. The 35 {\mu}m thick sensors were irradiated with neutrons to fluences of 0, 1*10^14, 1*10^15, 3*10^15, 6*10^15 neq/cm^2. The sensors were tested pre-irradiation and post-irradiation with minimum ionizing particles (MIPs) from a 90Sr \b{eta}-source. The leakage current, capacitance, internal gain and the timing resolution were measured as a function of bias voltage at -20C and -27C. The timing resolution was extracted from the time difference with a second calibrated UFSD in coincidence, using the constant fraction method for both.     Fusarium infekcija i deoksinivalenol kontaminacija ozime pšenice

    In this paper, the incidence of Fusarium-infected grain of winter wheat and the content of mycotoxin deoxynivalenol (DON) was studied in two Serbian cultivars Simonida and NS40S, both harvested in 2014. The level of Fusarium contamination of wheat grain was determined using phytopathological techniques based on the standard methodology while DON was detected by enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assay (ELISA). The incidence of Fusarium-infected grain ranged from 12 to 19% for Simonida and NS40S, respectively. Fusarium graminearum, as well-known producer of DON mycotoxin, was identified among Fusarium species. In addition, Alternaria spp. was isolated in high percentage, with an average incidence of 53% (Simonida) to 63% (NS40S).The average content of DON ranged from 424 μg kg-1 to 1101 μg kg-1 for Simonida and NS40S cultivars, respectively. Statistically insignificant negative correlation (r = - 0.18) was determined between Fusariuminfected grain and DON in the cultivar Simonida and statistically insignificant positive correlation (r = 0.11) in the cultivar NS40S. The mean levels of DON in studied wheat samples of both tested cultivars were not higher than the maximum permitted limit (1250 μg kg-1) although the level of Fusarium-infected grain of both cultivars was relatively high. These results indicate that both wheat cultivars are susceptible to Fusarium infection and DON mycotoxin production in agro-ecological conditions of Serbia, but the cultivar NS40S being more susceptible compared to cultivar Simonida. In view of all stated above, regular health check of grains and developing strategies for integrated monitoring of incidence of Fusarium head blight are necessary preventive measures in protection of winter wheat.U radu je proučavana incidenca Fusarium-zaraženih zrna ozime pšenice iz žetve 2014. godine kod dve domaće komercijalne sorte Simonida i NS40S, kao i sadržaj mikotoksina deoksinivalenola (DON). Nivo fuzariozne kontaminacije zrna pšenice određen je primenom fitopatoloških testova standardne metodologije a DON je detektovan primenom imunoadsorpcione enzimske metode (ELISA). Incidenca Fusarium-zaraženih zrna bila je u proseku za sve ispitivane uzorke od 12% (Simonida) do 19% (NS40S). Od Fusarium vrsta identifikovana je jedino Fusarium graminearum, kao dobro poznati producent DON mikotoksina. Pored ove gljivične vrste, u visokom procentu izolovana je Alternaria spp. sa prosečnom incidencom od 53% (Simonida) do 63% (NS40S). U ispitivanim uzorcima pšenice prosečan sadržaj DON bio je od 424 μg kg-1 (Simonida) do 1101 μg kg-1 (NS40S). Između Fusarium-zaraženih zrna i DON utvrđena je statistički neznačajna negativna korelacija (r = - 0.18) kod sorte Simonida i statistički neznačajna pozitivna korelacija (r = 0.11) kod sorte NS40S. Prosečne koncentracije DON u ispitivanim uzorcima pšenice kod obe ispitivane sorte nisu bile iznad maksimalno dozvoljenog limita iako je nivo fuzariozne kontaminacije zrna obe ispitivane sorte bio visok. Ovi rezultati ukazuju da su obe ispitivane sorte pšenice osetljive prema fuzarioznoj infekciji i produkciji DON mikotoksina u agroekološkim uslovima Srbije, s tim što je sorta NS40S osetljivija u odnosu na sortu Simonida. Zbog svega navedenog, redovna zdravstvena kontrola zrna i razvijanje strategije integralnog monitoringa fuzarioze klasa neophodne su preventivne mere borbe u zaštiti pšenice

    The effect of sires on daily gain and fat thickness

    The production characteristics of fatteners in this paper were examined in two farms of pigs in the Republic of Serbia. The research included 1166 pigs of both genders (female animals and male castrated heads) with various genotypes. Research examined influence of sire breed, sire within sire breed, gender of the pigs and the mass at the end of the fattening on the following characteristics of the fatteners: Daily gain of the warm carcass side mass (PTP), rump fat thickness (DSK), backfat thickness (DSL) and sum of the fat thickness rump+back (DSKL). The pigs in this research come from the following sires: Large White (LW), Swedish Landrace (SL), Duroc and Crossbreed H × D. Data processing was done using the Harvey computer program. It was determined that all the involved effects in the model show a different level of influence on the researched traits (P lt 0.05; P lt 0.01; P lt 0.001), whereas only one factor, sire within sire breed H ×. D does not influence the expression of the characteristic gain of the warm carcass side mass (P > 0.05)

