    Tessier number 30 clefts with congenital heart defects

    Introduction: Midline cleft of mandible, classified as Tessier 30 clefts is extremely rare, with less than 100 reported cases in the latest studies. Variations in severity and associated malformations have been reported before. Case Presentation: In this report, we present the first documented Iranian case of Tessier 30 with median cleft of lower lip and bifid tongue concomitant with congenital heart defects. Conclusions: We explain embryologic origin, differential diagnosis, other associated anomalies and its treatment by reviewing literature. © 2015, Iranian Red Crescent Medical Journal

    Detection of Lying Electrical Vehicles in Charging Coordination Application Using Deep Learning

    The simultaneous charging of many electric vehicles (EVs) stresses the distribution system and may cause grid instability in severe cases. The best way to avoid this problem is by charging coordination. The idea is that the EVs should report data (such as state-of-charge (SoC) of the battery) to run a mechanism to prioritize the charging requests and select the EVs that should charge during this time slot and defer other requests to future time slots. However, EVs may lie and send false data to receive high charging priority illegally. In this paper, we first study this attack to evaluate the gains of the lying EVs and how their behavior impacts the honest EVs and the performance of charging coordination mechanism. Our evaluations indicate that lying EVs have a greater chance to get charged comparing to honest EVs and they degrade the performance of the charging coordination mechanism. Then, an anomaly based detector that is using deep neural networks (DNN) is devised to identify the lying EVs. To do that, we first create an honest dataset for charging coordination application using real driving traces and information revealed by EV manufacturers, and then we also propose a number of attacks to create malicious data. We trained and evaluated two models, which are the multi-layer perceptron (MLP) and the gated recurrent unit (GRU) using this dataset and the GRU detector gives better results. Our evaluations indicate that our detector can detect lying EVs with high accuracy and low false positive rate

    Measuring the Spin of GRS 1915+105 with Relativistic Disk Reflection

    GRS 1915+105 harbors one of the most massive known stellar black holes in the Galaxy. In May 2007, we observed GRS 1915+105 for 117 ksec in the low/hard state using Suzaku. We collected and analyzed the data with the HXD/PIN and XIS cameras spanning the energy range from 2.3-55 keV. Fits to the spectra with simple models reveal strong disk reflection through an Fe K emission line and a Compton back-scattering hump. We report constraints on the spin parameter of the black hole in GRS 1915+105 using relativistic disk reflection models. The model for the soft X-ray spectrum (i.e. < 10 keV) suggests a/M = 0.56(2) and excludes zero spin at the 4 sigma level of confidence. The model for the full broadband spectrum suggests that the spin may be higher, a/M = 0.98(1) (1 sigma confidence), and again excludes zero spin at the 2 sigma level of confidence. We discuss these results in the context of other spin constraints and inner disk studies in GRS 1915+105.Comment: Accepted for publication in Ap

    Influence of upstream strut on hydrogen fuel distribution inside the supersonic combustion chamber

    © 2020 Hydrogen Energy Publications LLC The efficient fuel mixing in the combustion tank enhances the overall performance of scramjet. Current attempt examines the existence of the strut on the fuel mixing of the multi hydrogen jets at supersonic flow. The numerical approach was employed to visualize the 3D flow behind the strut with multi fuel-jets. The free-stream Mach is 2.2, and four multi jets released hydrogen inside the combustor with the sonic condition. The impact of jet arrangements and the total pressure ratio on the mixing effect of the strut is fully described. Our results indicate that fuel mixing and penetration improved due to the formation of the large subsonic region behind the strut. According to achieved results, the increasing jet space from 1Dj to 5Dj raises the overall mixing to 15% in our proposed model

    Salinity tolerance of some bivalves of Ennore estuary

    The clam Meretrix meretrix, the green mussel Perna viridis and the oyster Crassostrea madrasensis exist in the Ennore Estuary. The ' bar' is open throughout the year and as a result except during the Northeast Monsoon period when there is significant fall in salinity, higher salinity as in the inshore waters are prevalent. The present investigations were designed and aimed at studying the salinity tolerance of the above mentioned bivalves. In the experiments conducted they were subjected to a series of salinity changes ranging from 0 to 35 %„. The rates of mortality of the animals in different salinity media were noted at the end of 24 hours for a consecutive period of ten days. It was found that the bivalves were tolerant to the salinity change of the experimental media when the survival rate was 50% and above at the close of this period. The results obtained show that Crassostrea madrasensis, Meretrix meretrix and Perm viridis can tolerate an approximate low salinity of 7, 13 and 16%, respectively under laboratory conditions

    The Effects of Magnetic Fields and Inhomogeneities on Accretion Disk Spectra and Polarization

    We present the results of one and three-dimensional radiative transfer calculations of polarized spectra emerging from snapshots of radiation magnetohydrodynamical simulations of the local vertical structure of black hole accretion disks. The simulations cover a wide range of physical regimes relevant for the high/soft state of black hole X-ray binaries. We constrain the uncertainties in theoretical spectral color correction factors due to the presence of magnetic support of the disk surface layers and strong density inhomogeneities. For the radiation dominated simulation, magnetic support increases the color correction factor by about ten percent, but this is largely compensated by a ten percent softening due to inhomogeneities. We also compute the effects of inhomogeneities and Faraday rotation on the resulting polarization. Magnetic fields in the simulations are just strong enough to produce significant Faraday depolarization near the spectral peak of the radiation field. X-ray polarimetry may therefore be a valuable diagnostic of accretion disk magnetic fields, being able to directly test simulations of magnetorotational turbulence.Comment: 18 pages, accepted for publication in Ap
