Histogram comparison as a powerful tool for the search of new physics at LHC. Application to CMSSM
We propose a rigorous and effective way to compare experimental and
theoretical histograms, incorporating the different sources of statistical and
systematic uncertainties. This is a useful tool to extract as much information
as possible from the comparison between experimental data with theoretical
simulations, optimizing the chances of identifying New Physics at the LHC. We
illustrate this by showing how a search in the CMSSM parameter space, using
Bayesian techniques, can effectively find the correct values of the CMSSM
parameters by comparing histograms of events with multijets + missing
transverse momentum displayed in the effective-mass variable. The procedure is
in fact very efficient to identify the true supersymmetric model, in the case
supersymmetry is really there and accessible to the LHC
de comportamientos disruptivos en contextos educativosThe Good Behavior Game (GBG), has as main objective to
reduce the frequency of disruptive behavior in the class like:
shauting, fighting, in terrupting, etc. These behaviors are
characterized by being functional in certain contexts Iike the
playground or the free-game among partners and disfunctional
in instructiona/-academic settings. The main aim of this article
is to make a review about the published works that have
contributed to implement its efficacy, and to promote some pieces
of work that deals with their limits (generalization and
management). The general aspects of the game are presented,
class organization, support criteria where and how long the game
willlast, kind of support or reinforcements received, behavio'ur
disruptive to deal with and the different applications that the Good
Behavior Game. To conclude, it seems that this procedure is
presented very efficiently in order to reduce the frequency of
disruptive behaviour in educational context
p-Summing Bloch mappings on the complex unit disc
The notion of -summing Bloch mapping from the complex unit open disc
into a complex Banach space is introduced for any . It is shown that the linear space of such mappings, equipped with
a natural seminorm , is M\"obius-invariant. Moreover, its
subspace consisting of all those mappings which preserve the zero is an
injective Banach ideal of normalized Bloch mappings. Bloch versions of the
Pietsch's domination/factorization Theorem and the Maurey's extrapolation
Theorem are presented. We also introduce the spaces of -valued Bloch
molecules on and identify the spaces of normalized -summing
Bloch mappings from into under the norm
with the duals of such spaces of molecules under the Bloch version of the
-Chevet--Saphar tensor norms .Comment: 23 pages. Introduced some corrections on the first version. Accepted

Analysis of behavior related to use of the Internet, mobile telephones, compulsive shopping and gambling among university students
comportamientos. The aim of this study is to obtain knowledge about habits related
to addictive behaviour (pathological gambling, Internet, compulsive
shopping, use of mobile telephones, etc.) that may be displayed by
young students at the University of Cordoba (Spain), and to relate this
behaviour with variables such as age, sex, course year, macro-field of
study (arts/sciences) and the consumption of substances such as alcohol,
tobacco, cannabis and cocaine. Using an ex-post facto single-group
design (Montero & León, 2007), we applied a questionnaire especially
designed to gather socio-demographic information on substance use
and behavioural patterns related to “non-substance” addictions, which
included the Shopping Addiction Test, Echeburúa’s Internet Addiction
Test (2003) and Fernández-Montalvo and Echeburúa’s Short Pathological
Gambling Questionnaire (1997). A total of 1,011 students participated
in the study (42.7% males and 57.3% females), with an age range of
18 to 29. Significant differences were found between mean score on
the questionnaires and variables such as age, sex, field of studies and
course year. It would seem that being female is a protective factor for
Internet and gambling addiction, being a sciences student is a risk factor
for gambling addiction, and being older and being an arts student are
risk factors for shopping addiction. In conclusion, it can be stated that
the students surveyed showed moderate incidence of behaviours such
as Internet browsing, gambling, shopping and mobile phone use, whilst
a very small group are close to having an addiction problem with such
behaviour
A Review about Parenting Style and Parenting Practices and Their Consequences in Disabled and Non Disabled Children
In order to explain the worst levels of adaptation showed by children with disabilities in relation to non disabled
children, this paper aims to carry out a review of the most important advances achieved in recent decades in the study
of parenting styles and parenting practices in relation to academic competence and behavior problems of children
with and without disabilities. For this, we have carried out an analysis of the main works that show this relationship
in the population, and then, we did the same including disability as a differentiating factor. In this sense, the
authoritative style and specific parenting practices such as setting limits, communication, autonomy or monitoring
are described as good predictors of adaptive behavior in children. However, we miss studies to confirm this
relationship in children with disabilities. In this population, most of the papers refer, on the one hand, to expectations
and, on the other hand, the stress in parenting and its effect on the parents’ mental health. In conclusion, the need to
provide additional information about family relationships and disability is discusse
