    Behavioral finance is an approach that explains how humans invest or relate to finances influenced by psychological factors. Behavioral financial theory states that an investor is not always rational in making investment decisions and tends to use psychological aspects. The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of overconfident and herding behaviour to investment decisions of millennial in Ambon city. The population in this study are millennial investors in the city of Ambon and the sample used is 96 respondents. The sampling technique used purposive random sampling, the data in this study used primary data in the form of a questionnaire. The data analysis technique is multiple regression analysis. The results of the study show that overconfidence and herding behavior have a positive and significant effect on the stock investment decisions of millennial investors in Ambon city. The coefficient of determination test shows the Adjusted R2 value of 0.159 or 15.9%, which means that the stock investment decision variable is influenced by overconfidence and herding behavior variables and the remaining 84.1% is influenced by other variables

    Faculty Development for the Use of High-Fidelity Patient Simulation: A Systematic Review

    This is a systematic review of the research data between 1995 and June 2013 concerning faculty development in the use of high-fidelity patient simulation for health professionals and students with a search of the following databases: CINAHL, Nursing and Allied Health Collection: Comprehensive, OVID Medline, ScienceDirect, PubMed, Scopus, and ProQuest Dissertation/Theses Database. The primary search terms were high-fidelity patient simulation and faculty development. Reference lists from relevant articles were also reviewed. Twenty-five studies were included for this review. The majority of the studies were surveys with a few quasi-experimental designs. The themes were similar to those found in the non-research literature: strengths, incentives, barriers, use of faculty champions/simulation coordinator, and faculty development. The validity and reliability differed by study. There are numerous incentives and barriers to the use of high-fidelity patient simulation by faculty. Several examples of faculty development programs have been described in the literature but little evaluation has taken place beyond the end of the program. The goal of the use of high-fidelity patient simulation is to enhance the student’s knowledge, skills, and critical thinking in the care of patients. It is essential that the faculty are competent to provide instruction with high-fidelity patient simulation and therefore, the efficacy of these developmental programs need closer attention

    Abstrak: Tambakbulusan merupakan desa di kawasan pesisir utara Jawa Tengah. Desa ini cukup potensial untuk dikembangkan, antara lain mangrove, keberagaman produk UMKM, dan Pantai Glagah Wangi yang menjadi tujuan wisata. Untuk itu, Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan Universitas Diponegoro melalui kegiatan Program Peningkatan Kapasitas Organisasi Mahasiswa (PPK Ormawa)-nya bertujuan membentuk Sekolah Perempuan lengkap dengan kurikulumnya untuk meningkatkan softskill kelompok kader perempuan dan melakukan pemberdayaan UMKM di Desa Tambakbulusan. Kegiatan yang dilakukan selama 5 bulan ini telah berhasil membentuk kelompok baru Kader Perempuan dengan 20 orang anggota. Kelompok tersebut telah meningkat 60-70% pengetahuannya dan terampil dalam pembuatan batik. Pemberdayaan UMKM dilakukan dengan perbaikan kemasan dan pemasaran pada kader mitra dan telah berhasil menyelenggarakan Festival UMKM Desa Tambakbulusan Kabupaten Demak. Melalui kegiatan tersebut, selain pengetahuan dan penjualan UMKM meningkat 90%, Kader Perempuan yang telah terbentuk telah membuat beberapa desain batik mangrove khas Desa Tambakbulusan yang akan menjadi daya tarik wisatawan bahari yang berkunjung.Abstract: Tambakbulusan is located on the north coast of Central Java. This village has the potential to be developed, including mangroves, a variety of MSME products, and Glagah Wangi Beach which is a tourist destination. For this reason, the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Diponegoro University through its Student Organization Capacity Building Program activities aims to form a Women’s School with its curriculum to improve the soft skills of women groups and empower MSMEs in Tambakbulusan Village. The activities carried out for 5 months have succeeded in forming a new group of female group with 20 members. The group has increased 60-70% in knowledge and skills in producing batik and understanding the batik wastewater treatment installation system. MSME empowerment is carried out by improving packaging and marketing and has successfully held the Tambakbulusan Village MSMEs Festival, Demak Regency. Through these activities, in addition to knowledge and saled of MSMEs increasing by 90%, the Women Group have succeeded in making several mangrove batik designs typical of Tambakbulusan Village which will become an attraction for visiting marine tourists.

