Use of classification and regression tree (cart) for chronic periodontitis classification in dental hospital of Hang Tuah University Surabaya

Classification and Regression Tree (CART) is now commonly used as one of nonparametricclassification methods. The advantage of this method is it can effectively used on data whichhave many independent variables. It is also easy to be interoperated.The aim of this research is to classify Chronic Perodontitis in Dental Hospital of Hang TuahUniversity Surabaya using CART. The Chronic Periodontitis divided into 3 categories: mild,moderate, and heavy. Based on the analysis result, 2 factors can affected the mild type ofchronic periodontitis , 6 factors affected moderate type of chronic periodontitis and 8 factorsaffected the heavy type of chronic periodontitis.The criteria used to count the accuracy of the CART classification is 1-APER. The 1-APERscore shows a very good result which is 92,5% for data learning and 90% for data testing

Dental and oral health education in parents of taam avicenna playgroup students

Oral and dental health education aims to increase knowledge that leads to better dental and oral health behaviors. Parents play an important role in children's behavior to maintain dental and oral health. Lack of behavior to maintain healthy teeth can be caused by low knowledge of dental and oral health. This activity aim to provide dental and oral health education to parents of students in Taam Avicenna Surabaya playgroup. This activity was carried out by providing dental health education media such as flipcharts, posters, and dental phantoms. Then post-test was given to the participants. Questionnaires regarding the behavior of maintaining dental and oral health were also given. The results showed that the understanding of parents with good categories was more than those with moderate and low categories. This means that some parents can receive dental health education well. Providing dental health education has a positive impact on understanding and knowledge of dental and oral health in parents. It can be concluded that by giving dental health education for parents of students in Taam Avicenna Surabaya playgroup, could enhance understanding and knowledge of dental and oral health so that it could help parents to improve behavior in oral and dental health

Fast Tempo Increases Attention: The Effect of Music Tempo on Attention

Music is an inseparable part of daily activities, one of which is student activities. Attention is an effort in mental processes to focus and pay attention to a particular object effectively and selectively. This study aims to see how fast and slow music tempos can affect students' attention, especially during this pandemic. This study used a between-subject design with three groups; One control group and two experimental groups. A total of 36 participants are students. The Concentration Grid Test is used as the measuring instrument. The results of the Kruskal-Wallis test showed a value of p = 0.040, p <0.05. The post-hoc analysis results showed that participants who listened to pop instrumental music with a fast tempo had a significantly higher score than those without music (p=0.042, MD=-1.083) and with a slow tempo (p=0.007, MD=1.583). There was no significant difference between no music with a slow tempo (p=0,229, MD=0,500). This result shows that the music tempo is not distracting and can increase students' attention.Musik menjadi bagian yang tak terpisahkan dari aktivitas sehari-hari, salah satunya dalam kegiatan yang dilakukan mahasiswa. Atensi merupakan usaha dalam proses mental yang dilakukan untuk memfokuskan dan memperhatikan suatu objek tertentu secara efektif dan selektif.  Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat bagaimana musik dengan tempo cepat dan lambat mampu memengaruhi atensi mahasiswa, terutama selama masa pandemik. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain between subject dengan tiga kelompok, satu kelompok kontrol dan dua kelompok eksperimen. Partisipan pada penelitian ini sebanyak 36 mahasiswa dan alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Concentration Grid Test. Hasil uji beda pada perhitungan Kruskal-Wallis menunjukkan nilai p = 0,040, p < 0,05. Hasil analisis post-hoc menunjukkan bahwa partisipan yang mendengarkan musik pop instrumental dengan tempo cepat memiliki skor yang secara signifikan lebih tinggi daripada tanpa musik (p=0,042, MD=-1.083) dan tempo lambat (p=0.007, MD=1,583), tetapi antara tanpa musik dengan tempo lambat tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (p=0,229, MD=0,500). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa tempo musik tidak menjadi sebuah distraksi, melainkan mampu meningkatkan atensi mahasiswa saat melakukan kegiatan kognitif