Relationship Between Parenting Style and Aggression in a Spanish Children Sample
The aim of this study is to ascertain whether there are any differences in the parenting style received by two groups of children who obtain low-risk and high-risk scores, respectively, in relation to aggressive behaviour and determine which parenting variables are linked with the presence or absence of this kind of problematic behaviour. We selected a sample of 33 children between 3 and 14 years old (21 male and 12 female) with risk scores in aggressive behaviour and another similar group with low scores in this variable. After administering both instruments to the parents, we carried out a binomial logistic regression analysis which resulted in a prediction model for the 87.9% of the sample, made up of the parenting variables: father‟s satisfaction with parenting and role orientation, and mother‟s autonomy and limit setting. Moreover, our analysis of the variance revealed significant differences in the support and communication perceived by the fathers and mothers of both groups. Lastly, the utility of results to propose intervention strategies within the family based on fathers involvement and an authoritative style is discussed
Quimioesterilización de Anastrepha fraterculus (Diptera: Tephritidae) con un regulador del crecimiento de insectos
Anastrepha fraterculus is a fruit pest of economic importance in South America and northwestern Argentina. Currently, it is controlled with toxic baits but there is a demand for environmentally acceptable methodologies. The use of inhibitors of the chitin synthesis is proposed as a tool to sterilize adults in the field. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of different doses of lufenuron to generate chemosterilization in A. fraterculus. Three experiments were performed. In the first two, the product was incorporated into the diet of the adults from emergence to sexual maturity. Treated individuals from one sex were crossed with untreated individuals from the other sex. Eggs were collected and allowed embryonic development. In the third trial, untreated males and females were crossed and allowed to copulate. Subsequently, females were exposed to the product and the eggs were collected. Egg hatch was affected in the three experiments in a dose dependent way. In Experiment 3, the effect of the product was evidenced 48 hours after exposure. Fecundity was also affected when the females were the treated sex. The results show that exposure of adults to lufenuron reduces egg hatch in A. fraterculus encouraging further investigations to adapt this methodology for this species.Fil: Ruiz, J. E.. His-Bundle Pacing in a Patient With Tricuspid and Mitral Prosthetic Valves Without Suitable Coronary Veins for Lead Placement
Atrioventricular block in patients with a prosthetic tricuspid valve and a pacemaker with a dysfunctional epicardial lead is not uncommon. In such instances, coronary sinus lead placement is the preferred option, but it has a failure rate of 10%-15%. An atrial transseptal left ventricular lead placement has been proposed as an alternative, but this approach is not feasible in patients with a prosthetic mitral valve. This analysis represents the first reported case of His-bundle pacing from the atria in a patient with prosthetic tricuspid and mitral valves, with no suitable coronary veins for lead placement. © 2021 The Author
The de novo production of halogenated hydroquinone metabolites by the Andean-Patagonian white-rot fungus Phylloporia boldo
The production of halogenated hydroquinone metabolites such as drosophilin A, drosophilin A methyl ether and chloroneb was investigated in the Andean-Patagonian fungus Phylloporia boldo. These chlorinated compounds were detected in both fruiting bodies and living cultures. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) quantification of these molecules was performed in liquid media giving similar values in comparison to previous reports. We observed the concentration of drosophilin A, drosophilin A methyl ether and chloroneb increased in liquid culture supplemented with KCl. Furthermore, chlorinated hydroquinone compounds were not detected using liquid media supplemented with KBr. Instead, brominated aromatic molecules were observed and quantified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. We consider these results are relevant for the use of these halogenating microorganisms in biotransformation processes.Fil: Riquelme, C.. Universidad de Concepción; ChileFil: Candia, B.. Deformation heterogeneity study of a 6061-T6 aluminum alloy processed by equal channel angular pressing
Among the severe plastic deformation techniques, the equal channel angular pressing
(ECAP) has drastically improved the mechanical properties of the processed alloys. However,
information regarding friction phenomenon, which modifies the deformation at the surface and the
heterogeneity microstrain state produced by the process itself, is still scarce. In the present work, the
deformation heterogeneity and the friction effect, at the surface in the bulk material of the 6061-T6
aluminum alloy processed by ECAP, is presented and discussed. The residual stress (RS)
measurements were performed by means of X-Ray diffraction. By means of synchrotron diffraction,
volumetric sections of the ECAPed samples were characterized. Finite element analysis showed a
good agreement with the experimentally obtained residual stress and microhardness mapping
results. The study also showed that the highest deformation zones were located at the outer parts of
the deformed samples (top and bottom), while the inner zone showed strain oscillations of up to
49±2 MPa.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft
