Minimization of Mutual Coupling Using Neutralization Line Technique for 2.4 GHz Wireless Applications
YesThis paper presented a planar printed multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna with a dimension of 100 x 45 mm2. It composed of two crescent shaped radiators placed symmetrically with respect to the ground plane. Neutralization line applied to suppress mutual coupling. The proposed antenna examined both theoretically and experimentally, which achieves an impedance bandwidth of 18.67% (over 2.04-2.46 GHz) with a reflection coefficient < -10 dB and mutual coupling minimization of < -20 dB. An evaluation of MIMO antennas is presented, with analysis of correlation coefficient, total active reflection coefficient (TARC), capacity loss and channel capacity. These characteristics indicate that the proposed antenna suitable for some wireless applications
Nearly Bi-Maximal Neutrino Mixing, Muon g-2 Anomaly and Lepton-Flavor-Violating Processes
We interpret the newly observed muon g-2 anomaly in the framework of a
leptonic Higgs doublet model with nearly degenerate neutrino masses and nearly
bi-maximal neutrino mixing. Useful constraints are obtained on the rates of
lepton-flavor-violating rare decays ,
and as well as the - conversion ratio .
We find that , and
depend crucially on possible non-zero but samll values of the
neutrino mixing matrix element , and they are also sensitive to the
Dirac-type CP-violating phase. In particular, we show that , and are approximately in the ratio if is much larger than , and in the
ratio if is much lower than , where and are the corresponding mass-squared
differences of atmospheric and solar neutrino oscillations.Comment: LaTex 6 pages (2 PS figures). Phys. Rev. D (in printing
A_4 Symmetry and Lepton Masses and Mixing
Stimulated by Ma's idea which explains the tribimaximal neutrino mixing by
assuming an A_4 flavor symmetry, a lepton mass matrix model is investigated. A
Frogatt-Nielsen type model is assumed, and the flavor structures of the masses
and mixing are caused by the VEVs of SU(2)_L-singlet scalars \phi_i^u and
\phi_i^d (i=1,2,3), which are assigned to {\bf 3} and ({\bf 1}, {\bf 1}',{\bf
1}'') of A_4, respectively.Comment: 13 pages including 1 table, errors in Sec.7 correcte
Tri-Bimaximal Mixing from Twisted Friedberg-Lee Symmetry
We investigate the Friedberg-Lee (FL) symmetry and its promotion to include
the symmetry, and call that the twisted FL symmetry.Based on the
twisted FL symmetry, two possible schemes are presented toward the realistic
neutrino mass spectrum and the tri-bimaximal mixing. In the first scheme, we
suggest the semi-uniform translation of the FL symmetry. The second one is based
on the permutation family symmetry. The breaking terms, which are twisted
FL symmetric, are introduced. Some viable models in each scheme are also
presented.Comment: 14 pages, no figure. v2: 16 pages, modified some sentences, appendix

Design of 2x2 U-shape MIMO slot antennas with EBG material for mobile handset applications.
