Compressive strength of concrete at the age of 28 days is an important parameter for the design of concrete structures and waiting for that length of time to obtain the value can be tasky. This study developed an alternative approach using Artificial Neutral Network (ANN) to estimate or predict the compressive strength of concrete at 28th day from early age results. In the study concrete cubes of mix ratio 1:2:4 were cast with different water-cement ratios (0.4, 0.5, 0.6 and 0.65) and their seventh (7th) and twenty-eighth (28th) day strength were measured in the laboratory. In all, 400 cubes of 150 x 150 x 150mm of 200 sets were subjected to compressive strength test using Avery Denison Universal Testing Machine of 2000 kN load capacity at a constant load application of 15kN/s. ANN model was then developed using the time series tool of ANN in MATLAB 7.12.0 (R2011a) applying back propagation algorithm. Out of the 200 sets of results, 110 sets (55%) were used for the training of the network while 30 sets (15%) were used to validate and 60 sets (30%) to test the network. The result of the crushing test shows that the higher the compressive strength at seventh (7th) day the higher it will be at twenty-eighth (28th) day. The result of the ANN model shows a good correlation between the seventh (7th) day compressive strength and the twenty-eighth (28th) day compressive strength with training and validation correlation coefficients of 0.99751 and 0.99736 respectively. It was also found that the ANN model is quite efficient in determining the twenty-eighth (28th) day compressive strength of concreteas the predicted strength values match very well with those obtained experimentally with a correlation coefficient of 0.99675

Analisa Kerusakan Dan Perbaikan Power Train Pada Unit Excavator Kobelco SK200-5

    Get PDF
Power train is a drive mechanism that works together to transmit power from the engine to the final drive, how the power train works when the engine rotates drives the main pump to circulate pressurized oil from the tank to the control valve and is passed on to the travel motor to drive the final drive. A visual inspection of the components is carried out to ensure that the power train components are damaged which causes the unit to stutter, along with several visual inspections of the power train components including checking the Control Valve, Idler, and Motor Travel. Based on the results of checking the power train has damage to the worn sprocket teeth. This damage is caused by soil or mud that sticks and hardens resulting in erosion of the components which makes the components wear out, the service life has exceeded the limit. Repairs to this sprocket component require replacing it with a new part because the Kobelco Sk200-5 excavator uses a solid type sprocket

The Mentha piperita is an aromatic perennial herb, a member of the family Lamiaceae (Labiatae) that produces creeping stolons, growing in the range of 45 to 80 cm tall. Fungal endophytes reside in the healthy plant tissues to produce several metabolic products such as plants growth hormones, anti-phagocytes to biological feeding, medicinal ingredients, and many products of biological activities. Hence, they are regarded as a reservoir of active metabolites for the development of novel drugs. Although, many endophytic fungi have been reported from different plants, reports on fungal endophytes from M. piperita are very limited. In this study, fungal endophytes from the leaf and stem of M. piperita were successfully evaluated for their potential antibacterial properties. Healthy leaves of the peppermint were prepared and cultured on potato dextrose agar (PDA) plates for 5 to 7 days at 28 oC until fungal colonies appeared. Fifteen (15) fungal isolates were identified based on cultural and morphological characteristics and had six (6) rapid growing species, namely Aspergillus fumigatus, Rhizopus arrhizus, Aspergillus flavus, Fusarium oxysporum, Aspergillus niger, Alternaria alternate which were selected and evaluated their crude metabolites against c using agar well diffusion method. The susceptibility study showed a remarkable in vitro antibacterial activity of the fungal crude metabolites against all the test bacteria which increased with an increased incubation time of 7, 14 and 21 days incubation. However, the fungi displayed maximal zone of growth inhibition after 21 days of incubation. In conclusion, fungal endophytes were isolated from M. piperita and evaluated in vitro antibacterial activity of their crude metabolites against the test bacterial isolates

The creative economy has recently grown rapidly in Indonesia with a growth of around 5.70% annually. Even during the Covid-19 pandemic, the creative economy became a catalyst for Indonesia's economic growth amidst a slowdown in global economic growth. Long before the pandemic, the Government of Indonesia formed the Creative Economy Agency by the President through Perpres No. 6 of 2015 which is the first step. The government launched a creative economy development program and increased innovation and technology as an effort to increase inclusive and sustainable economic growth (Perpres No. 2 of 2015). In the National Creative Economy Development Master Plan (REINDEKREAF/ Rencana Induk Pengembangan Ekonomi Kreatif Nasional) Perpres No. 142 of 2018 there are several parties that can play a role in the development of the creative economy, one of which is an educational institution. The Islamic educational institution that is quite prominent in Indonesia is the Islamic Boarding School. While the reason for choosing Malang City as the planning location is because Malang City occupies the second position (after Surabaya) from the distribution of creative economy actors in East Java, support from the Mayor in the form of Creative Center policies and facilities, and is one of the cities that is familiar with the Islamic education system (Islamic Boarding school)

Open Access Journal; Published online: 30 Oct 2018The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture maintains the world’s largest collection of cowpea germplasm of over 15,000 accessions. A sub-set of 298 lines from the loosely composed mini core collection of 370 landraces were genotyped based on genotyping by sequencing (GBS). Ward’s minimum variance hierarchical cluster analysis, model-based ancestry analysis and discriminant analysis of principal component (DAPC) were carried out on this sub-set. Three clusters were identified by the different clustering methods. Principal component analysis further supported the three clusters especially when accessions are scattered along the axes of the first two principal components. The first two principal components explained a total of 22.30% of the variation. Cluster one comprises 115 accessions from the largest number of countries and has the highest gene diversity, heterozygosity and polymorphic information content (PIC) values. Cluster two is made up of 102 accessions, 90 percent of which are from West and Central Africa. Analysis of molecular variance shows that the most variation is among accessions and lowest among clusters. No cluster is made exclusively of accessions from a single country. Based on SNP markers, the sub set of cowpea mini core germplasm collection used in this study encompasses the diversity in the crop
