The Bordons were a family of organ makers who established themselves in Solsona in the late 15th century. The high point of their achievement began in the mid-16th century and lasted for nearly a hundred years. The family came to comprise a total of twelve organ makers belonging to seven generations, most of whom resided in Solsona, and worked on some one hundred and fifty instruments. Confusions have existed for years with respect to the names and work of the Bordons due to the repeated use of the same forenames by the organ makers. This paper presents a chronological listing of the Bordon organ makers and their work, establishing a clear relationship between these master organ makers and the instruments on which each of them worked

By this article I pretend to fill the void that exist about the biography of some catalan composers towards de middle and the ending of the XVII century. In sum there are three composers -Anton Font, Magí Nuet and Joan Prim-, that are mentioned in some biographical dictionaries and where, in order to omit facts, the information that exist about them isn't completed. The full information of the composers that I present, you can find their works in «Fons Verdú» in the Catalonia library, approaches us to the musical flowering that some of the small towns of our geography have lived in the second half of the XVII century.

Amb l'anàlisi de la informació existent es pretén aportar una mica de claror a las diferents qüestions sorgides en dit trasllat1930 marked the arrival of the first of four manuscripts that make up the "Fons Verdú" to La Biblioteca de Catalunya. Later in 1934, Higini Anglès relocated to Verdú (province of Lleida). Here he took from the Church fi les, the remaining manuscripts that from part of the "Fons Verdú". The knowledge brought by Anglès and David Pujol, as well as the relocation document containing music and its consequent entrance into the Biblioteca de Catalunya. Today presents us with various questions through an analysis of existing information. They want to examine a number of questions which came about as a result of the mentioned recolocatio

Analysis and Modeling of the Quasi-Z-Source-Inverter

This paper presents a dynamic average model of the Quasi-Z-Source Inverter (QZSI), based on the short term average values over one PWM-period, and the analysis of the possible switching states that can occur in the QZSI. The model is considerably descriptive since the modeling has been performed by analyzing the physical and functional relations with only little mathematical complexity. Another advantage of the proposed model is that the load current only acts as a disturbance input, and is not directly linked with the model structure itself. This allows a separate examination of either command input or disturbance response and makes the model independent of the given load. The model has been tested successfully in conjunction with an adequate cascade control loop design and a QZSI-prototype in hardware

Spatial distribution of Alitta virens and Clymenella torquata with respect to rigid boundaries in mud and sand

Recent advances in understanding of sediment material properties and of burrowing mechanics suggest likely differences in the behavior of organisms burrowing in mud and sand. The path of least resistance in the mud may lead an infaunal organism to burrow along a rigid wall. By contrast, in sand, force chains may prevent a burrowing organism from reaching a rigid wall. Burrowing in mud occurs primarily by the propagation of cracks. Cracks, and hence burrows, tend to propagate along rigid walls. In sand, force chains comprise collections of particles that experience much more stress than their neighbors. Stress chains tend to terminate at walls where their high density may inhibit burrowing. To test for differing effects of mud and sand on the spatial distribution of infauna, proximity to a rigid wall of two polychaetes, Alitta virens and Clymenella torquata, was measured in sand and mud. For both species the cumulative density distribution of burrow distances from the wall showed significantly more burrows near the wall than expected in both mud and sand. However, in direct sampling experiments, the more mobile A. virens showed a greater tendency to burrow at the wall in mud than in sand and strong exclusion from the immediate vicinity of the wall in sand, whereas C. torquata did not show a significant difference in distance from the wall in sand versus mud. The wall effect may be weaker for C. torquata because its limited mobility makes it less likely to encounter a wall over the course of an experiment. Our results point to the need for quantitative assessment of biases of analytical devices that rely on rigid walls, such as optodes and sediment profile imaging cameras, and suggest a possible similar bias in animal distributions around natural analogs such as rock-sediment boundaries