    The Sloan Digital Sky Survey Quasar Catalog V. Seventh Data Release

    We present the fifth edition of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Quasar Catalog, which is based upon the SDSS Seventh Data Release. The catalog, which contains 105,783 spectroscopically confirmed quasars, represents the conclusion of the SDSS-I and SDSS-II quasar survey. The catalog consists of the SDSS objects that have luminosities larger than M_i = -22.0 (in a cosmology with H_0 = 70 km/s/Mpc Omega_M = 0.3, and Omega_Lambda = 0.7) have at least one emission line with FWHM larger than 1000 km/s or have interesting/complex absorption features, are fainter than i > 15.0 and have highly reliable redshifts. The catalog covers an area of 9380 deg^2. The quasar redshifts range from 0.065 to 5.46, with a median value of 1.49; the catalog includes 1248 quasars at redshifts greater than four, of which 56 are at redshifts greater than five. The catalog contains 9210 quasars with i < 18; slightly over half of the entries have i< 19. For each object the catalog presents positions accurate to better than 0.1" rms per coordinate, five-band (ugriz) CCD-based photometry with typical accuracy of 0.03 mag, and information on the morphology and selection method. The catalog also contains radio, near-infrared, and X-ray emission properties of the quasars, when available, from other large-area surveys. The calibrated digital spectra cover the wavelength region 3800-9200 Ang. at a spectral resolution R = 2000 the spectra can be retrieved from the SDSS public database using the information provided in the catalog. Over 96% of the objects in the catalog were discovered by the SDSS.     Estimating the burden of rubella virus infection and congenital rubella syndrome through a rubella immunity assessment among pregnant women in the Democratic Republic of the Congo: Potential impact on vaccination policy.

    BACKGROUND: Rubella-containing vaccines (RCV) are not yet part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo's (DRC) vaccination program; however RCV introduction is planned before 2020. Because documentation of DRC's historical burden of rubella virus infection and congenital rubella syndrome (CRS) has been minimal, estimates of the burden of rubella virus infection and of CRS would help inform the country's strategy for RCV introduction. METHODS: A rubella antibody seroprevalence assessment was conducted using serum collected during 2008-2009 from 1605 pregnant women aged 15-46years attending 7 antenatal care sites in 3 of DRC's provinces. Estimates of age- and site-specific rubella antibody seroprevalence, population, and fertility rates were used in catalytic models to estimate the incidence of CRS per 100,000 live births and the number of CRS cases born in 2013 in DRC. RESULTS: Overall 84% (95% CI 82, 86) of the women tested were estimated to be rubella antibody seropositive. The association between age and estimated antibody seroprevalence, adjusting for study site, was not significant (p=0.10). Differences in overall estimated seroprevalence by study site were observed indicating variation by geographical area (p⩽0.03 for all). Estimated seroprevalence was similar for women declaring residence in urban (84%) versus rural (83%) settings (p=0.67). In 2013 for DRC nationally, the estimated incidence of CRS was 69/100,000 live births (95% CI 0, 186), corresponding to 2886 infants (95% CI 342, 6395) born with CRS. CONCLUSIONS: In the 3 provinces, rubella virus transmission is endemic, and most viral exposure and seroconversion occurs before age 15years. However, approximately 10-20% of the women were susceptible to rubella virus infection and thus at risk for having an infant with CRS. This analysis can guide plans for introduction of RCV in DRC. Per World Health Organization recommendations, introduction of RCV should be accompanied by a campaign targeting all children 9months to 14years of age as well as vaccination of women of child bearing age through routine services