VAKSINASI MASAL COVID-19 DI PELABUHAN LEMBAR LOMBOK BARAT

ABSTRAKWHO (World  Health  Organization) secara  resmi  mendeklarasikan  virus  corona (Covid-19)  sebagai  pandemi. Virus Covid-19 menyebabkan gejala seperti demam dan batuk, dan kebanyakan bisa sembuh dalam beberapa minggu. Tapi bagi sebagian orang yang berisiko tinggi (kelompok lanjut  usia  dan  orang  dengan masalah  kesehatan  menahun, seperti  penyakit  jantung,  tekanan darah  tinggi,  atau diabetes), virus corona dapat menyebabkan masalah kesehatan yang serius. Ada dua  jalur  utama  penularan COVID-19, yakni penularan droplet pernapasan dan penularan kontak dekat. Dalam rangka penanggulangan pandemi COVID-19 tidak hanya dilaksanakan dari sisi penerapan protokol kesehatan, namun juga intervensi dengan vaksinasi sebagai bagian dari upaya pencegahan dan Pengendalian COVID-19. Kegiatan vaksinasi masal ini bertujuan agar dapat terbentuk herd immunity (kekebalan kelompok) dan berkurangnya angka kematian akibat COVID-19 pada masyarakat.Jenis vaksin yang digunakan pada kegiatan vaksinasi masal ini adalah Moderna. Jumlah responden yang mengikuti kegiatan ini sebanyak 1.581 orang. Hasil pengabdian didapatkan bahwa jumlah yang melakukan vaksinasi sebanyak 1.581 orang yang terdiri remaja sebanyak 60 orang dewasa sebanyak 1497 orang dan lansia sebanyak 24 orang, diberikan vaksin sebanyak 1.536 orang, ditunda sebanyak 45 orang. Kata kunci: vaksinasi; covid-19; komunitas. ABSTRACTWHO (World Health Organization) has officially declared the coronavirus (Covid-19) as a pandemic. The Covid-19 virus causes symptoms such as fever and cough, and most recover within a few weeks. But for some people who are at high risk (the elderly and people with chronic health problems, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, or diabetes), the coronavirus can cause serious health problems. There are two main routes of transmission of COVID-19, namely respiratory droplet transmission and close contact transmission. In the context of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, it is not only implemented in terms of implementing health protocols but also interventions with vaccinations as part of efforts to prevent and control COVID-19. This mass vaccination activity aims to form herd immunity and reduce the mortality rate due to COVID-19 in the community. The type of vaccine used in this mass vaccination activity is Moderna. The number of respondents who participated in this activity was 1,581 people. The results of the service found that the number of people who registered for Pcare was 1,581 people, consisting of 60 teenagers, 1497 adults, and 24 elderly people, 1,536 people were given the vaccine, 45 people were delayed. Keywords: vaccination; covid-19; community.

In vitro study sargassum sp. effervescent towards antifungal and compressive strength silicone based softliner

Background: Softliner is commonly used to provide convenience for edentulous patients. However, the use of softliner can cause denture stomatitis due to colonization of Candida albicans. Sargassum sp. contains active compounds of steroids, alkaloids, phenols, triterpenoids, act as antibacterial and antifungal. The use of Sargassum sp. in the form of effervescent as a denture cleanser can prevent denture stomatitis, and it’s expected not to affect the compressive strength. This study aimed to study the concentration variation of Sargassum sp. effervescent towards antifungal and compressive strength silicone based softlinerMethod: 20 sampels of silicone based softliner (10x3x2mm) divided into 5 groups. K(-) soaked in sterilled aquadest; K(+) in Polident solution; P1 in 10% effervescent Sargassum sp. solution; P2 20% ; P3 40%, for 15minutes. Candida calculated by colony counter (CFU/ml). Compressive strength measured by Universal Testing Machine.Result: Candida albicans in the K+ group is the lowest, while the K- group shows the highest value. In P1, P2, P3 group the value of Candida albicans is higher than K+ group, but much lower than K-. The compressive strength of K+ group shows the lowest value but in P3 group shows the highest value compared to other groups.Conclusion: The 10% concentration of effervescent extract Sargassum sp. is effective in reducing the number of Candida albicans in silicone based softliner compared to the K- group. The most effective concentration of effervescent extract Sargassum sp. in reducing the Candida albicans’ growth is 40%. The higher concentration of Sargassum sp. resulting in higher compressive strength

The sensory, physical and nutritional quality profiles of purple sweet potato and soy-based snack bars for pregnant women

Background: The deficiency of energy, protein, and other beneficial nutrients during pregnancy causes chronic energy deficiency (CED). This condition increases the chance of having babies with low birth weight (LBW) and various other health problems. To meet these nutritional needs, supplementary feeding is necessary in the form of snack bar, using local food ingredients, such as purple sweet potatoes and soybeans (PSPS). This study determines the differences in a few aspects of PSPS snack bar, such as sensory acceptability, physical quality, and nutritional content in several formulations.Design and Methods: The best three formulations were selected through sensory acceptability by involving 40 panelists and showed the following results P0 (commercial product), P2 (80% purple sweet potato: 20% soybean), and P3 (70% purple sweet potato: 30% soybean). Furthermore, these formulations were triplicated for further physical color test, the hardness and breaking force, as well as the nutritional analysis that includes both macro and micronutrients.Results: The results showed significant differences (p&lt;0.05) in the sensory acceptability, physical quality, nutritional content (except carbohydrate and iron), and antioxidant activity.Conclusions: In conclusion, snack bars with 70% purple sweet potato and 30% soybean gave the best formulation
