Improving the Voltage Stability and Performance of FACTS Controller in Transmission Line Network

Conventionally Shunt Compensation is used to increase the transfer capability of a transmission line. By using FACT'S controllers one can manage the variables such as voltage magnitude and phase angle at selected bus and line impedance. Objective of this paper is to recover dynamic voltage control and consequently increasing system load ability for 50 Hz Frequency. Now a day, five well known FACT'S devices generally used for this purpose. These FACT'S devices are (SVC) Static VAR Compensator, (TCSC) Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor, (STATCOM) Static Synchronous Compensator, and (UPFC) Unified Power Flow Controller and (SSSC) Static Synchronous Series Compensator. The voltage drop occurs when a system is loaded beyond its highest load ability point, then many investigation methods have been projected for the study of this difficulty. Mainly of These techniques are based on the classification of system stability. These stable points are typically referred as points of voltage collapse. This paper present modeling and simulation of STATCOM & SVC in Matlab Simulink for dynamic voltage performance of transmission line network

Background: There has been a rising incidence of pregnancy complicated by heart disease in India. The importance of heart disease in pregnancy lies in its high morbidity and mortality in both maternal and fetal outcomes combined with lack of enough established guidelines in its management. Methods: A study was done in department of obstetrics and gynaecology, KEM hospital, Mumbai from January 2016 to April 2017 retro prospectively studying the different manifestations of heart disease in pregnancy and the maternal and fetal outcomes. Results: During the study period, there were 6500 deliveries in the study center and of them 135 presented with heart disease. Of the 135 cases observed, 100 cases came under the inclusion criteria and were included in the study. The incidence of heart disease in pregnancy in the current institute is 2%. In the 100 cases, 55% were seen to have Rheumatic heart disease, 32% with cyanotic and acyanotic congenital heart disease and 13% with other conditions such as peripartum cardiomyopathy and mitral valve prolapse. Maternal outcome shows 44 patients delivered vaginally, 21 by assisted vaginal delivery and 35 required caesarean section. Maternal adverse cardiac events comprised of heart failure seen in 11 cases, ICU admissions required in 14 patients and maternal mortality in one case. Neonatal outcome comprised of 31 preterm births, still births 2, low birth weight seen in 41 and 16 needing NICU admissions. Conclusions: Early diagnosis and prompt management with a multidisciplinary approach is fundamental in managing a case of heart disease in pregnancy

A Neighbor Coverage-Based Probabilistic Rebroadcast for Reducing Routing Overhead in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using Cluster Scheme

    Get PDF
Due to high mobility of nodes in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), there exist frequent link breakages which lead to frequent path failures and route discoveries. The overhead of a route discovery cannot be neglected. In a route discovery, broadcasting is a fundamental and effective data dissemination mechanism, where a mobile node blindly rebroadcasts the first received route request packets unless it has a route to the destination, and thus it causes the broadcast storm problem. In this paper, we propose a neighbor coverage-based probabilistic rebroadcast protocol for reducing routing overhead in MANETs. In order to effectively exploit the neighbor coverage knowledge, we propose a novel rebroadcast delay to determine the rebroadcast order, and then we can obtain the more accurate additional coverage ratio by sensing neighbor coverage knowledge. We also define a connectivity factor to provide the node density adaptation. By combining the additional coverage ratio and connectivity factor, we set a reasonable rebroadcast probability. Our approach combines the advantages of the neighbor coverage knowledge and the probabilistic mechanism, which can significantly decrease the number of retransmissions so as to reduce the routing overhead, and can also improve the routing performance

    Get PDF
A RP-HPLC method has been developed and validated for the estimation of telmisartan in bulk and pharmaceutical dosage form. A RP-HPLC isocratic separation was achieved on C18 column (250.6 mm i.d., 5m) utilizing a mobile phase comprising of methanol and acetonitrile in the ratio of 90: 10(v/v) and the eluents from the column were detected using a variable wavelength detector at 237nm. The proposed method has permitted the quantification of telmisartan in the linearity range of 20-100g/ml and the flow rate was maintained at 1ml/min. The column was maintained at ambient temperature and the complete separation was achieved for telmisartan in an overall analytical run time of approximately 10 minutes. The retention time of telmisartan was found to be 3.3 minutes. The limit of detection and limit of quantification were found to be 2.82 and 8.54 ?g/ml, respectively. The percentage recovery was found to be in between 87.3 to 103.18%. The method was found to be suitable for the routine quality control analysis of telmisartan in bulk drug and formulation. The method was validated as per ICH guidelines

Rapid precorneal elimination of drug is a major limitation of conventional ophthalmic formulations. An ion activated in situ gel forming systems of an antibacterial agent moxifloxacin hydrochloride for instillation as drops into eye undergoing a sol to gel transition in the cul-de-sac was formulated. Sodium alginate was used as the gelling agent in combination with hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose. Formulations were evaluated for gelling capacity, pH, in vitro release, rheological study, Draize eye irritation test and storage stability. Systems exhibited pseudoplastic rheology, evidenced by shear thinning with increase in shear stress and increased angular velocity. The in vitro release rate of moxifloxacin hydrochloride from gel decreased as an inverse function of polymer concentration. The optimized products were stable and non irritant. Equal amounts of sodium alginate and hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose exhibit encouraging rheological properties with therapeutically effective and non-irritant product. This in situ gel system can be a viable alternative to conventional eye drops.Colegio de Farmacéuticos de la Provincia de Buenos Aire
