Este artigo tem o objetivo de discutir o modelo de expansão e de universalização da banda larga no Brasil à luz dos direito do acesso à Internet. São apresentadas as estratégias empregadas em países de grandes extensões – no caso, Canadá e Austrália; a mobilização para a universalização da banda larga; as disputas pelo espectro eletromagnético; a mobilização social pela universalização da banda larga e as políticas para o acesso à hardware em apoio à infraestrutura da internet.Este artículo tiene el objetivo de discutir el modelo de expansión y de universalización de la banda ancha en Brasil a la luz de los derechos del acceso a Internet. Virtual Models for Crystallography Teaching in Mineralogy: Some Suggestions

[Abstract] Crystallography concepts are usually among the most demanding subjects for Mineralogy students. Traditional onsite teaching of Mineralogy starts with physical models of crystal polyhedra and frequently also includes the observation of models of crystal structures. These teaching strategies could be difficult to implement under pandemic situations like the present one. But they also have other disadvantages under the usual access conditions as their use by the students is restricted by the number of students in relation to the number of models and by the availability of the models and teaching staff. Additionally, onsite teaching can pose challenges to both students and teachers with temporal or permanent disabilities. We consider here some possibilities of teaching with virtual models of crystal polyhedra, twinning, and crystal structures, based on some of the available freeware options and considering the main concepts taught in the usual Mineralogy syllabus.Portugal. Remote operations could be the future for Earth Sciences teaching: a speculative discussion

[Abstract] The current COVID-19 pandemic has created havoc in the regular workings of many institutions, such as those dedicated to teaching; therefore, there is an urge for alternatives to traditional face-to-face teaching. However, for certain subjects, such as Earth Sciences, distance-teaching approaches could be seen as counterintuitive to the essential foundations of the subject (where empirical information, especially from fieldwork, is considered paramount for its foundation and growth). In this work, we consider remote operations that could complement, improve, and perhaps even replace the traditional approach for teaching Earth Sciences, potentially producing better learning outcomes, even in relation to laboratory and fieldwork, including studies involving locations outside of planet Earth. Additionally, we consider the possible advantages for other professional settings related to this area, such as those concerning terrain characterization for engineering works, mineral resources, and environmental studies, as well as possible support for space missions and stations in other astronomical bodies (where mineral exploration and extraction could be developed and, hence, benefit from remote operations).Portugal. “Open” or “half-open” Access?: re-thinking Open Access Initiative (OAI) policies

The goal of this paper is to review critically the concept of "open access" of the Open Access Initiative (OAI), and consequently their policies. Considering the technological and behavioral changes underway in society, we advocate a broader scope of the meaning of “open access”. This includes looking at the issue of the intense public funding for research, the diverse forms of copying and dissemination (not just periodicals) and the need to include in the current agenda a broad reform of copyrights

A notação e o discurso musical

O objectivo da Tese é o de contribuir para uma reflexão sobre o papel da Notação Musical em todo o fenómeno musical, desde o processo da sua composição, as suas características discursivas, à fruição pelo público, passando pela acção do intérprete, tentando estabelecer pontes entre os vários discursos musicais e as várias opções de notação, contribuindo para uma melhor utilização e exploração das suas potencialidades e limitações. Centro grande parte da atenção nas questões práticas, como por exemplo a coordenação dos acontecimentos que as “novas” notações levantam na realização de peças para grupo de câmara com necessidade de direcção e sua possível leitura através de partes instrumentais/vocais individuais, não abordando assim em pormenor os aspectos particulares da sua simbologia. Proponho portanto uma reflexão sobre possíveis soluções para o problema da coordenação vertical, em notações que não usem o compasso para esta coordenação; ### Summary: The aim of this thesis is to contribute to the reflection on the role of Musical Notation, throughout the musical phenomenon, from the process of its composition, its discursive features to the fruition by the public and the action of the interpreter, trying to bridge the various musical discourses and the various options of notation, contributing to a better use and exploitation of its potential and limitations. I focus most of the attention on practical issues, such as the coordination of the events that "new" notations raise in the implementation of pieces for chamber group needing direction and its possible reading through instrumental/vocal individual parts thus not addressing in detail the particular aspects of its symbolism. I therefore propose a reflection on possible solutions to the problem of vertical coordination in notation that doesn’t use the compass for this coordination

O Ministério da Justiça realizou uma consulta pública e formulou um projeto de lei para o estabelecimento de um quadro jurídico baseado em direitos civis para o uso da internet. Geological Materials as Cultural Markers of Water Resources

[Abstract] Water has always been a critical resource for humans and climate change could aggravate supply problems. In this context, groundwater could be an important reservoir of water, especially given the dispersion of places where it can be obtained and the widespread occurrence of surface marks (springs). Historically, places where groundwater is available have been marked by humans using built structures, with stone materials having a major role. These cultural objects tend to become a part of the collective memory and the historical record (when available) and frequently they stay on the original site along time (hence “marking a spot” for groundwater). However, the development of major water supply structures, especially in the 20th century, promoted the negligence of these ancient water sources. We present a general defense of the importance of recording and preserving cultural stone related to water sources, preferably in the original sites. Conservation of groundwater-related structures could help in the future exploration of this geological resource and converge with historical information on the fountains’ discharge, with geological studies of the terrains and geochemical features of the groundwaters involved, in order to characterize the hydrogeological systems and their potential future use (including the preservation of water quality and properties). Ativismo em rede e conexões identitárias: novas perspectivas para os movimentos sociais

Neste trabalho, busco identificar as principais características das novas formas de organização dos movimentos sociais, com base no uso das novas tecnologias de informação e comunicação. A partir da descrição de alguns casos, é mostrado como os coletivos sociais atribuem à Internet um papel central em suas formas de articulação, desenvolvendo com êxito novas formas de organização, com compartilhamento de metas, alinhamento de estratégias e formação de coalizões e alianças de alcance global. Tal fenômeno abre um amplo horizonte de transformações e mudanças sociais, que apontam para o surgimento de novas dinâmicas de ação coletiva com base em complexas redes identitárias, orientadas por valores “universais”. Normas Internacionales de Información Financiera Análisis de la aplicación de las (NIIF para Pymes) sección 7: Estados de flujo de efectivo a los estados financieros de JM Catering Services,S.A. al periodo comprendido del 01 de enero al 31 de diciembre 2018

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar y elaborar el flujo de efectico de JM CATERING SERVICES S.A de acuerdo a las Normas Internacionales de información financiera para pequeñas y medianas empresas, ya que éstas son normas de uso global y proporcionan información con mayor exactitud y confiabilidad para los usuarios. La elaboración de este trabajo permitió usar la información recopilada como base para la toma de decisiones en el restaurante. Para la elaboración de este trabajo se emplearon técnicas de recopilación de información las cuales permitieron plasmar información objetiva y verídica, en el caso práctico se aplicó el Estado de Flujo de Efectivo permitiendo verificar las debilidades del restaurante. Dentro de las principales conclusiones se usó como referencia un análisis de las cuentas de la empresa elaborando el Estado de Flujo de Efectivo que es aplicable para todas las entidades, toda la información recopilada y analizada fue base fundamental para la finalización de este trabajo
