This work gives basic information about vane pumps, especially with unbalanced construction and vanes led by rotor. The first chapter generally gives an attention to pumps. There are described basic information, classification, advantages and disadvantages of the types, characteristics and calculation relations. The following chapters describe the vane pumps in the way of classification, description of function and calculation relations. There is also made a practical calculation of vane pump according to the assignment accompanied by CFD analysis.

Úkolem této diplomové práce je navrhnout nový tvar sací trouby, který bude jednodušší na výrobu při zachování dobrých hydraulických a pevnostních vlastností. První část práce je věnována formulaci problému, popisu vírové turbíny, principu činnosti, základním variantám uspořádání, dále funkci sací trouby, její účinnosti a dalším výpočetním vztahům. V druhé části práce je provedena CFD a pevnostní analýza původního řešení, dále je provedeno navržení nového návrhu řešení a možnost optimalizace pomocí ANSYS Fluent Adjoint solveru. The goal of this diploma thesis is to design a new shape of the draft tube, which will be easier to manufacture while maintaining good strength and hydraulic properties. First part of this thesis is devoted to the formulation of the problem, description of the swirl turbine, principle of operation, the basic variants of arrangement, also the function of the draft tube, its efficiency and other formulas. In the second part of this thesis is a CFD and strength analysis of the original design, also a new design is proposed and the possibility of optimization using ANSYS Fluent Adjoint solver.

Comparison of BPM Suites and Their Application in Enterprise Architecture

Rozvoj servisně orientované architektury a centralizace služeb umožnil vznik a rozvoj nástrojů pro řízení obchodních procesů (angl. Business proces Management - BPM). The evolution of services oriented architecture and the centralization of services enable the expansion of business process management tools. The centralized solution for BPM brings more flexibility, and it also helps to build high-quality architecture. Currently there exist several solutions that support the BPM, and the selection of the proper tool can be difficult. Simultaneously, it is a rapidly growing industry which also brings several standards and principals. The main goal of my thesis is to help IT and business specialist with the selection and application of BPM into enterprise architecture.Department of Software EngineeringKatedra softwarového inženýrstvíFaculty of Mathematics and PhysicsMatematicko-fyzikální fakult

Comprehensive verification of the behavior of the continuous welded rail on the bridge

    Get PDF
The aim of this paper is to verify the real behavior of the continuous welded rail on the bridge with a longer expansion length than allowed by Czech national regulations. Special attention is focused on the rate of interaction of the continuous welded rail and the bridge, which decisively affects the stress state in the continuous welded rail when the temperature changes. In order to improve the result and increase the accuracy of observation, two measuring methods (geodetic and strain gauge) were chosen while recording the temperature conditions of individual components of the system were simultaneously recorded

A lacustrine record of the early stage of the Miocene Climatic Optimum in Central Europe from the Most Basin, Ohře (Eger) Graben, Czech Republic.

21 pagesInternational audienceThis study reports on a ~ 150 m thick macrofossil-barren sequence of siliciclastic sediments from a Burdigalian age (Early Miocene) freshwater lake. The lake was located within an incipient rift system of the Most Basin in the Ohře (Eger) Graben, which was part of the European Cenozoic Rift System, and had an original area of ≈ 1000 km2. Sediments from the HK591 core that cover the entire thickness of the lake deposits and some of the adjacent stratigraphic units were analysed by X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (a proxy for element composition) and magnetic polarity measurement. The element proxies were subjected to frequency analysis, which provided estimated sedimentation rates, and allowed for sediment dating by magnetostratigraphy and orbital tuning of the age model. Based on the resulting age model and the known biostratigraphy, the lake was present between 17.4 and 16.6 Ma, which includes the onset of the Miocene Climatic Optimum in the latest Early Miocene. The identification of orbital forcing (precession, obliquity and short eccentricity cycles) confirms the stability of the sedimentary environment of the perennial lake in an underfilled basin. The dating allowed the sediment record to be interpreted in the context of the current knowledge of the European climate during that period. The stability of the sedimentary environment confirms that precipitation was relatively stable over the period recorded by the sediments

Design of an internet of things based real-time monitoring system for retired patients

    Get PDF
The main aim of this article is to design a monitoring center for collecting and evaluating the physiological function of retired patients in nursing homes. The system should be able to collect the information of body heat, heart rate, blood oxygen, orientation, and sleep time in the form of the little bracelet. The evaluating part of the system with the program can be placed into personal computer (PC) which can provide a user-friendly interface and easy managing. The program can display all needed information of the patient from previous days or months in the form of the graphs and the nursing person can have the view of the patient´s physiological health. The evaluation and the collection of the data from each patient are done only on the card and the computer is only a device for live-view and managing. In case of the power failure, the monitoring system will be still operating normally due to the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) in the form of the battery. It means that the system will operate even if the PC is powered off. The system also has several external communication interfaces like wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi), ethernet, and general packet radio service (GPRS) which provides an external connection. © 2021, Institute of Advanced Engineering and Science. Reduced real lifetime of PV panels – Economic consequences

    Get PDF
The maintenance and analyzing failures of PV systems and plants are becoming more and more important issues. Our data from the long-term operation of 85 photovoltaic power plants in central Europe show that their actual lifetime is about half that of the originally planned lifetime. After about 10 years, serious failures of 1st tier (bankable) PV panels occur at an increasing rate. This article presents selected typical data and describes the most serious failures. Furthermore, economic calculations of returns on investment are carried out in relation to the price of electricity, which is currently changing at a rapid pace. It shows that the PV panel lifetime reduction from 20 to 30 years, declared at commercial leaflets, to real lifetime about 10–12 years can reduce PV power plant profit substantially, but the investment is still worth it. The reason is that after 10–12 years ser vice/maintenance expenses to replace damaged PV panels and inverters are growing very quickly. The new information could be helpful for owners of PV power plants to get a more realistic estimation of profits
