Minimal weak upper gradients in Newtonian spaces based on quasi-Banach function lattices

Properties of first-order Sobolev-type spaces on abstract metric measure spaces, so-called Newtonian spaces, based on quasi-Banach function lattices are investigated. The set of all weak upper gradients of a Newtonian function is of particular interest. Existence of minimal weak upper gradients in this general setting is proven and corresponding representation formulae are given. Furthermore, the connection between pointwise convergence of a sequence of Newtonian functions and its convergence in norm is studied

Teaching of Medical Students within the Provision of Medical Care in the Itibo Mission Hospital in Kenya: Adra Czech Republic / Kenya Development Co-operation Project

The aim of this article is to describe the preparation of students who go to the Itibo development co-operation project. This includes how clinical practice and medical ethics are taught as part of participating in this project in Kenya. We will try to explain the possible benefits for students and the importance of understanding multiculturalism in the provision of medical care

The Role of Educational Programmes and Their Effect on Self-Education: An Example from Practice in the Context of Encountering Different Cultural Influences

The role of educational programmes and their influence on personal development (self-education) is indisputable. The aim of this article is to reflect on my personal experiences from a summer school completed in July 2023 at Oxford University. Using a very specific example, I try to explain the motivations that led me to attend the summer school and the possible practical effects in my professional and personal life. Numerous discussions and debates with colleagues from very different cultural backgrounds were very beneficial during my stay in Oxford. As part of these debates, reflection of practice, sharing of experiences, but also guided activities within the educational programme, I will try to describe several areas in which I observe contribution and benefit. Finally, I will use a practical example (essay) to show how the discussions in this course influenced me in thinking about problems and stimuli in my professional life while working on a development co-operation project in Kenya

Wheelchair control using EEG signal classification

Tato diplomová práce představuje koncept elektrického invalidního vozíku ovládaného lidskou myslí. Tento koncept je určen pro osoby, které elektrický invalidní vozík nemohou ovládat klasickými způsoby, jakým je například joystick. V práci jsou popsány čtyři hlavní komponenty konceptu: elektroencefalograf, brain-computer interface (rozhraní mozek-počítač), systém sdílené kontroly a samotný elektrický invalidní vozík. V textu je představena použitá metodologie a výsledky provedených experimentů. V závěru jsou nastíněna doporučení pro budoucí vývoj.This diploma thesis presents the concept of mind-controlled electric wheelchair designed for people who are not able to use other interfaces such as hand joystick. Four main components of concept are described: electroencephalography, brain-computer interface, shared control and the electric wheelchair. In the text used methodology is described and results of conducted experiments are presented. In conclusion suggestions for future development are outlined.

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá rozborem fyzikálních a konstrukčních principů funkce opticko-kouřových hlásičů požáru. V úvodní části tato práce popisuje historický vývoj a potřebu automatické požární detekce s různými druhy již existujících možností detekce. Dále je zde rozebrána problematika falešných poplachů a možnosti jejich eliminace. V závěrečné části této práce je popsáno sestrojení měřícího zařízení a výběr jeho komponentů pro uskutečnění experimentu, který se zabývá vlivem vlnové délky použitého světelného paprsku a úhlové závislosti mezi zdrojem a přijímačem rozptýleného světla uvnitř opticko-kouřových hlásičů požárů fungujících na principu rozptylu světelného paprsku.This master thesis deals with the analysis of physical and design principles of the function of optical smoke detectors. In the introductory part, the historical development and the need for automatic fire detection with various types of already existing detection options are described. Furthermore, the issue of false alarms and the possibility of their elimination is discussed. The final part of this work describes the construction of a measuring device and the selection of its components for carrying out an experiment, which deals with the effect of wavelength of a light beam and angular dependence between source and the scattered light receiver inside optical smoke detectors operating on light scattering.030 - Katedra požární ochranydobř

In metric spaces, we can replace distributional gra- dients, whose de nition depends on the linear structure of Rn , by upper gradients that control the functions' behavior along all recti able curves. is gives rise to the so-called Newtonian spaces. e summability condition, considered in the thesis, is expressed using a general Banach function lattice quasi-norm and so an extensive framework is built. Sobolev-type spaces (mainly based on the Lp norm) on metric spaces, and Newtonian spaces in particular, have been under intensive study since the mid- s. Standard toolbox for the theory is set up in this general setting and Newto- nian spaces are proven complete. Financial Plan and Economic Evaluation of Investment Realized by Private Investor

V teoretické části se zaměřuji na vystižené podstaty klíčových částí podnikatelského plánu, zejména pak na finanční plán a zhodnocení efektivnosti investic. V praktické části jsem vypracoval podnikatelský plán na projekt AZ Tower v Brně. Zaměřil jsem se zejména na vypracování finančního plánu, s tím spojenou ekonomickou analýzu a na závěr jsem se věnoval zhodnocení investovaného kapitálu.The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on key parts of the business plan, especially the financial plan and evaluation of effectiveness of investments. In the practical part, I developed a business plan for the project AZ Tower in Brno. I focused mainly on the development of the financial plan with the associated economic analysis and in the end I focused on appreciation of capital invested.
