Ultrathin epitaxial Fe films in vicinal GaAs(001): A study by spin-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy
Thin epitaxial Fe films have been grown on vicinal GaAs(001) substrates and their remanent magnetic properties and the degree of substrate atom diffusion investigated using synchrotron-based photoelectron spectroscopy. The vicinal Fe films, though exhibiting greater As diffusion than their singular homologues, displayed better film quality both from the structural and the magnetic points of view. The spin-resolved valence spectra of the vicinal films resemble those for crystalline bulk Fe at lower film thicknesses than for singular films
Compressibility of and (M = Rh, Ir and Co) Compounds
The lattice parameters of the tetragonal compounds CeIn and
CeIn(Rh, Ir and Co) have been studied as a function of
pressure up to 15 GPa using a diamond anvil cell under both hydrostatic and
quasihydrostatic conditions at room temperature. The addition of In
layers to the parent CeIn compound is found to stiffen the lattice as the
2-layer systems (average of bulk modulus values is 70.4 GPa) have a
larger than CeIn (67 GPa), while the 1-layer systems with the are
even stiffer (average of is 81.4 GPa). Estimating the hybridization
using parameters from tight binding calculations shows that the dominant
hybridization is in nature between the Ce and In atoms. The values of
at the pressure where the superconducting transition temperature
reaches a maximum is the same for all CeIn compounds. By
plotting the maximum values of the superconducting transition temperature
versus for the studied compounds and Pu-based superconductors, we
find a universal versus behavior when these quantities are
normalized appropriately. These results are consistent with magnetically

Field dependent effective masses in YbAl
We show for the intermediate valence compound YbAl that the high field
(40 60T) effective masses measured by the de Haas-van
Alphen experiment for field along the direction are smaller by
approximately a factor of two than the low field masses. The field
40T for this reduction is much smaller than the Kondo field ( 670K) but is comparable to the field
where 40K is the temperature for the onset
of Fermi liquid coherence. This suggests that the field scale does not
arise from 4 polarization but is connected with the removal of the anomalies

Localized f electrons in CexLa1-xRhIn5: dHvA Measurements
Measurements of the de Haas-van Alphen effect in CexLa1-xRhIn5 reveal that
the Ce 4f electrons remain localized for all x, with the mass enhancement and
progressive loss of one spin from the de Haas-van Alphen signal resulting from
spin fluctuation effects. This behavior may be typical of antiferromagnetic
heavy fermion compounds, inspite of the fact that the 4f electron localization
in CeRhIn5 is driven, in part, by a spin-density wave instability.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures, submitted to PR
Feasibility of family group conference to promote return-to-work of persons receiving work disability benefit
Purpose: To investigate the feasibility of Family Group Conference for promoting return to work by clients receiving work disability benefits from the Social Security Institute in the Netherlands. Methods: We conducted a mixed-method pre- post-intervention feasibility study, using questionnaires, semi-structured interviews and return to work plans drafted in Family Group Conferences. A convenient sample of Labour experts, Clients, and Facilitators was followed for a period of six months. Feasibility outcomes were demand, acceptability, implementation and limited efficacy of perceived mental health and level of participation. Results: Fourteen labour experts and sixteen facilitators enrolled in the study. Of 28 eligible clients, nine (32%) participated in a Family Group Conference. About 78% of the Family Group Conferences were implemented as planned. Participant satisfaction about Family Group Conference was good (mean score 7). Perceived mental health and level of participation improved slightly during follow-up. Most actions in the return to work plans were work related. Most frequently chosen to take action was the participating client himself, supported by significant others in his or her social network. Six months after the Family Group Conference five participating clients returned to paid or voluntary work. Conclusions: Family Group Conference seems a feasible intervention to promote return to work by clients on work disability benefit. Involvement of the social network may have added value to support the clients in this process. An effectiveness study to further develop and test Family Group Conferences is recommended
Incommensurate magnetic structure of CeRhIn5
The magnetic structure of the heavy fermion antiferromagnet CeRhIn5 is
determined using neutron diffraction. We find a magnetic wave vector
q_M=(1/2,1/2,0.297), which is temperature independent up to T_N=3.8K. A
staggered moment of 0.374(5) Bohr magneton at 1.4K, residing on the Ce ion,
spirals transversely along the c axis. The nearest neighbor moments on the
tetragonal basal plane are aligned antiferromagnetically.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures There was an extra factor of 2 in Eq (2). This

0.374(5) Bohr magneton at 1.4
Origin and emergence of entrepreneurship as a research field
This paper seeks to map out the emergence and evolution of entrepreneurship as an independent field in the social science literature from the early 1990s to 2009. Our analysis indicates that entrepreneurship has grown steadily during the 1990s but has truly emerged as a legitimate academic discipline in the latter part of the 2000s. The field has been dominated by researchers from Anglo-Saxon countries over the past 20 years, with particularly strong representations from the US, UK, and Canada. The results from our structural analysis, which is based on a core document approach, point to five large knowledge clusters and further 16 sub-clusters. We characterize the clusters from their cognitive structure and assess the strength of the relationships between these clusters. In addition, a list of most cited articles is presented and discussed
A Note on Classical Solution of Chaplygin-gas as D-brane
The classical solution of bosonic d-brane in (d+1,1) space-time is studied.
We work with light-cone gauge and reduce the problem into Chaplygin gas
problem. The static equation is equivalent to vanishing of extrinsic mean
curvature, which is similar to Einstein equation in vacuum. We show that the
d-brane problem in this gauge is closely related to Plateau problem, and we
give some non-trivial solutions from minimal surfaces. The solutions of
d-1,d,d+1 spatial dimensions are obtained from d-dimensional minimal surfaces
as solutions of Plateau problem. In addition we discuss on the relation to

FischerâTropsch: Product SelectivityâThe Fingerprint of Synthetic Fuels
The bulk of the products that were synthesized from FischerâTropsch synthesis (FTS) is a wide range (C1âC70+) of hydrocarbons, primarily straight-chained paraffins. Additional hydrocarbon products, which can also be a majority, are linear olefins, specifically: 1-olefin, trans-2-olefin, and cis-2-olefin. Minor hydrocarbon products can include isomerized hydrocarbons, predominantly methyl-branched paraffin, cyclic hydrocarbons mainly derived from high-temperature FTS and internal olefins. Combined, these products provide 80â95% of the total products (excluding CO2) generated from syngas. A vast number of different oxygenated species, such as aldehydes, ketones, acids, and alcohols, are also embedded in this product range. These materials can be used to probe the FTS mechanism or to produce alternative chemicals. The purpose of this article is to compare the product selectivity over several FTS catalysts. Discussions center on typical product selectivity of commonly used catalysts, as well as some uncommon formulations that display selectivity anomalies. Reaction tests were conducted while using an isothermal continuously stirred tank reactor. Carbon mole percentages of CO that are converted to specific materials for Co, Fe, and Ru catalysts vary, but they depend on support type (especially with cobalt and ruthenium) and promoters (especially with iron). All three active metals produced linear alcohols as the major oxygenated product. In addition, only iron produced significant selectivities to acids, aldehydes, and ketones. Iron catalysts consistently produced the most isomerized products of the catalysts that were tested. Not only does product selectivity provide a fingerprint of the catalyst formulation, but it also points to a viable proposed mechanistic route
