En este artículo se desgajan las unidades elementales que componen el imaginario culturalista difundido desde 1990 por Manuel Fraga, Presidente de la Xunta de Galicia prestando en primer lugar atención a sus dimensiones europeístas. Y puesto que este imaginario instituye a la cultura como el único referente colectivamente compartido, también se examina cómo logra suscitar adhesiones emotivas al mismo oscureciendo así los conflictos y contradicciones presentes en la sociedad gallega. A lo largo del texto se exponen las claves que han hecho posible el creciente recurso político a una visión primordialista de la cultura, tanto al nivel de las instituciones gallegas, como al de las de la Unión Europea (UE) para, acto seguido, considerar lo que acontece en Galicia

Entre lo estético y lo extra-estético: paradojas de la emergencia internacional del arte contemporáneo de África

Decolonialism, cultural policy and University of the Arts of Ecuador

En Ecuador las nociones de decolonialidad, interculturalidad y Sumak Kawsay se han incorporado a los planes de política cultural diseñados desde 2007 por el Ministerio de Cultura. Esas nociones forman parte del léxico de quienes desean decolonizar la universidad, construir conocimientos in-disciplinados y crear una estética decolonial, y también de un gobierno populista post-neoliberal que las utiliza como consignas políticas enmascarando gracias a ellas los procesos neoliberales en curso en el país. A partir de datos obtenidos en Quito, Guayaquil y Loja entre 2012 y 2014, en este artículo analizaremos la reflexividad institucional existente entre diversos agentes académicos y políticos prestando especial atención a la creación de la Universidad de las Artes.The notions of decolonialism, interculturalism and Sumak Kawsay have been integrated into the cultural policies designed by Ecuador’s Ministry of Culture since 2007. Those notions are part of the language of those who want to decolonialize the university, build un-disciplined knowledges and create a decolonial aesthetic, and are also utilised by a government populist post-neoliberal that uses them as political slogans that masks trough them the neoliberal processes that are taking place in the country. Based on data obtained in Quito, Guayaquil and Loja between 2012 and 2014 this article analizes the institutional reflexivity existing in diverse academic and political agents paying special attention to the creation of the University of the Arts

Feminismos en movimiento en el estado español: ¿re–ampliando el espacio de lo político?

El artículo examina los feminismos en movimiento en el Estado español reteniendo que se inscriben en un contexto marcado por treinta años de Planes de Igualdad y por leyes recientemente promulgadas – de violencia de género, de matrimonio de personas del mismo sexo, de salud sexual y reproductiva, de identidad de género– , producto de las luchas feministas y las de los colectivos gays, lesbianos, transexuales y bisexuales. Esa aproximación permite bosquejar los desacuerdos entre feministas “institucionales”, “nacionalistas”, “otras”, “queer”, “postfeministas”, “transfeministas”, “FEMEN” (la lista no es exhaustiva); y sirve para pensar si es posible re– ampliar, desde posturas feministas a veces divergentes, el espacio de lo político.The paper analyses Feminisms on the move in the Spanish State keeping in mind that they take place in a context affected by 30 years of Equality plans and recently passed Acts such as the Anti– Gender– based Violence Act, Same– sex Marriage Act, the Sexual and Reproductive Health Act, the Gender Identity Act. All these laws are product of the struggle carried out by Feminist, Gay, Lesbian and Transsexual groups. This approach 12 lets us outline the disagreements among different types of feminists such as Institutional Feminists, Queer, Nationalists, Others, Postfeminists, Transfeminists, FEMEN (the list is not exhaustive) and it is also useful to ponder whether it is possible to re– widen the political space from sometimes divergent feminist stances

Alterations induced by chronic stress in lymphocyte subsets of blood and primary and secondary immune organs of mice

BACKGROUND: The immune system is particularly sensitive to stress. Although acute stress generally has positive effects, chronic stress typically provokes immunosuppression. The elucidation of the mechanisms involved in immunosuppression are of interest for the design of therapeutic approaches to avoid the appearance of stress disorders. This study aimed to investigate chronic stress-induced alterations on lymphocyte subset distribution and percentages. The experiments were performed with C57BL/6 mice subjected to chronic immobilization stress. RESULTS: Stress caused a marked increase in apoptosis inside the thymus, and a reduction in the total number of thymocytes. Furthermore, the proportion of immature thymocytes declined significantly suggesting that the increased apoptosis mainly affected cells of immature phenotype. In blood, the total number of lymphocytes diminished but not all lymphocyte populations showed the same tendency: while the relative proportion of B cells declined slightly, the relative proportion of circulating CD3(+) cells, and particularly some T cell subsets showing an immature phenotype (CD3(+)PNA(+)), increased under stress. The spleen and lymph nodes show a marked reduction in cellularity, but the relative proportion of T cells increased, while no change or only a slight reduction was observed in the relative proportion of B cells. Similarly, the relative proportion of T cells increased in bone marrow. CONCLUSIONS: Detailed data on the alterations of lymphoid cell subsets occurring under immobilization stress, both in the bloodstream and in different lymphoid tissues, are obtained. In general, T cells are more affected than B cells and, in particular, a marked increase in the percentage of a subset of circulating PNA(+)CD3(+) T cells is observed

Du Guernica au Gure Aitaren Etxea et à la Paloma de la Paz Œuvres d'an, artistes et enjeux politiques au Pays Basque espagnolDepuis 1987, mener le Pays Basque espagnol vers la paix est un objectif que proclament les nationalistes basques « traditionnels » et « radicaux » sans qu'ils s'entendent sur les moyens à mettre en œuvre pour y parvenir. L'absence d'un accord entre eux transparaît lors de confrontations politiques pendant lesquelles des œuvres d'art soigneusement choisies leur serviront de bannière symbolique. Ces choix rendent compte de la complexité des interactions entre l'art et la vie sociale et laissent entrevoir comment les acteurs sociaux qui créent des événements culturellement significatifs réexaminent l'ordre culturel et produisent des interprétations divergentes d'une même œuvre d'art. En partant des concepts de « champ de production» et d' « espace esthético-rituel », nous essaierons de saisir les objectifs que poursuivent les nationalistes « traditionnels» et « radicaux » au cours des événements qui marquent le Pays Basque entre 1987 et 1995, et pendant lesquels ils se confrontent symboliquement à travers le Guemica, le Gure Aiteren Etxea et la Paloma de la Paz.Front Guernica to Gure Aiteren Etxea and to the Paloma de la Paz An Works, Anists and Political Issues in the Spanish Basque CountrySince 1987 leading the spanish Basque Country towards peace is a goal sought by " traditional " and " radical " nationalists. However, up to now there hasn't been any agreement about the means to achieve it. This disagreement will rise now and again through political disputes between them during which some carefully chosen art works will be taken like symbolic flags. These choices show us the complexity of the interactions between art and social life. At the same time, they tell us that the social actors who create culturally significant events reanalyse the cultural order producing dissenting interpretations of a same art work. Setting out the concepts of " artistic production fïeld " and " aesthetic-ritual space ". we will try to catch the goals aimed by " traditional " and " radical " nationalists who are going to clash symbolically through the Guemica, the Gure Aitaren Etxea and the Paloma de la Paz. during events which have taken place in the spanish Basque Country between 1987 and 1995
