Dominant Strategy Mechanisms with Multidimensional Types
This paper provides a characterization of dominant strategy mechanisms with quasi-linear utilities and multi-dimensional types for a variety of preference domains. Minkowski Functionals of Abell/ACO Clusters
We determine the Minkowski functionals for a sample of Abell/ACO clusters,
401 with measured and 16 with estimated redshifts. The four Minkowski
functionals (including the void probability function and the mean genus)
deliver a global description of the spatial distribution of clusters on scales
from to 60\hMpc with a clear geometric interpretation. Comparisons with
mock catalogues of N--body simulations using different variants of the CDM
model demonstrate the discriminative power of the description. The standard CDM
model and the model with tilted perturbation spectrum cannot generate the
Minkowski functionals of the cluster data, while a model with a cosmological
constant and a model with breaking of the scale invariance of perturbations

Generalized parton distributions of the pion in a Bethe-Salpeter approach
We calculate generalized parton distribution functions in a field theoretic
formalism using a covariant Bethe-Salpeter approach for the determination of
the bound-state wave function. We describe the procedure in an exact
calculation in scalar Electrodynamics proving that the relevant corrections
outside our scheme vanish. We extend the formalism to the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio
model, a realistic theory of the pion. We go in both cases beyond all previous
calculations and discover that all important features required by general
physical considerations, like symmetry properties, sum rules and the
polynomiality condition, are explicitly verified. We perform a numerical study

Super selective percutaneous transhepatic coil embolization of intrahepatic pseudoaneurysm after pediatric liver transplantation: a case report
Background
Intrahepatic arterial pseudoaneurysms are a rare, life-threatening complication after pediatric liver transplantation. Treatment of choice represents interventional radiological management with endovascular embolization of the segmental artery proximal and distal to the aneurysm. However, this technique results in loss of arterial perfusion distal to the aneurysm with subsegment arterial ischemia.
Case presentation
We report a case of a 1-year-old girl with a pseudoaneurysm in the split-liver graft. Direct percutaneous, transhepatic access to the pseudoaneurysm was performed followed by super selective coil application into the aneurysm.
Conclusion
Super selective percutaneous, transhepatic coil application is feasible even in pediatric patients after liver transplantation and results in preservation of the entire course of the liver artery

Scale-free memory model for multiagent reinforcement learning. Mean field approximation and rock-paper-scissors dynamics
A continuous time model for multiagent systems governed by reinforcement
learning with scale-free memory is developed. The agents are assumed to act
independently of one another in optimizing their choice of possible actions via
trial-and-error search. To gain awareness about the action value the agents
accumulate in their memory the rewards obtained from taking a specific action
at each moment of time. The contribution of the rewards in the past to the
agent current perception of action value is described by an integral operator
with a power-law kernel. Finally a fractional differential equation governing
the system dynamics is obtained. The agents are considered to interact with one
another implicitly via the reward of one agent depending on the choice of the
other agents. The pairwise interaction model is adopted to describe this
effect. As a specific example of systems with non-transitive interactions, a
two agent and three agent systems of the rock-paper-scissors type are analyzed
in detail, including the stability analysis and numerical simulation.
Scale-free memory is demonstrated to cause complex dynamics of the systems at
hand. In particular, it is shown that there can be simultaneously two modes of
the system instability undergoing subcritical and supercritical bifurcation,
with the latter one exhibiting anomalous oscillations with the amplitude and
period growing with time. Besides, the instability onset via this supercritical
mode may be regarded as "altruism self-organization". For the three agent
system the instability dynamics is found to be rather irregular and can be
composed of alternate fragments of oscillations different in their properties.Comment: 17 pages, 7 figur
Ontogeny of Numerical Abilities in Fish
Background: It has been hypothesised that human adults, infants, and non-human primates share two non-verbal systems for enumerating objects, one for representing precisely small quantities (up to 3–4 items) and one for representing approximately larger quantities. Recent studies exploiting fish’s spontaneous tendency to join the larger group showed that their ability in numerical discrimination closely resembles that of primates but little is known as to whether these capacities are innate or acquired. Methodology/Principal Findings: We used the spontaneous tendency to join the larger shoal to study the limits of the quantity discrimination of newborn and juvenile guppies. One-day old fish chose the larger shoal when the choice was between numbers in the small quantity range, 2 vs. 3 fish, but not when they had to choose between large numbers, 4 vs. 8 or 4 vs. 12, although the numerical ratio was larger in the latter case. To investigate the relative role of maturation and experience in large number discrimination, fish were raised in pairs (with no numerical experience) or in large social groups and tested at three ages. Forty-day old guppies from both treatments were able to discriminate 4 vs. 8 fish while at 20 days this was only observed in fish grown in groups. Control experiments showed that these capacities were maintained after guppies were prevented from using non numerical perceptual variables that co-vary with numerosity. Impaired innate interferon induction in severe therapy resistant atopic asthmatic children
Deficient type I interferon-β and type III interferon-λ induction by rhinoviruses has previously been reported in mild/moderate atopic asthmatic adults. No studies have yet investigated if this occurs in severe therapy resistant asthma (STRA). Here, we show that compared with non-allergic healthy control children, bronchial epithelial cells cultured ex vivo from severe therapy resistant atopic asthmatic children have profoundly impaired interferon-β and interferon-λ mRNA and protein in response to rhinovirus (RV) and polyIC stimulation. Severe treatment resistant asthmatics also exhibited increased virus load, which negatively correlated with interferon mRNA levels. Furthermore, uninfected cells from severe therapy resistant asthmatic children showed lower levels of Toll-like receptor-3 mRNA and reduced retinoic acid inducible gene and melanoma differentiation-associated gene 5 mRNA after RV stimulation. These data expand on the original work, suggesting that the innate anti-viral response to RVs is impaired in asthmatic tissues and demonstrate that this is a feature of STRA