    VASCo: computation and visualization of annotated protein surface contacts

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Structural data from crystallographic analyses contain a vast amount of information on protein-protein contacts. Knowledge on protein-protein interactions is essential for understanding many processes in living cells. The methods to investigate these interactions range from genetics to biophysics, crystallography, bioinformatics and computer modeling. Also crystal contact information can be useful to understand biologically relevant protein oligomerisation as they rely in principle on the same physico-chemical interaction forces. Visualization of crystal and biological contact data including different surface properties can help to analyse protein-protein interactions.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>VASCo is a program package for the calculation of protein surface properties and the visualization of annotated surfaces. Special emphasis is laid on protein-protein interactions, which are calculated based on surface point distances. The same approach is used to compare surfaces of two aligned molecules. Molecular properties such as electrostatic potential or hydrophobicity are mapped onto these surface points. Molecular surfaces and the corresponding properties are calculated using well established programs integrated into the package, as well as using custom developed programs. The modular package can easily be extended to include new properties for annotation. The output of the program is most conveniently displayed in PyMOL using a custom-made plug-in.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>VASCo supplements other available protein contact visualisation tools and provides additional information on biological interactions as well as on crystal contacts. The tool provides a unique feature to compare surfaces of two aligned molecules based on point distances and thereby facilitates the visualization and analysis of surface differences.</p

    Transcription-replication conflicts: How they occur and how they are resolved

    The frequent occurrence of transcription and DNA replication in cells results in many encounters, and thus conflicts, between the transcription and replication machineries. These conflicts constitute a major intrinsic source of genome instability, which is a hallmark of cancer cells. How the replication machinery progresses along a DNA molecule occupied by an RNA polymerase is an old question. Here we review recent data on the biological relevance of transcription-replication conflicts, and the factors and mechanisms that are involved in either preventing or resolving them, mainly in eukaryotes. On the basis of these data, we provide our current view of how transcription can generate obstacles to replication, including torsional stress and non-B DNA structures, and of the different cellular processes that have evolved to solve them

    Assessing the role of bed sediments in the persistence of red mud pollution in a shallow lake (Kinghorn Loch, UK)

    Red mud is a by-product of alumina production. Little is known about the long-term fate of red mud constituents in fresh waters or of the processes regulating recovery of fresh waters following pollution control. In 1983, red mud leachate was diverted away from Kinghorn Loch, UK, after many years of polluting this shallow and monomictic lake. We hypothesised that the redox-sensitive constituents of red mud leachate, phosphorus (P), arsenic (As) and vanadium (V), would persist in the Kinghorn Loch for many years following pollution control as a result of cycling between the lake bed sediment and the overlying water column. To test this hypothesis, we conducted a 12-month field campaign in Kinghorn Loch between May 2012 and April 2013 to quantify the seasonal cycling of P, As, and V in relation to environmental conditions (e.g., dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration, pH, redox chemistry and temperature) in the lake surface and bottom waters. To confirm the mechanisms for P, As and V release, a sediment core incubation experiment was conducted using lake sediment sampled in July 2012, in which DO concentrations were manipulated to create either oxic or anoxic conditions similar to the bed conditions found in the lake. The effects on P, As, and V concentrations and species in the water column were measured daily over an eight-day incubation period. Phosphate (PO4-P) and dissolved As concentrations were significantly higher in the bottom waters (75.9 ± 30.2 μg L−1 and 23.5 ± 1.83 μg L−1, respectively) than in the surface waters (12.9 ± 1.50 μg L−1 and 14.1 ± 2.20 μg L−1, respectively) in Kinghorn Loch. Sediment release of As and P under anoxic conditions was confirmed by the incubation experiment and by the significant negative correlations between DO and P and As concentrations in the bottom waters of the lake. In contrast, the highest dissolved V concentrations occurred in the bottom waters of Kinghorn Loch under oxic conditions (15.0 ± 3.35 μg L−1), with the release from the bed sediment apparently being controlled by a combination of competitive ion concentrations, pH and redox conditions
