    Reka Bentuk dan Teknologi (RBT) merupakan mata pelajaran baharu yang diperkenal dalam Kurikulum Standard Sekolah Rendah (KSSR) bertujuan untuk mengukuhkan kemahiran berfikir murid untuk menyediakan modal insan yang dapat bersaing pada peringkat global. Kurikulum RBT yang direka bentuk mampu menjadikan murid untuk menghasilkan produk yang kreatif dan berasaskan teknologi sekali gus menjadikan mata pelajaran ini wadah dalam mengaplikasikan kemahiran berfikir aras tinggi (KBAT). Pembentukan budaya KBAT bagi mata pelajaran RBT ini disandarkan sepenuhnya kepada pengetahuan isi kandungan dan kemahiran pedagogi guru serta kaedah pengaplikasian KBAT yang efektif semasa proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran dijalankan. Justeru, kajian rintis ini dilakukan untuk mengenal pasti tahap pengetahuan dan kemahiran pedagogi guru dalam mengaplikasikan KBAT kepada murid melalui mata pelajaran RBT. Seramai 36 orang guru di Daerah Kinta Utara, Perak yang mengajar mata pelajaran RBT terlibat dalam kajian ini. Hasil daripada kajian menunjukkan tahap pengetahuan isi kandungan guru RBT berada pada tahap sederhana (M = 2.558, SP = 0.379). Kemahiran pedagogi guru RBT pula berada pada tahap sederhana mahir (M = 2.625, SP =0.450), manakala penguasaan elemen kemahiran berfikir beraras tinggi dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran RBT berada pada tahap sederhana (M = 2.754, SP = 0.444). Secara keseluruhannya kajian ini memberikan input bahawa para guru perlu memantapkan pengetahuan isi kandungan dan kemahiran pedagogi dalam kurikulum RBT bagi menerapkan KBAT semasa proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran dalam bilik darjah. Malahan, dapatan juga boleh dijadikan landasan bagi mencari model pengajaran dan pembelajaran yang terbaik bagi mengamalkan budaya KBAT dalam kalangan murid dalam bilik darjah

    The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of managerial ownership, institutional ownership, disclosure of corporate social responsibility and firm size to firm value. This research is conducted on mining sector companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange 2012-2016. The total sample used in this research is 125 company data of mining sector and using purposive sampling method with criterion of mining company observed listed in Bursa Efek Indonesia and mining company express corporate social responsibility during year 2012-2016. Data analysis method used in this research use multiple linier regression analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that managerial ownership, institutional ownership has an influence on corporate value and disclosure of corporate social responsibility and firm size has no influence on firm value.     Dry machining of T6061 aluminium alloy using titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coated tools

    In metal cutting process, the use of cutting fluids, cooling and easy chip removal causes long-term effects of cutting fluids disposal into environment. Research has also proven the health hazards on manufacturing workers who coming in direct contact with cutting fluids. Currently it is highly competitive or end-user of metal workings fluid to reduce cost and improve productivity. Considering the high cost and problems associated with health and safety, it would be desirable if the use of cutting fluids be omitted. This study investigates the flank wear behavior of coated Titanium Carbonitride (TiCN) coated tools in dry and wet machining of T6061 Aluminum alloy with the aim of obtaining the optimum cutting speed for dry and wet machining respectively. By using specific depths of cut 0.2 and 0.6 mm with feed rates of 0.4 and 0.8 mm/rev respectively, the wear was investigated for 3 different high cutting speeds; 290, 360 and 446 mm/min. Results of dry machining was compared with traditional wet machining process. The temperature of tool tip, machining time and tool wear were recorded. Wear rate of the tool increases with the increasing cutting speed and parameters for both dry and wet machining. Wear percentage difference for dry machining was found to be 21-37 % (d = 0.2 mm and f = 0.4 mm/rev) and 41 - 58% (d = 0.6 mm and f = 0.8 mm/rev) higher than wet machining. The optimum cutting speed for both cutting parameters is 446 m/min for dry and wet machining. Tool tip temperature for dry machining is found to be 14 - 16 % higher than wet machining for both cutting parameters. It is observed that dry machining is suitable for high speed intermittent cutting operations