yesA compact dual U-shaped slot PIFA antenna with Electromagnetic Bandgap (EBG) material on a relatively low dielectric constant substrate is presented. Periodic structures have found to reduce mutual coupling and decrease the separation of antenna and ground plane. A design with EGB material suitable for a small terminal mobile handset operating at 2.4 GHz was studied. Simulated and measured scattering parameters are compared for U-shaped slot PIFA antenna with and without EBG structures. An evaluation of MIMO antennas is presented, with analysis of the mutual coupling, correlation coefficient, total active reflection coefficient (TARC), channel capacity and capacity loss. The proposed antenna meets the requirements for practical application within a mobile handset.Electronics and Telecommunication
Thermodynamics of charged and rotating black strings
We study thermodynamics of cylindrically symmetric black holes. Uncharged as
well as charged and rotating objects have been discussed. We derive surface
gravity and hence the Hawking temperature and entropy for all these cases. We
correct some results in the literature and present new ones. It is seen that
thermodynamically these black configurations behave differently from
spherically symmetric objects
On Two-Body Decays of A Scalar Glueball
We study two body decays of a scalar glueball. We show that in QCD a spin-0
pure glueball (a state only with gluons) cannot decay into a pair of light
quarks if chiral symmetry holds exactly, i.e., the decay amplitude is chirally
suppressed. However, this chiral suppression does not materialize itself at the
hadron level such as in decays into and , because in
perturbative QCD the glueball couples to two (but not one) light quark pairs
that hadronize to two mesons. Using QCD factorization based on an effective
Lagrangian, we show that the difference of hadronization into and
already leads to a large difference between and , even the decay amplitude is not chirally suppressed. Moreover,
the small ratio of of
measured in experiment does not imply to be a pure glueball. With
our results it is helpful to understand the partonic contents if or is measured reliably.Comment: revised versio
The 3-3-1 model with S_4 flavor symmetry
We construct a 3-3-1 model based on family symmetry S_4 responsible for the
neutrino and quark masses. The tribimaximal neutrino mixing and the diagonal
quark mixing have been obtained. The new lepton charge \mathcal{L} related to
the ordinary lepton charge L and a SU(3) charge by L=2/\sqrt{3} T_8+\mathcal{L}
and the lepton parity P_l=(-)^L known as a residual symmetry of L have been
introduced which provide insights in this kind of model. The expected vacuum
alignments resulting in potential minimization can origin from appropriate
violation terms of S_4 and \mathcal{L}. The smallness of seesaw contributions
can be explained from the existence of such terms too. If P_l is not broken by
the vacuum values of the scalar fields, there is no mixing between the exotic
and the ordinary quarks at the tree level.Comment: 20 pages, revised versio
Hygroscopic properties of aerosol particles at high relative humidity and their diurnal variations in the North China Plain
The hygroscopic properties of submicron aerosol particles were determined at a suburban site (Wuqing) in the North China Plain among a cluster of cities during the period 17 July to 12 August, 2009. A High Humidity Tandem Differential Mobility Analyser (HH-TDMA) instrument was applied to measure the hygroscopic growth factor (GF) at 90%, 95% and 98.5% relative humidity (RH) for particles with dry diameters between 50 and 250 nm. The probability distribution of GF (GF-PDF) averaged over the period shows a distinct bimodal pattern, namely, a dominant more-hygroscopic (MH) group and a smaller nearly-hydrophobic (NH) group. The MH group particles were highly hygroscopic, and their GF was relatively constant during the period with average values of 1.54 ± 0.02, 1.81 ± 0.04 and 2.45 ± 0.07 at 90%, 95% and 98.5% RH (D0 = 100 nm), respectively. The NH group particles grew very slightly when exposed to high RH, with GF values of 1.08 ± 0.02, 1.13 ± 0.06 and 1.24 ± 0.13 respectively at 90%, 95% and 98.5% RH (D0 = 100 nm). The hygroscopic growth behaviours at different RHs were well represented by a single-parameter Köhler model. Thus, the calculation of GF as a function of RH and dry diameter could be facilitated by an empirical parameterization of κ as function of dry diameter. A strong diurnal pattern in number fraction of different hygroscopic groups was observed. The average number fraction of NH particles during the day was about 8%, while during the nighttime fractions up to 20% were reached. Correspondingly, the state of mixing in terms of water uptake varied significantly during a day. Simulations using a particle-resolved aerosol box model (PartMC-MOSAIC) suggest that the diurnal variations of aerosol hygroscopicity and mixing state were mainly caused by the evolution of the atmospheric mixing layer. The shallow nocturnal boundary layer during the night facilitated the accumulation of freshly emitted carbonaceous particles (mainly hydrophobic) near the surface while in the morning turbulence entrained the more aged and more hygroscopic particles from aloft and diluted the NH particles near the surface resulting in a decrease in the fraction of NH particles