    Efekat folijarne ishrane na prinos zrna soje

    The aim of this investigation was to estimate the effects of foliar fertilization on quantitative traits (plant height, first pod height, number of nodes per plant, number of pods per plant, number of grain per plant, grain yield per plant, 1000-grain weight and grain yield) in two soybean cultivars (Balkan and Bečejka). Studied cultivars belong to different maturity groups (Balkan - I and Bečejka - 0). Four treatments of fertilization were tested: control (no fertilization), Urea (46 kg N ha-1), Urea (46 kg N ha-1) + Wuxal super (5 l ha-1) and Urea (46 kg N ha-1) + Ferticare I (5 kg ha-1). Wuxal super and Ferticare I were foliar applied two times at the R2-R3 growth stage. The field experiments were carried out in dry land farming in the region of Vojvodina province at location Putinci (45° 00' N Lat., 19° 58' E Long.), during the years 2007 and 2008. In both research years, Balkan had higher values for all investigated traits than Bečejka. Results showed that foliar fertilizers significantly increased the values for all quantitative traits. Ferticare I is more effective than Wuxal super in soybean because this fertilizer has higher concentration of macronutrients. Foliar fertilization of soybean reduced the negative impact of small amounts of rainfall during the summer months on grain yield.Cilj istraživanja je bio da se oceni efekat folijarne ishrane na kvantitativne osobine (visina biljke, visine prve mahune, broj nodusa po biljci, broj mahuna po biljci, broj zrna po biljci, prinos zrna po biljci, masa 1000 zrna i prinos zrna) dve sorte soje (Balkan i Bečejka). Ispitivane sorte pripadaju različitim grupama zrenja (Balkan - I, Bečejka - 0). Upoređivane su četiri tretmana ishrane biljaka: kontrola, Urea (46 kg N ha-1), Urea (46 kg N ha-1) + Wuxal super (5 l ha-1) i Urea (100 kg ha- 1) + Ferticare I (5 kg ha-1). Wuxal super i Ferticare I primenjeni su folijarno u R2- R3 fazi rastenja i razvića soje. Ogledi su izvedeni u suvom ratarenju u Vojvodini na lokaciji Putinci (45° 00' SGŠ, 19° 58' IGD) tokom 2007. i 2008. godine. U obe godine istraživanja sorta Balkan je imala veće vrednosti za sve ispitivane osobine nego Bečejka. Rezultati su pokazali da je folijarna ishrana značajno povećala vrednosti svih ispitivanih kvantitativnih osobina. Viši prinosi postignuti su primenom Ferticare I nego primenom Wuxal super jer sadrži veću koncentraciju makroelemenata. Folijarno prihranjivanje soje umanjilo je negativan uticaj malih količina padavina tokom letnjih meseci na prinos zrna

    Gain and time resolution of 45 μ\mum thin Low Gain Avalanche Detectors before and after irradiation up to a fluence of 101510^{15} neq_{eq}/cm2^2

    Low Gain Avalanche Detectors (LGADs) are silicon sensors with a built-in charge multiplication layer providing a gain of typically 10 to 50. Due to the combination of high signal-to-noise ratio and short rise time, thin LGADs provide good time resolutions. LGADs with an active thickness of about 45 μ\mum were produced at CNM Barcelona. Their gains and time resolutions were studied in beam tests for two different multiplication layer implantation doses, as well as before and after irradiation with neutrons up to 101510^{15} neq_{eq}/cm2^2. The gain showed the expected decrease at a fixed voltage for a lower initial implantation dose, as well as for a higher fluence due to effective acceptor removal in the multiplication layer. Time resolutions below 30 ps were obtained at the highest applied voltages for both implantation doses before irradiation. Also after an intermediate fluence of 3×10143\times10^{14} neq_{eq}/cm2^2, similar values were measured since a higher applicable reverse bias voltage could recover most of the pre-irradiation gain. At 101510^{15} neq_{eq}/cm2^2, the time resolution at the maximum applicable voltage of 620 V during the beam test was measured to be 57 ps since the voltage stability was not good enough to compensate for the gain layer loss. The time resolutions were found to follow approximately a universal function of gain for all implantation doses and fluences.Comment: 17 page