    Kemahiran berfikir dijadikan satu landasan sebelum membuat sebarang tindakan dan ianya melibatkan proses intelektual yang merangkumi pembentukan konsep, mengaplikasi, menganalisis dan menilai maklumat yang diperoleh daripada pelbagai sumber. Kemahiran berfikir menjadi asas dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran murid semasa menimba ilmu. Justeru itu, kemahiran berfikir menjadi agenda utama Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (KPM) dalam melakukan transformasi kurikulum pendidikan di samping memperkenalkan mata pelajaran Reka Bentuk dan Teknologi (RBT) dalam Kurikulum Standard Sekolah Rendah (KSSR). Kandungan kurikulumnya menjadikan murid mampu menghasilkan produk yang kreatif dan berasaskan teknologi sekali gus mata pelajaran ini memerlukan tahap kemahiran berfikir beraras tinggi. Pembentukan budaya kemahiran berfikir beraras tinggi dalam kalangan murid ini disandarkan kepada pengetahuan isi kandungan dan kemahiran pedagogi guru semasa melaksanakan proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Kajian dijalankan ke atas 36 orang guru mata pelajaran RBT di daerah Kinta Utara, Perak. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan tahap pengetahuan isi kandungan guru RBT berada pada tahap lemah (M = 2.558, SP = 0.379). Begitu juga dengan kemahiran pedagogi guru RBT juga berada pada tahap kurang mahir (M = 2.625, SP =0.450) manakala penguasaan elemen kemahiran berfikir beraras tinggi dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran RBT juga berada pada tahap lemah (M = 2.754, SP = 0.444). Implikasi kajian ini memberi maklumat kepada para guru untuk memantapkan pengetahuan isi kandungan dan kemahiran pedagogi dalam kurikulum RBT bagi menerapkan kemahiran berfikir semasa proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran di bilik darjah. Malahan dapatan juga boleh dijadikan landasan bagi membangunkan kaedah pembelajaran yang terbaik bagi mengamalkan budaya kemahiran berfikir dalam bilik darjah dalam kalangan murid

    Performance of blood glucose management protocols in HTAA intensive care unit

    Insulin Infusion Therapy (IIT) has been implemented in Malaysia Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for decades to control blood glucose level (BGL) among critically ill patients. In this study, clinical data of 210 patients treated with IIT-HTAA protocol and the minimum length of stay of 1 day were analysed. BGL, insulin and nutrition inputs were fitted using Intensive Control Insulin Nutrition Glucose (ICING) model to generate the insulin sensitivity numerically by iterative-integral method. The 95% of confidence interval and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test (p 10.0 mmol/L is 19.7% while 32.8% for HTAA Protocol. The drawback from this positive result is the increment of hypoglycaemic patients (HTAA Protocol: 9; STAR: 36). Thus, STAR is the best solution in controlling the patients' BG level especially in Malaysian cohort but the enhancement of STAR have to be done to prevent the risk of hypoglycaemia by introducing patient-specific nutrition controller that can be combined with insulin infusion

BGL, insulin and nutrition inputs were fitted using Intensive Control Insulin Nutrition Glucose (ICING) model to generate the insulin sensitivity numerically by iterative-integral method. The 95% of confidence interval and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test (p<0.05) were used to evaluate the performance of protocol between the Stochastic TARgeted (STAR) and HTAA protocols per cohorts and per patients. Results indicates BG median [with IQR] recorded in STAR protocol for the whole cohort statistics is lower than HTAA Protocol where 7.4 mmol/L [5.7-9.4] and 8.6 mmol/L [6.8-10.9] respectively. STAR is successful in lowering the BGL which can be seen from the % BG > 10.0 mmol/L is 19.7% while 32.8% for HTAA Protocol. The drawback from this positive result is the increment of hypoglycaemic patients (HTAA Protocol: 9; STAR: 36).     Investigation of glucose-insulin model efficacy for diabetes patient in the ICU

    This paper investigates the inter-relationship of blood glucose (BG) model fitting error percentage for both diabetic and non-diabetic patient’s status with ICING glucose-insulin model efficacy. Data were taken from 132 critically ill patients admitted in ICU of Hospital Tunku Ampuan Afzan (HTAA), Kuantan, Malaysia. The BG fitting error results are important to determine the efficacy and safety of chosen glucose-insulin model-based. Analysis results of per-patient and by-cohort were used to suggest whether diabetes is an influential factor for model BG fitting error efficacy. For diabetic per-patient and by-cohort, median model fit error are 0.29 and 0.31% respectively Meanwhile, for non-diabetic per-patient and by-cohort model fit error are 0.27 and 0.29% respectively. In conclusion, results demonstrated no significant difference between diabetic and non-diabetic patient in model fitting error. Thus, ICING model may be used to deliver real time model-based insulin therapy whether patient is diabetic or non-diabetic
