The objective of this study is to explore the leader’s Emotional Intelligence (Goleman, 2004) influence team leadership (Morgeson et al., 2010) in order to achieve better Team Effectiveness (Kozlowski & Bell, 2003). The relationship between these three variables has not been identified in the past, which is the reason this study has been conducted. A survey has been created based on validated scales and was distributed to teams. After an extensive literature review, four hypotheses about these relationships have been created and were all supported after the statistical analysis. This study confirms the link between Emotional Intelligence, Leadership and Team Effectiveness. Our findings show that Emotional Intelligence leads to better Team Effectiveness through Leadership Support the Social Climate function. It also shows a higher level of Emotional Intelligence in Women Leaders compared to Men Leaders. Taking into consideration these results, companies should start paying more attention to Emotional Intelligence values of the candidates during the hiring and promotion processes, in order to achieve higher overall organizational succes.O objetivo desta dissertação Ă© o estudo da influĂȘncia da InteligĂȘncia Emocional (Goleman, 2004) na função de Suporte de um lĂder (Morgeson et al., 2010), de forma a conseguir uma melhor EficĂĄcia da Equipa (Kozlowski & Bell, 2003).

Context: Urinary incontinence is an important multifactorial health problem that affects women's life quality negatively and is related significantly to age, education, occupation, marital status, and body mass index.Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness of nursing guidelines on marital outcomes of women with urinary incontinence. Methods: Quasi-experimental (pre/posttest, study/control) design was used. The study was conducted at the urogynecology unit at Ain Shams Maternity University Hospital on a purposive sample of 76 women attending the setting mentioned above. Sample inclusion criteria were women age <40 years, married, diagnosed with urinary tract infection, and free from chronic disease. The study tool included a structured interview questionnaire, Kings’ health questionnaire, women practice checklist. Results: Findings of the present study showed that 43.4% of the women were housewives, 27.6% completed preparatory school education. There were highly statistically significant differences between study and control groups regarding physical, social, sexual, and psychological dimensions of King's health outcomes post and followed up of guidelines implementation when the p-value was <0.001. The practice of the study group improved significantly than controls. Conclusion: The study revealed improvement in the total health outcomes and health practice among the study group compared to the controls with an increase in the total practice with the decrease in total health problems of king health, especially sexual problems. Recommendations: Performing training programs for improving women's awareness about urinary incontinence and sexual life. Replication of the study on a larger probability sample for generalizing the findings and studying the factors affecting women's utilization of urodynamic services

Thyroid disorders are commonly associated with coagulopathy. Patients with hyperthyroidism have increased risk for developing thromboembolic accidents, which are favoured by a simultaneous presence of antiphospholipid antibodies syndrome. in this paper, we describe the case of a patient with Graves' disease, who developed strokes with antiphospholipid antibodies syndrome

Sarcomas of the testis are extremely rare tumors, their incidence being difficult to assess accurately. The authors report a case of a 21-year-old male, presented with painless scrotal swelling that increased in size insidiously within three months. The examination revealed a 10 cm right testicular swelling—hard, not tender and oval in shape. Testicular ultrasound revealed right heterogenous testicular mass. Tumor markers (Human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG) and alpha fetoprotein) were normal. CT chest and abdomen were normal. Radical orchidectomy was done through an inguinal approach. Histopathology showed testicular fibrosarcoma with spindle cells. After one month, the patient noticed reappearance of a swelling in the right hemiscrotum. Right inguinal exploration with massive resection of the recurrent scrotal mass was done. Histopathology revealed inflammatory process dominated by stitch granuloma. In conclusion, the recurrence rate of testicular sarcomas is high following radical orchidectomy, but still there was a place of non-malignant massthat looks like recurrence; it might occur like nonspecific inflammatory mass and stich granuloma

The progression of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic in Africa has so far been heterogeneous, and the full impact is not yet well understood. In this study, we describe the genomic epidemiology using a dataset of 8746 genomes from 33 African countries and two overseas territories. We show that the epidemics in most countries were initiated by importations predominantly from Europe, which diminished after the early introduction of international travel restrictions. As the pandemic progressed, ongoing transmission in many countries and increasing mobility led to the emergence and spread within the continent of many variants of concern and interest, such as B.1.351, B.1.525, A.23.1, and C.1.1. Although distorted by low sampling numbers and blind spots, the findings highlight that Africa must not be left behind in the global pandemic response, otherwise it could become a source for new variants

Background: The Mediterranean diet (MedDiet) is a dietary pattern effective in terms of prevention of many diseases such as gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Recently, many studies have paid attention to nutritional factors during pregnancy as a modifiable contributor to GDM risk. Objective: to investigate associations of nutrients intakes and MedDiet pattern of eating with risk of GDM. Subjects/Methods: This study conducted on N = 120; Pregnant women with GDM (n = 60) and without controls (n = 60). The dietary habits were assessed by a dietary history method and a validated food frequency questionnaire. We calculated a MedDiet score which measures the degree of adherence to a Med Diet. Result: A low Med Diet score was found in pregnant women with and without gestational diabetes in 46.7% and 38.8% of cases, respectively, with no significant difference. Our data showed that the higher the adherence score to the MedDiet, the lower the fasting blood glucose level and the plasma glucose 2 h post load. These findings concerned the two groups studied (P < 10−3). We also noted that controls had a significantly higher intake of legumes, vegetables and fish. Monounsaturated fatty acids and saturated fatty acids consumption was significantly higher in the control group (2.3 ± 0.8 vs 1.7 ± 0.7, P < 10−3). GDM subjects consumed significantly more dairy products and cereals (P < 10−3). After adjustment for confounders, no nutrient was associated with the risk of developing gestational diabetes except vitamin D intake (OR 0.29 [0.15−0.54], P < 10−3) which had a protective effect. Conclusion: Our study underlines the importance of adequate vitamin D intake during pregnancy and suggests that the MedDiet may reduce the incidence of gestational diabetes

Water quality preservation represents one of the biggest challenges the world is facing nowadays. In Morocco, water quality decline is among the significant problems facing the country’s water sector. Geographic Information System (GIS) is an effective and useful tool for interpreting, evaluating and displaying spatial data for water resources management. In order to assess the Physico-chemical characteristics of groundwater of the Sahel-Doukkala aquifers, water samples were collected from 50 points well distributed in the study area, analysed according to standard methods, and the results were interpreted using the geographic information system (GIS) technique. There was an important spatial variability in the studied parameters and element concentrations (T°, pH, EC, Cl-, Ca2+, Mg2+, Sr, B and Na+), revealing that the aquifers lithology, sea intrusion and the agriculture methods are the main factors influencing the water nature in the study area
